It's been a while since I've been to Hachiken Shokudo for lunch. I always end up taking a lot of different dishes without realizing it, and end up eating it all just out of stubbornness, so today I decided to focus on just one main dish. I had fried hokke, tarako (cod roe), potato salad, rice (medium portion), and miso soup. I lightly heated the fried hokke in the microwave, served it with tartar sauce, sprinkled noritama on the white rice, and enjoyed a traditional Japanese meal after a long time.

After 14:30, all-day service comes in handy. The number of customers calms down around this time, so you can relax. The array of side dishes lined up looks appealing. With a rich variety of grilled fish, it seems useful not only for rice eaters but also for drinkers. The prices are affordable considering it's an izakaya. Choose from the fair menu displayed at the entrance and order soba at the payment counter. "Would you like rice?" is a standard question here. ◇Small soba ¥240 ◇Grilled duck meatball with fried leeks ¥290 ◇Seaweed vinegar ¥140. I decided to sit in a seat with an easy-to-see TV monitor. The soba was served to my seat. The pre-made side dishes were heated in the microwave. I quickly put the side dishes on top of the soba, and the easy-to-make duck meatball soba was complete. When I slurped up the beautifully grilled leeks with the soba, it created a nice atmosphere. It didn't have a strong duck flavor in the broth, but I was satisfied with the variety of toppings floating in the small bowl. The roles of fish cake and spinach were also significant. A little seaweed improved the nutritional balance. You can easily enjoy home-cooked meals conveniently. It's wonderful to see a lot of staff working to keep the business running smoothly. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Next is Yellow Hat♪ I feel like eating a yellow tamagoyaki. I've come here a few times this year, but once again I ended up spending over 1,000 yen. It's hard to resist wanting to try everything when there are so many choices for side dishes. I ordered the classic Kansai-style tamagoyaki first, along with salt-grilled mackerel, hiyayakko, menchi-katsu, and rice, totaling 1,045 yen. The freshly made hot Kansai-style tamagoyaki is best enjoyed while still steaming. Even though I don't always need to order the tamagoyaki, once they mention it at the entrance, I find myself ordering it anyway. The rice is delicious. Speaking of which, that chain restaurant also had delicious rice♪ Some places serve old rice or commercial rice, but... The menchi-katsu has a slightly strong oil flavor, but the crispy coating and the texture of the filling are good. The salt-grilled mackerel has a nice fatty texture, with just the right amount of salt and a consistent grilling, making it tasty! It's moist and not dry, so you can keep eating it with the rice. The hiyayakko is a standard tofu dish with garnish, adding a healthy touch to the meal. It's a cafeteria that mainly serves pre-made dishes, but the spacious parking lot makes it easy to park and quite convenient to use. If there was a similar restaurant serving delicious obanzai, I would definitely become a regular. I'm sure I'll end up coming back here again...

Today, in order to correct my overeating during a long business trip, I visited Sapporo Hachiken Shokudo to have a stomach-friendly dinner. For tonight's meal, I had grilled Kinka mackerel with kelp soy sauce as the main dish, along with natto, okra, dried young sardines, and raw egg. Sometimes, I crave for such simple meals, and the reliable flavors of the side dishes made me enjoy the meal with peace of mind. I am very satisfied!

Unexpectedly, I accidentally deleted the photo of the menu I chose. It's been over 10 years since I last visited, back when the place had just opened. We ordered the following: Deep-fried tofu (210 yen), Mixed salad with sesame dressing (140 yen), Small portion of rice (140 yen). My daughter had Chicken Mizore-ni (310 yen), Medium portion of rice (170 yen), Mixed salad (140 yen), Fried chicken (260 yen), Edo-style rolled omelette (220 yen). We shared a free pork miso soup. The rolled omelette was decently tasty. The free pork miso soup was quite filling. The small portion of rice was sufficient for me. My daughter ended up eating too much and looked like she was about to burst (laughs). It's nice to come here occasionally because there are many fish options to choose from.

I went to Hachiken Shokudo near Nishi-ku Noshikoen for a walking lunch. I felt like trying out a place like this for a change. It was lunchtime, so there was a line at the side dishes counter. I picked out some healthy-looking options. I got fried horse mackerel, stir-fried bean sprouts, burdock root salad, and miso soup. It ended up being over 800 yen! If I had added rice, it would have been over 1,000 yen! Healthy is good, but it's a bit pricey, right? If we're talking about price, maybe Hanamaru Udon would be cheaper and better... I wonder how this Asian-made fried horse mackerel tastes? Surprisingly, it was quite delicious. I enjoyed it with plenty of tartar sauce! The stir-fried bean sprouts were just cooked, and I liked the crunchy texture. The burdock root salad was as expected, nothing special but not bad either! The miso soup, being towards the end, had a generous amount of ingredients added as a bonus. The taste was pretty good. It felt like a home-cooked meal, which was nice, but it did add up to be quite expensive in the end. Thank you for the meal!

When I feel like there is a shortage of various ingredients, I always stop by this place. I always order the pork miso soup. It's so versatile with lots of vegetables and miso that contains enzymes and yeast. Japanese cuisine is amazing. Another favorite is the burdock root salad. Burdock is rich in fiber, great for cleaning out the stomach. It's a standard salad mixed with mayonnaise. This place is like a regular rice bowl restaurant for me. Thank you for the meal! ^ ^

This day was a day for me to eat nikujaga (meat and potato stew). I searched for a set meal with nikujaga, but couldn't find any. So, I decided to order nikujaga, pork miso soup, and tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelette) here. The tamagoyaki was a special service for LINE friends, so I signed up. It was freshly made with green onions on top and delicious. The pork miso soup was satisfying as usual, but it seemed to lack ginger this time. Was the previous ginger just based on mood? The nikujaga had plenty of potatoes but lacked meat and was a bit too salty. The tamagoyaki, however, was quite tasty. Although they always ask if I want rice even though I don't order carbohydrates, it's okay. Overall, it was a satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal!

On Saturday, two of us visited this restaurant. We had to wait at the neighboring car shop, so we decided to have lunch here. The place was bustling with both solo diners and families. Each dish was priced in the 200 yen range, making it quite affordable. We ordered deep-fried tofu with minced meat sauce, spicy chicken, salmon sashimi, tofu and seaweed salad, soba noodles, and miso ramen. Since we were LINE friends, we got a free egg omelet, so we chose the tanuki ginger flavor. The total bill ended up being over 1000 yen per person. When we got home and looked at the receipt, we realized that the egg omelet was the reason for the higher price. In hindsight, we didn't really need it. We also could have just ordered one type of noodle dish. People who are indecisive or in a rush should be careful not to over-order. It's important to calmly choose what you want to eat and check the receipt carefully when paying. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Having lunch in Hachiken♪ Today, I'm going for a low-carb option. Gotta slim down for mountain girl season, after all (^^; The miso soup is well-balanced and a fermented food! That alone is satisfying, but I can't resist the salad (°_°) A cabbage, wakame, and tofu salad should be good♪ The dressing provided is a Japanese-style dressing, healthy though not oil-free. The miso soup is full of ginger pieces about 3mm in size! A friend to those with low body temperature! There's plenty of pork belly, konjac noodles, burdock, etc., a pork soup paradise~! "Can I add some green onions?" "Please add plenty!" With exchanges like that, let's dig in! Quite a few solo female diners come here. There's always parking available too. This diner has become quite rare, right? Just this one and Shiraishi, perhaps? I used to come here occasionally when it first opened, and as expected, I tend to overeat here^^; On this day, I managed to resist temptation~(laughs) Thank you for the meal!

By 8 o'clock, it becomes difficult to find a casual ramen shop, but kids always want to eat at Hachiken Shokudo. They offer both ramen and soba, and you can choose your favorite side dishes along with rice size and miso soup or pork soup. The salt-grilled shirasu, oyster fry, and horse mackerel fry are popular side dishes. The pork soup is delicious with lots of ingredients, and the miso soup has wakame seaweed in it.

Next, I want to try the minced cutlet. The egg omelette was a half-size sweet one. It had a gentle flavor and was good. Thank you for the meal.

When you get carried away, it's easy to end up spending quite a bit on various items! The seasoning seemed overall on the sweeter side, perhaps? The menchi katsu was crispy and delicious.

I visited for dinner after a long time, so I'll just upload the photos. I ordered what is in the photos and it cost around 900 yen, so it's not cheap, but it's nice to be able to choose your favorite side dishes.

I like the system of choosing my own side dishes for my meal tray. I initially imagined a cheap image from the name "cafeteria," but when combined, it turns out to be surprisingly expensive. If it were 100-150 yen cheaper, it would match my image better. However, I appreciate the system of choosing my own dishes and the hard work of the staff, so I use this place quite often.

Lunch visit. Visited alone. General impressions: - Located near the Agricultural Experiment Park. - Self-service. - Tamagoyaki is a must. - Other side dishes are not freshly made, served at room temperature. - Ordered tamagoyaki, menchi katsu, and rice. - Ate at the counter seat. - The Edo-style tamagoyaki had a nice sweetness and was delicious.
