The weather is snowy! Even though it's best to stay close by when going out in this weather, I decided to drive to Kiyota and made it to "Takezo"! The road conditions were not too bad, and the snow was not falling heavily, so I thought I could make it there. I arrived earlier than the opening time, so I waited in the parking lot until the owner signaled the opening at 11:30. It seems that there was a price change last year, and I found some changes in the prices this time as well, so I will attach the menu for reference. I ordered the "Spicy Abura Soba with Mayonnaise (¥930)". The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles, with plenty of char siu, sliced bamboo shoots, and lettuce, all topped with mayonnaise. The noodles had a smooth texture typical of abura soba, but they were quite thick and had a good chewiness. The spiciness was toned down by the mayonnaise, giving it a nice kick. Although I was hoping for a soft-boiled egg, it was hard-boiled, which was a bit disappointing. The noodles were delicious, with a good balance of spiciness and richness. For those who find the spiciness too much, there are condiments on the table to adjust the heat level, making it suitable for a wide range of customers. The lettuce added a nice crunch without being just a filler, which I really liked. The char siu was tender and easily fell apart with chopsticks, yet had a slight chewiness when bitten, which was a nice touch. It was a bit oily, but I enjoy rich flavors, so I couldn't stop eating it! By the time I finished, I felt fuller and more satisfied than I expected. Abura soba may look less filling than ramen due to the lack of soup, but with its generous toppings, it actually fills you up quite well. Plus, the mayonnaise adds a touch of indulgence and probably some calories too, but it was so delicious, so it's all good! Next time I go, I'll try the ramen! Thank you for the meal.
