Yakuzen Spicy Miso Ramen (medium spicy) + Hanabuta Rice (mini) + 12 pieces of boiled dumplings
It was just past 12 o'clock, the peak time. There were 7 people in line and the parking lot was full. It was nice that they took our order while we were waiting in line. I have a small stomach, so I was already debating whether to just get the mini rice, but then they mentioned that during lunch time, the dumplings are 100 yen off, so I couldn't resist and ended up ordering the dumplings as well. In the end, we waited in line for about 20 minutes outside, but getting seated inside was relatively smooth, I think.
After being seated, we snacked on pickled vegetables while waiting for about 15 minutes before our food arrived. The soup indeed had a rich taste and aroma of herbal medicine. However, it wasn't bitter and was very mild. The spiciness was just right, not as strong as I expected. The soup was delicious. The noodles were thin straight noodles. There were so many ingredients that they were all tangled together, making it difficult to lift with chopsticks. I had to switch to a fork halfway through... The noodles had a low water content, so towards the end, they absorbed the soup, which was also delicious. There were a lot of vegetables in the dish, even in the regular size, it was as big as the large size at other restaurants, so it was extremely voluminous. Considering the price, it felt very cost-effective.
The Hanabuta rice had a delicious sweet and savory sauce. There was plenty of tender pork, which was tasty. All of this for 220 yen is cheap. The boiled dumplings were also delicious. The skin was chewy, and the filling was juicy and plentiful. The dumplings were bigger than I imagined, and I was completely stuffed beyond capacity (^^;;). I was on the verge of bursting, but it was incredibly delicious. It's understandable why there was a line. But next time, I'll just get the noodles alone (≧∀≦).
* I'm participating in a marathon soon, so I might have to refrain from eating ramen until it's over ^^;
