I had been curious about this sushi restaurant for a while. It is a casual sushi place, but the lunch prices start at 780 yen, which is reasonable. In addition to freshly made sushi, the lunch sets also come with chawanmushi, salad, and miso soup (with shrimp heads), which was a nice surprise. However, this time the full lunch set I ordered was a bit disappointing. On a certain holiday, I had a GoTo Eat ticket that I wanted to use, so I went with a companion. We decided to go to a sushi restaurant in the Shikishima Building. The restaurant opened at 11:30 am. We were given the option of sitting at the counter or at a table, and we chose a table as it would be easier to take photos. The chawanmushi and salad were served as soon as we sat down, which was surprising. My companion ordered the Ladies' Lunch for 950 yen, and I thought about ordering the 950 yen B Lunch, but decided to go for the Full Lunch set for 1,350 yen instead. I first tried the chawanmushi, which was warm and decent. The salad, however, was not very appealing. Before we even placed our order, the dishes were brought to us, which was a nice touch, but the taste was lacking. Nevertheless, I was hoping that the sushi would be delicious. The most affordable lunch set at 780 yen includes chawanmushi, salad, 8 pieces of sushi, and miso soup, which seemed like a good deal. If I come back next time, I would like to try this at the counter. This time, I ordered the Full Lunch set with 12 pieces of sushi for 1,350 yen. I was expecting both quantity and quality to be good, but... The sushi had a top nigiri, but it turns out that having 12 pieces does not mean they are top quality. The toppings included sea bream(?), tuna, squid, tuna, shrimp, salmon, mackerel, scallop, squid ink (with sauce), salmon roe, and flying fish roe, plus a few extras. The shrimp head soup that came with it was delicious. As I started eating, I realized that the sushi was not as good as I had hoped. Some pieces were decent, but others were disappointing. Overall, there was nothing exceptional. I didn't leave anything on my plate, but my companion's Ladies' Lunch was not good at all. They ate in silence, and the food lacked flavor. As we were about to leave, a staff member reminded us that we had forgotten the matcha ice cream (you could choose between coffee and ice cream). It was brought to us quickly, but the matcha flavor was very strong and bitter. If I had tried the 780 yen lunch set, I might have been more impressed by the value. If I have the chance to go back, I would like to try that set, but since there is another sushi restaurant I want to try in the area, it may be a while before I return. More and more customers were arriving, including some with suitcases. They may have come from a distance or maybe they were Sapporo residents about to depart. In any case, the restaurant seemed to be thriving.
