Country Ma'am cookies are delicious. I like both the plain and chocolate versions. By the way, my wife, who is only beautiful, doesn't like Country Ma'am cookies but she said they are delicious. I personally prefer the plain ones. They are delicious. I enjoyed them with black coffee, creating a different taste experience. It's pure joy for a food lover. Hallelujah!

I received a souvenir from Asahikawa in December 2021. Asahikawa Sei Sabure Zouki contains two types of chocolate and white chocolate. It is best enjoyed by chilling it in the freezer. The chocolate becomes crispy and firm, while the sabre maintains a raw texture, making it very delicious.

I stopped by to buy souvenirs. Although The Sun Kurouto is famous for "Kura Namazake," you can also buy it in Sapporo (lol). This store also has refrigerated products! I forgot the official name and price of the chiffon cake, but it was supposed to be cheap. It may not be as fluffy as I thought. There is a little cream inside. This cream was delicious, with a light custard whip feeling. I would have been happier if there was more cream. I am satisfied to be able to eat products that are not available in Sapporo (*'ω'*)

"The Sankurodo" in Asahikawa. I arrived early today, so I got there ahead of schedule. The original restaurant I planned to visit was closed, so I had to adjust my time and decided to stop by "The Sankurodo". I wanted to buy something to take home, and what caught my eye was a fairly large chiffon cake. I love chiffon cakes, but since I already had plans to buy various other items today, buying a large cake would just earn me my wife's anger. However, when I saw the price was only 360 yen, I quickly ordered it. It's a high-class store with a sophisticated atmosphere and attitude… well, it's more like a department store basement level. The lady there was older but very proper. I cut the cake into four pieces and tried a piece. I had imagined it would be light and fluffy being a chiffon cake, but it had a surprising texture. It wasn't as light as I had expected, but that wasn't a drawback. The sweetness was subtle, following the recent trend of less sweet desserts, but the whipped cream complemented it nicely. It was a delicious chiffon cake. I'm glad I only bought a quarter, otherwise I might have ended up eating more.

The first time I tried Kuranama was as a souvenir from a junior colleague at work. I was surprised because I usually prefer moist sweets. Since then, it has become a staple souvenir from Asahikawa for me personally. This time, I also tried the Hokkaido strawberry milk flavor for the first time! The strawberry scent is nice, but personally, I still prefer the almond flavor. With black coffee, it can be a good option for breakfast or lunch.

I bought some Kura-nama at "The Sun Kurabito Kura Seiko Factory Store" in Asahikawa. It's really delicious.

The sashimi is delicious. There is white and black, but I prefer the black.

This is a confectionery shop in Asahikawa. Kura-nama is one of the famous sweets here. This time, I purchased the Kura-nama Premium Petit Caramel. It is a slightly smaller size compared to the regular Kura-nama. The cookie dough is quite moist with caramel filling inside. There are two kinds included, one is cocoa and the other is plain. This cookie may be a bit divisive in terms of preference. It has a unique texture that is hard to describe. It may not be suitable for those who prefer the crispy traditional cookies.

Mr. Kura from The Sun... has become one of the representative shops in Asahikawa in recent years. Kura-nam, Kama-steamed Kura are famous. This is a group of the long-established Asahikawa shop Roba Kashiji. Other brands include Roteldo Hokkuru Club. Today, I visited the "Kura Factory". The location is right near the entrance of Asahiyama Zoo. The store is crowded with families and couples. There are plenty of free samples available, which is nice. For souvenirs, I bought "Kura" which was wrapped so no photo. For myself (family), I bought the azuki and pumpkin flavors of "Yuuyake Koyake Kura". I tried them right away. The moist dough is not too sweet. The azuki one may be more delicious? You can peek into the factory through the gaps. It's not a factory tour, so I just wanted to share that I went to the factory today!

TheSun Kurouto-san's favorite is the moist cookies. The package is the "Asahiyama Zoo" version, which gives a warm and cozy feeling. There are versions with white chocolate and milk chocolate. It seems that the taste changes a bit when microwaved. I would like to try it next time. White chocolate and milk chocolate, which one is more popular? It depends on personal preference, but I prefer milk chocolate.

On the second day of my trip to Hokkaido on May 11, 2012, I stopped by a recommended place on the way to Asahiyama Zoo. There were plenty of samples available, so I tried various things and ended up getting full quickly (lol). The Kura-nama was like a thin version of Country Ma**o, but I strangely liked its thinness. Since it's raw chocolate, it's a bit difficult to eat when stored at room temperature (lol). It's a bit easier to eat when refrigerated. It's more delicious when chilled.

I revisited in September. The soft serve ice cream from Kurou. The taste was honestly nothing special, seemed like a typical flavor. The limited edition orange chiffon cake they were selling was actually better. It felt like a waste to sell it for 500 yen!*******************************************************************************************************I went to Asahikawa during the long weekend. It was my first time driving that far. The main purpose was, of course, Asahiyama Zoo. I won a passport too! On the way, I came across a confectionery shop that sells my favorite fresh sablé cookies!!! I couldn't believe I found it here! I bought the Asahiyama Zoo version for souvenirs. For home, I got three types of fresh sablé cookies in black, white, and gold. Personally, I think the black one is the best (*・艸・) It tastes even better when eaten with coffee!! The soft sablé cookies are recommended even for grandparents. They even gave me additional fresh sablé cookies for their first anniversary. My belly fat is going to get even thicker... My mouth keeps rebelling against my intention to "lose weight", yes.

I stopped by here on my way back from Asahiyama Zoo, enjoying it until closing time in the evening on the second day of my trip to Asahikawa. This review is for takeout use in the evening on a weekday. Although it is a factory, there is a shop attached and it is very clean with a spacious parking lot. It is recommended to stop by after visiting the zoo. "The Sun Kurando" is a shop in Asahikawa, so if you have come all the way to Asahikawa, it would be nice to buy these sweets as souvenirs from Asahikawa instead of the typical Hokkaido sweets that you can buy at New Chitose Airport or in Sapporo. Perhaps because it was a weekday, there were no other customers in the store besides us. There are plenty of samples of Baumkuchen, dorayaki, and raw sablé, so it's fun. There is a mineral water server in the store, so you can enjoy various flavors while refreshing your mouth with water. My older child seemed to like the dorayaki, as he ate about half of one during the tasting (of course, we also bought some for takeout). The dorayaki with the product name "Hōjōzō" seems to be the main product of this store, and although I didn't eat it, my wife and child said it was delicious. What I liked was the raw sablé called "Kurasē." There are three types: black, white, and gold, each with chocolate, white chocolate, and caramel flavors. It has a chewy texture that is far from the image of a normal sablé, so some people may not like it, but I liked this rawness. It lasts for about a month, making it perfect for souvenirs. I bought the gold and black ones after sampling them because they were particularly delicious. The people I gave the souvenirs to had positive feedback. It's recommended and costs around 100 yen per piece.

In Asahikawa's PR magazine "Liner," there was a special feature on soft serve ice cream and this soft serve was introduced. My preference is for a rich, creamy vanilla flavor rather than a light one. Since Sanzouto's soft serve was very close by, I decided to go try it out. The shop is located on Dobutsuen Street, so it's very easy to find. My child was still a baby, so I stayed in the car while my mother went to buy it, so I have no idea about the atmosphere of the shop or the staff's demeanor. As for the size of the soft serve, it was normal. The taste was... indeed delicious. However, as someone who is particular about soft serve, it was just delicious in a normal way for me. I didn't really feel like I wanted to eat it again. By the way, Sanzouto's popular confection "Zao" is a moist cookie??? It's sure to have mixed reviews.

Kurumi is a familiar snack to Hokkaido locals, you can find it sold everywhere (even at Lawson, they had melon flavor too). I realized I never really reviewed it, so here we go! Kurumi (White Chocolate) is a type of snack I often eat, but I don't think I've had the white chocolate version before. I always thought it had white bean paste inside, but it's actually white chocolate. It has a nice white chocolate flavor and I might even prefer it because it's sweeter. The texture is like soft cookie dough. These kinds of snacks are often sold at souvenir shops, and buying Hokkaido's classic souvenirs is always a good idea!

I found this snack in Asahikawa at the A-Coop Honbetsu. They also had Noroman, but unfortunately it was sold out. It seems that Asahikawa snacks are popular even though there are no specialty stores in Tokachi. The snack I tried is called "Kurasou" from the confectionery on the hill, The Sankurodo. It is a milk chocolate sandwiched between soft sablé cookies. The texture is moist with a slightly crunchy feel, and the milk chocolate is delicious. It's interesting and enjoyable to try snacks from different regions. Thank you for the meal.
