When it comes to Sapporo, of course I had to visit Toratai again! The atmosphere at the counter is great, and even though there were two of us today, drinking alone while chatting with the chef is always fun. I enjoyed the recommended sake by the chef, along with the hot and fluffy texture of the melt-in-your-mouth shirako tempura and the delicious sujiko tempura that doesn't even need any sauce. The appetizers and the sake were all delicious and made the sake go down smoothly. The sake was also recommended by the chef and all of them were tasty! I'm thinking of going again tomorrow. Delicious food, sake, thank you for the meal!

This is a spontaneous visit after drinking at the previous two places, but I haven't had any sake yet so I came here in search of some. It's late, so I should be able to get in. As expected, there are seats available at the counter. I asked for a recommended sake first. It's a sake from Kochi called "Bunkajin Junmai Ginjo Suisei," made using Suisei from Higashikawa in Kochi. The names Aoki and Onoue on the label are the names of the rice producers. It has a sharp taste that brings out the best of Suisei. The appetizer is the usual fried horse mackerel, which never disappoints and is deliciously nostalgic. For the second drink, it's a sake from Nagano. It's an "active sake." I like the fizzy feeling of active sake. It's the "Juroku-dai Kurouemon," which is surprisingly crisp. The sake pairing is the owner's proud dish of tempura with salmon roe. It was a bit salty as mentioned, but really brings out the flavor of the sake. With just this dish, I feel like I could have three more glasses of sake. We chatted about random things and before I knew it, I became the last customer. I'll head home now. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant on August 4th. I mentioned that I have bad knees and cannot sit on tatami, so they kindly changed my seating to one of the few chairs at the counter. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quiet and pleasant. The owner is reserved but very polite. The female staff, who I assume is a part-timer, was lovely and provided excellent service. The food was delicious with high-quality ingredients and skillful cooking. It was evident that they take care in selecting their ingredients. I would like to visit again in the future.

I chose the sashimi platter with 7 types of fish including shark, halibut, and hokke, which are rare and not usually eaten. I was very satisfied with being able to eat such unique sashimi. In particular, the shark's fin was crunchy and had a delicious sweetness, it was the best! It goes well with local Japanese sake. I had a great time with a rugby player from Kyoto who I met at the Japan national team send-off party. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I went drinking with a friend. The place is right in the middle of Susukino and very convenient. The seafood is delicious. However, the portions are small for the price, and there are only fried foods other than seafood. On top of that, the staff smokes in the kitchen, so it smells like cigarettes. In this day and age, there shouldn't be smoking in restaurants. I probably won't go back.

The reviews were very good so I went to drink. The fish was fresh and delicious, but overall, the price, portion, and taste didn't seem to match. And most importantly, the all-you-can-drink alcohol was bad. It was my first time at a place where even the lemon sour was bad, so I give this rating.

Today, after work, I came to be healed by delicious food with my colleagues. The restaurant had a small sunken kotatsu area with 4 tables, and I was a bit concerned that smoking was allowed inside. The prices were surprisingly cheap, like 350 yen for one oyster. The corn tempura and cockles were delicious as well.

The venison tataki was quite delicious, with no gamey taste and not tough to chew. The sashimi, especially the shark flounder, was delicious with a chewy texture and a subtle yet flavorful taste. The restaurant has limited seating, so it's better to make a reservation. The atmosphere is calm and the air conditioning is strong (20 degrees).

I went on a business trip! I visited this restaurant because the oysters were delicious last year, and even though I made a same-day reservation, I was able to get a table. I arrived around 8 pm and the restaurant was full. It's a popular place. I ordered fresh oysters and grilled oysters, which were delicious, so I also tried to order steamed oysters but they were sold out. What a shame! But the oysters were big and really tasty. I was drinking sake and getting more and more drunk. In addition to the oysters, I also enjoyed herring sashimi and Okhotsk atka mackerel sashimi, unique seafood from Hokkaido, in a nice atmosphere and at a reasonable price. I had a very happy time and would love to go back when I visit Hokkaido again! Thank you for the meal ☻

It's convenient to stay open late. The main dishes are fish and shellfish, but there is also a wide variety of meat, vegetables, and fried foods. We were able to enjoy a variety of dishes! There was also a wide selection of Japanese sake unique to Hokkaido. The food and drinks were delicious, thank you for the meal.

First visit. "Kaisen Sumibi Dokoro Torata" on Saturday, June 10, 2023. For dinner on the second day of my trip to Hokkaido, I visited "Kaisen Sumibi Dokoro Torata" in Susukino. I made a reservation two months in advance because I heard they serve very delicious seafood dishes. I arrived at 20:00 as scheduled, entered, sat down, ordered, and at 21:50, paid the bill and left very satisfied. The course with all-you-can-drink (4500 yen per person) included fresh oysters, large boiled prawns, assorted sashimi, fatty tuna, and more. It's great to have fresh oysters even at this time of year in Hokkaido. The prawns were large and delicious, and the fatty tuna was both generous in portion and tasty. Everything that followed was also good. It was a very satisfying dinner with Sapporo Classic beer and delicious seafood. Thank you for the meal! #Kaisen Sumibi Dokoro Torata #Susukino

I visited a calm seafood izakaya that opens at 5:00 PM. I forgot to take photos when I visited 4 years ago, but this time I managed to remember (*・ω・)ノ I ordered a sashimi platter, fresh oysters, and asparagus tempura, all of which were delicious and reasonably priced. I enjoyed a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option and now I'm heading to my second stop.

Located on the 8th floor of a mixed-use building, this restaurant was fully booked even though I had made an early reservation. It seems like the locals like to start drinking early (laughs). The seafood looked delicious, so I chose this restaurant. They had a wide variety of menu options, especially when it came to sashimi. The sashimi, grilled fish, and a la carte dishes were all delicious. I particularly enjoyed the grilled fish. What made me happiest was that the cost performance was great - it was around 4000 yen per person. The restaurant is small, so it's preferable to make a reservation. We ate in a tatami room, but the seating was a bit cramped and the tables were small (laughs).

Today's second bar was at the seafood charcoal grill restaurant Torata-san. We started with draft beer, followed by seared bonito, grilled asparagus tempura, and steamed clams in sake. The atmosphere was cozy with a counter and raised seating area. Despite it being a weekday, the place was quite busy. Everything was delicious.

Counter and three small raised seating areas in the back, it's a cozy little shop where we raised our glasses. The surprising thing was the drinks. Almost no carbonation. Please refill the gas... However, the food was delicious. The fresh oysters were outstanding, and the mackerel sashimi was tasty. All of this for just around 800 yen, a true gift from Hokkaido. The bonito tataki had a nice balance of smoky flavor and red meat taste. The stir-fried cartilage had a junky seasoning that goes well with sake or rice. I'm happy to find an izakaya with these kinds of dishes. It's a shame about the drinks lacking carbonation. The food was delicious! Thank you for the feast.

The oysters from Kushiro were very cost-effective and delicious! The raw oysters were plump and easy to eat, while the tsubugai (whelk) was a bit small for the price. I tried hokke (Okhotsk atka mackerel) sashimi for the first time and found it to be not oily and refreshing. Overall, the flavors were delicious!

I made a reservation and went to the restaurant. The atmosphere felt different from what I saw on Tabelog. There was a notice saying that the chef had changed and some dishes were not available. I decided to order anyway. I had a sashimi platter with five kinds of fish, including flounder, herring, yellowtail, octopus, and cherry salmon. I also had delicious asparagus tempura and squid marinated in miso. The marinated squid and sake were excellent. Overall, I enjoyed the meal. Thank you.

While wandering around Susukino, I found a place where I can drink Japanese sake using Google Maps. The shop is located in a spot that you would never find just by walking normally. The interior is a bit small but very clean and cozy. The seafood was delicious! I also got to try some unique local sake.

The first restaurant on the Hokkaido tour. Located on the 8th floor of a building. The interior has a counter with 4-5 seats, and a raised seating area that can accommodate up to 10 people, but it's a small restaurant so reservations are recommended. Started with Sapporo Classic. The appetizer is freshly fried horse mackerel! The best. Today's orders are: - Oysters from Akkeshi served raw and grilled - Tsubu salted fish innards - Kushiro live-shucked hokke sashimi - Tomakomai surf clam sashimi - Hanasaku botan shrimp - Asparagus tempura (BIG size) The dishes are simple but all delicious without complaint. Especially the hokke sashimi was my first time trying it. The surf clam was also very large and satisfying to eat. The sashimi is popular, so be careful as some items may sell out later in the day.

Second visit, the appetizers are delicious! All-you-can-drink is available on the day and it's a great deal for drinking♪ However, the sour drinks are very weak in alcohol content. Beer is fine, but it's a shame that the food is accompanied by disappointing drinks. I almost forgot to take photos...

Sapporo City Chuo-ku Seafood Charcoal Grill Restaurant Tora Tai. Ordered: All-you-can-drink x2, Fresh oysters, Octopus head sashimi, Smoked sashimi platter, Tempura of salmon roe, Grilled Atka mackerel, etc. The beer was served in a beautiful glass with nice foam. The seafood was delicious, especially the smoked sashimi. The octopus head sashimi was cut in a nice way, making it easy to eat. The Grilled Atka mackerel was a new and impressive dish. The tempura of salmon roe was a unique and delicious experience. The salty taste went well with the drinks. Enjoyed drinking beer and had a great time. Thank you for the delicious meal. Thank you very much!

In Sapporo Chuo-ku, I couldn't resist the craving for fresh grilled oysters at Torata, a seafood charcoal grill in Susukino. I ordered grilled oysters x3, assorted sashimi, and scallop fry. The oysters were delicious, rich in minerals and satisfying. The sashimi included salmon, octopus, and flatfish. I enjoyed them with drinks. The scallop fry was visually appealing and tasted amazing with a squeeze of lemon and a dash of soy sauce. The dishes here are creatively prepared and delicious. I left feeling satisfied and ready to move on to the next restaurant. Thank you for the meal.
