The dishes were served quickly and had a light flavor, which I found delicious. While there were some dishes sold out, everything I tried was tasty. I regretted not ordering the large size of the Five Ingredient Fried Rice because it was so good. They also offer a course where you can enjoy 8 popular dishes for 1,500 yen, but it requires a minimum of 3 people, so I recommend gathering a group to try it. The spicy shrimp and flavorful sweet and sour pork make you crave for rice. The plump fried dumplings and fluffy fried rice were incredibly delicious as well. I wanted to eat more, so I ordered additional items like boiled dumplings, fried shrimp, and stir-fried garlic sprouts, all of which were delicious. Both the fried and boiled dumplings are a must-try. The cost performance was high and I left the restaurant extremely satisfied.

Even though I go drinking in Susukino, I rarely cross the Sosei River. This time, after eating grilled chicken skewers alone, I decided to try out a local Chinese restaurant that I have been enjoying recently. I walked east on Route 36 in Susukino, passed through the building district, crossed the Sosei River, turned right just before the Toyohira River, and saw a quaint shop. It was around 7 pm, and there were people having a party and a middle-aged man drinking alone (just like me, a middle-aged man drinking alone, haha). I sat at the counter, ordered the pickled vegetables and Qingdao beer that I remembered, and since the pickled vegetables were a complimentary dish, I ordered a stir-fried pickled vegetable dish. I also ordered the "two-color fried chicken and shrimp," "three-color cold dish," and "5 grilled dumplings" that are often mentioned in reviews. The two-color fried dish had quite a portion... I couldn't finish it at the second place, so I decided to get a takeout container early. It wasn't a place for a solo second round of drinks. I couldn't bring myself to try the snow crab, but I intended to order the "takeout pickled vegetables 1 kg can" listed at the register for 700 yen, but what came out was a portion of cut pickled vegetables in a plastic container. Well, I took it home, but I couldn't help but wonder about the 1 kg can.

I was recommended by a local to visit a long-established popular Chinese restaurant in Susukino. It has a classic Chinese restaurant exterior. We were seated in a spacious private room at the back. We started with a highball and pickled vegetables as an appetizer, which were delicious. The dish I was most excited to try at this restaurant was the "Daigaku Imo" (sweet potatoes coated in syrup). First, a container of water was placed in front of us, followed by piping hot Daigaku Imo. We used chopsticks to dip the hot syrup-covered sweet potatoes into the water to harden the syrup. It was quite a task but also enjoyable. If you don't do this step before eating, the syrup will harden completely, making it impossible to eat. It felt like I was a candy craftsman. When you lift the sweet potato, the syrup hardens and becomes very crunchy. Breaking the syrup while eating the sweet potato was delicious. Achieving this goal made the visit to this restaurant worthwhile. This is an experience everyone should try at least once.

I've always wanted to visit the Chinese Northeast Restaurant. My friend and I finally went there. We were struggling with what to order when we found a great deal - 8 dishes for 1500 yen per person! However, it was for 3 people or more. We decided to try our luck and asked if we could still get the deal by paying for 3 people, and they agreed. We ordered potato salad, chashu (roast pork) cold dish, mapo tofu, fried chicken, fried rice, shrimp chili, and twice-cooked pork. We also added an extra order of fried chicken. The restaurant is usually bustling, but this time it was quieter, which was great for someone like me who doesn't like noisy places. Upon entering, you'll find the kitchen on the left, followed by counter seats. There are several table seats to the right. In the back, there is a spacious area with more table seats. - Grilled dumplings: Small-sized with chewy skin and nicely crispy on the outside. - Potato and pork salad: Thinly sliced potatoes with a refreshing crunch.
