Visited a ramen shop called Marutaka Ramen, which I had been wanting to try. I ordered their signature dish, Katsuobushi Shio ramen. The soup was light with a nice bonito flavor, and the saltiness was just right, complementing the broth well. The noodles were thin and straight, cooked just right. The toppings included green onions, seaweed, and a slightly rare chashu which was tender and flavorful. Overall, the ramen was delicious and satisfying. I enjoyed my meal and left the restaurant feeling content.

I came here after a long time, and the food is delicious. This place has a retro interior and a simple system similar to a school cafeteria. You order salt, then go to the counter in front of you to get your ramen. There are signs reminding you to return your dishes after eating. The water and towels are self-serve, which is convenient. The salt ramen I ordered had thick noodles similar to those in Asahikawa, and the soup seemed to be made with pork (sorry if I'm wrong). Everything was delicious and it really touched my heart. This ramen place is not refined or influenced by trends, it's just focused on protecting this ramen. Next time, I'll try the bonito salt flavor.

I visited the restaurant around 1 pm on a weekday. The interior had no counter seats, with long tables set up, giving it a cafeteria-like atmosphere. The place was about 80% full. Water was self-service from a jug. I ordered the Fish Sauce Ramen for 870 yen, with an additional 150 yen for a large portion. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The toppings were simple - chashu, seaweed, and green onions. The soup had a cloudy color and a strong seafood aroma. I could taste anchovies and various fish flavors. The noodles were thin and straight, and they mixed well with the soup. Overall, the ramen had a rich fish flavor, but it was surprisingly refreshing and easy to eat until the end. At the bottom of the soup, there was fish powder accumulated. The ramen had a rich and flavorful fish and soy sauce taste but was still light and refreshing. The portion size was just right for a man, but it might be slightly small for someone with a big appetite.

On my way home from work, I felt a little hungry so I decided to have some ramen before heading back. I searched for a restaurant within walking distance from the station that I had never been to before, and I decided on this place. The nearest station is Kita 12-Jo Station. As I walked while checking the map, I found a restaurant with a nostalgic diner-like atmosphere. Upon entering, I was told to choose any seat I liked. After placing my order, it was self-service from there. The nostalgic interior and self-service setup reminded me of the old days. I ordered the fish oil ramen and was served with cold water and tea. Even though Hokkaido University is nearby, there were many office workers. The previous customers seemed familiar with the process as they received their orders. After about 10 minutes, my order was ready for pick-up. The staff brought it to my table and apologized for the wait. The ramen came with fish powder, seaweed, green onions, and chashu. The soup was made with fish broth and a mild soy sauce base. It was easy to eat even on a hot day. The thin noodles blended well with the soup. I added a bit of pepper for some extra flavor. The gentle soup had a slight kick to it. The chashu was thin but tender. The thin noodles made it easy to slurp up. After finishing my meal, I cleared my tray and paid at the self-service counter. Despite being self-service, it was a pleasant dining experience.

Salt ramen ¥800, Menma rice ¥250, total ¥1,050. It was delicious! The soup had a strong chicken broth flavor with a hint of pork bone. It reminded me of Asahikawa ramen with a good balance of saltiness. The thin curly noodles paired well with the soup. The chashu was small and thin but had a nice meaty flavor that complemented the ramen well. The Menma rice was also tasty, with a slightly spicy and tangy flavor. I'm not a big fan of the tanginess, so I may not order it again, but it was still delicious. I would like to try the soy sauce ramen, the evening-only fried rice, and the mini pork bowl next time.

I had some errands to run in the afternoon, so I thought of having a late lunch at a leisurely pace. However, I suddenly had another task to attend to, so I had limited time and wanted something delicious quickly. It was already past lunchtime, but there was only one other customer. I ordered the fish sauce ramen. It was served to me in just 5 minutes. The thin, straight noodles were cooked perfectly and easy to slurp, and the slightly thick soup coated the noodles well, offering a rich flavor. The toppings were simple with chashu, green onions, and seaweed. Normally, it comes with bamboo shoots, but they were out of stock. Despite the rushed visit, I was able to enjoy a delicious lunch. Thank you for the meal.

I was taken to a Sapporo restaurant by a foodie friend where I tried Asahikawa Ramen. They recommended the soy sauce ramen and pork bowl, and it was delicious! Perfect (*•̀ㅂ•́)و It's a place you would drive to, and it was bustling with locals. It's true that you should always ask locals for the best food recommendations!

North 12th Street area in Kita Ward. The nearest station is Kita 12-jo Station on the Namboku Line. It is also within walking distance from Sapporo Station North Exit. Today, I visited a highly-rated restaurant here. I received good reviews a few years ago, but I don't clearly remember the taste. The interior is simple like a cafeteria. A lively older woman will serve you. With four staff members, it's no wonder the ramen is a bit pricey. As I listened to other orders, the most popular choices seemed to be the normal salt and soy sauce ramen priced at 800 yen. I wonder if they are popular? My order was the Fish Soy Sauce Ramen (870 yen). [Soup] The visual presentation is honestly not great. It's a double soup mainly made of pork and fish powder. The soup is piping hot! I initially thought the soup lacked impact, but as I continued to drink it, the flavor gradually increased, becoming more and more enjoyable. It's a light yet flavorful soup with depth, and although it made my throat a bit dry, it's truly Asahikawa ramen! [Noodles] Thin noodles with low water content. They are typical of Asahikawa, but slightly softer, which may not be in line with current trends for those used to modern ramen. These noodles are from Kato, but unlike those at Kato Ramen directly operated stores, they are not as yellow or curly, making them different. Many other shops also use this type of Kato noodles. Personally, I prefer noodles with a firmer bite. The wheat flavor and aroma were also very subtle this time. Of course, some people may love these noodles, so I won't dismiss them. However, they are firmer and the soup is richer compared to the noodles and soup at the "Fuyaya" in Nijuyonken. [Ingredients] Menma and chashu have a nostalgic flavor that many people enjoy. Since I can't particularly praise them, I won't go into detail this time. [Overall] Despite being a shop near Hokkaido University, the price of 870 yen for this quality seems a bit high. There is no parking lot or parking service, so it's a bit pricey. However, as long as there is a certain demand, it seems fine to keep things as they are. I just hope they don't raise the prices. Thank you for the meal!

Popular Asahikawa ramen shop near Sapporo Station. Visited at 12:00 on a holiday, the restaurant was almost full but customers were coming and going. The interior was simple with only shared table seating. Orders were taken verbally, and I had the Shoyu Ramen (800 yen). I added water myself and waited about 10 minutes for the steaming hot bowl to arrive. The surface of the soup had a layer of oil, typical of Asahikawa ramen, with a strong seafood (dried fish) flavor. It was refreshing yet flavorful and delicious! However, the highlight of Asahikawa ramen, the low-water content thin straight noodles, had a noticeable ammonia smell. Perhaps they were boiled for too long or used too much water? Adding a little pepper from the table helped to mask the smell, and the ramen became enjoyable. The shop's noren indicated it was the classic Asahikawa ramen shop, Kato Ramen, and the toppings included small, tender char siu slices, finely sliced menma, green onions, and seaweed. Simple and satisfying. Overall, it was a delicious Asahikawa ramen with a clear yet flavorful taste, but the ammonia smell was disappointing. It seemed like many customers ordered the miso ramen, but I am unsure if I would revisit.

I listened to my partner's request for a light ramen and we came to this place. The atmosphere inside the restaurant gave off a sense of long-standing history. It reminded me of the ramen shops I used to visit as a child. I ordered the bonito salt ramen that I had been curious about. It arrived promptly after ordering. The aroma of bonito filled the air. I took a sip of the soup first. It was light and delicious, just the way I like it. Normally, I prefer miso ramen, but I found myself slurping up this light ramen eagerly. The noodles were thin and slippery. The toppings included green onions, chashu pork, and bamboo shoots. I liked the simple and unpretentious presentation. The bonito flavor was distinct yet blended well with the noodles and soup, creating a delightful harmony in my mouth. This was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

After work in the North 13th area, I had dinner at "Marutaka" for the first time in a while. It's a popular ramen shop in Asahikawa. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and the husband and wife owners were a bit busy, so customers help out with things like serving. I ordered the "Katsuobushi Shio" ramen, which I hadn't tried before. It was so delicious! The soup had a strong bonito flavor and a gentle yet powerful saltiness. The noodles were slightly soft, which I liked. I recommend putting the seaweed in and letting it soak up the soup. The tender chashu was also very tasty. I left feeling satisfied and will definitely come back for the spicy ramen next time! Thank you for the meal.

About a 10-minute walk from Sapporo Station. It's a ramen shop that is popular among locals. The clear soup shows careful preparation. I tried their most popular bonito salt ramen. The chashu had a rich flavor and was made with pork shoulder. The noodles had a sweetness from the wheat flour and were delicious.

I visited for the first time and was expecting a light, traditional ramen, but the soup with bonito broth and noodles were well combined, and I felt like I had encountered a good ramen after a long time. I recommend this bowl to those who like ramen with a strong bonito broth. I will visit again.

I had bonito salt ramen and menma rice. The salt ramen was really light and refreshing. The ramen was delicious, but the menma in the menma rice was slightly spicy and very tasty. The restaurant was quite crowded due to its popularity, and I had to share a table and it was hard to eat slowly. Despite that, it was a bowl of ramen that makes you want to come back. Thank you for the meal.

Ramen shop in Chuo Ward, Sapporo. My favorite spot. Today, I decided to try something new and ordered the spicy ramen. I confirmed my order, but it turned out the spicy level was higher than I expected. It's always tricky to figure out if "spicy" means a little spicy or really spicy. The soup was spicier than I imagined, with a chili oil-like heat. The miso base was quite delicate and light, different from regular miso flavor. It was tasty, but I still prefer the bonito salt ramen the most. Thanks for the meal!

I had been curious about this restaurant ^ ^ I went after my husband finished trying on tuxedos! We ordered soy sauce ramen, fish soy sauce ramen, and fried rice. The soy sauce ramen was a simple and carefully made dish. It was refreshing and delicious. The fish soy sauce ramen had a strong fish broth flavor, which I personally preferred. My husband liked the simple soy sauce ramen. The noodles were the chewy and springy type typical of Asahikawa ramen. The toppings included small slices of pork, thinly sliced bamboo shoots, and seaweed. Overall, the portions were not very generous. At 800 yen, it may feel a bit expensive, especially if you have to park at a coin parking lot when coming by car. I may not be able to visit frequently, but I would like to come back again. Thank you for the meal!

On June 15, 2022 (Wednesday), for lunch I had a regular soy sauce ramen and a mini pork bowl at Marutaka Ramen. It's been a while since I had it, but I crave it periodically. I stayed at a hotel near Sapporo Station after traveling from Nopporo Station on the Hakodate Main Line. I stopped by this restaurant near the north exit. It was a lucky find as many eateries around the north exit were closed due to it being a Sunday. The interior had a nostalgic feel, with tables and round chairs, reminiscent of a Showa-era ramen or teishoku restaurant. I ordered the bonito salt ramen (¥870 tax included) and menma rice (¥250 tax included). The bonito salt ramen had a strong bonito flavor as advertised on the handwritten sign in the restaurant. The broth was rich and punchy with a generous amount of oil. The curly noodles were a perfect match for the broth. Toppings included menma, green onions, chashu, and seaweed. It was a satisfying and delicious bowl of ramen. The menma rice was a perfect side dish for the ramen, with spicy menma on top of the rice. It also tasted great, with two pieces of pickled radish on the side. I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied, and I would love to have this ramen again if given the chance. Thank you for the meal!

I wanted to eat Asahikawa ramen so badly!! I decided to go on a whim. I was debating whether to try the fish soy sauce since I was having soy sauce, but I ended up choosing the regular soy sauce first! I'm not good at taking pictures, so I should have removed the seaweed and taken a photo, haha. The soup was a bit light at first, but as I continued eating, it left a lingering taste. I feel like many people would finish this soup. I want to try the salt flavor next time. Thank you for the meal!

Fish soy sauce ramen with extra tender char siu topping located a short walk north from Sapporo Station. This is a beloved spot for Asahikawa-style ramen. It had been closed for a while, but I'm glad it's back. The soup has a rich flavor of bonito flakes, paired with straight noodles. The seasoned bamboo shoots are also delicious as always.
