I had the "Stone Pot Surf Clam Curry Ramen" at the main branch of "Aji no Daio" in Shintoku 138-3 (price: 1100 yen). It was served piping hot in a bubbling stone pot, with surf clam and seaweed on top. It was my first visit to Aji no Daio main branch since September 2012. I heard rumors about the restaurant being renovated and starting to serve morning ramen, but it seems like they are not offering morning ramen during the winter season. Inside the restaurant, there was a vending machine selling frozen curry ramen and handmade dumplings for 500 yen each. The menu included various types of ramen, dumplings, fried rice, and rice bowls. I sat at the counter and enjoyed the hot and rich curry ramen with surf clam. It was a winter limited edition dish and it was delicious. Highly recommended for those interested!

I don't understand why this review is so negative... I tried the Spicy Curry Ramen for 1280 yen. The only difference from regular Curry Ramen is the addition of chili oil and spicy miso! But for that price, it's a bit disappointing. The Stamina Gyoza also had thick skin and a lot of filling, but the taste was not good at all. Overall, it was a very disappointing lunch. (Tears)

I used to eat hokki clam curry at Marutoma Shokudo when I came to Tomakomai, but now I go to Aji no Daio. It is known as Muroran curry ramen, but it has become more famous in Tomakomai. Depending on the time, you may have to wait in line. This time, I bought a hokki clam curry and half ramen set, and had the ramen changed to curry ramen. The great thing about this curry ramen is that the soup is firmly curry, not miso or soy sauce. The soup has a thick texture and is captivating. The texture of the green onions, bean sprouts, the umami of the seaweed, and the perfect match with the chashu and noodles are all excellent. If there is a genre called curry ramen, this is definitely my favorite. The hokki clam curry loses to the strong umami of the curry ramen, but the richness of the hokki clam matches well, giving a slightly sweet and slightly spicy taste. I prefer Marutoma Shokudo for hokki clam curry, but I am happy to be able to eat it as a set. Please note that it is self-service.

After a round of golf, it's ramen time! I researched ramen shops in Tomakomai and found a hit - Ajino Daioh! Although I usually avoid chain restaurants, I had to go to the main store! I arrived around 2:30 PM and the place was packed! I ordered the set menu for a post-golf nutrition boost - the A set with fried rice and curry ramen. The curry ramen was delicious! Unlike the spiced curry ramen commonly found in Sapporo, this one had a real curry (roux) base. It was similar to curry udon and tasted amazing! The fried rice was also delicious! The curry ramen and rice disappeared quickly, it was so good! Despite the generous portion, it was easy to finish. The fried rice made me want to dive into the ramen soup with rice after finishing it! I was impressed by the unexpected curry ramen I found in Tomakomai. This ramen shop made me want to come back after golfing again!

Visited the restaurant with my partner OG after work at the planting site, and it was packed as usual with our names on the waiting list as the 5th group. There were a lot of tourists, probably due to summer vacation, judging by the mainland license plates in the parking lot. I had salt and green onion ramen, while my partner finally got to try the "zaru ramen" he had been wanting. The red, slightly spicy green onions soaked in chili oil were a hit, and we both finished our bowls clean! My partner seemed satisfied with his double noodle order. The curry-flavored dipping sauce might be a good choice even when it's warm. The salt ramen was 960 yen, green onions were 250 yen, and the zaru ramen was 700 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

When I visited the "Ajino Daioh Main Store" in search of the originator of Hokkaido's fourth most famous ramen, there was already a long line before opening. Based on reviews, I wanted to try the spicy curry ramen and my wife requested the "Hokki Gyoza," a specialty gyoza with Hokkaido surf clam. However, as someone who isn't a fan of curry, I found the spicy curry ramen to be not to my liking. The Hokki Gyoza also didn't leave much of an impression.

I went to Hokkaido for work and my senior colleague picked me up at Chitose Airport to take me to this famous place I've never been to before. There are several branches, but we went to the main store in Tomakomai, about 20 minutes from Chitose Airport. It seems to be the birthplace of curry ramen and a local specialty in Tomakomai. As it was my first time, I ordered the famous original curry ramen (mini size for 880 yen) and stamina gyoza (500 yen). Even the mini size was quite filling, so it might be enough. The hot and nostalgic curry broth had a taste that could become addictive. The gyoza was delicious with a chewy skin and a strong garlic punch. There are various types of gyoza with ingredients like surf clam and deer, but I tried the regular stamina gyoza. It was really tasty, especially if you don't mind the strong garlic smell. If you ever visit Hokkaido, I highly recommend trying this place at least once. Thank you for the meal.

Visited for lunch, the restaurant was full. I wrote my name and became the fourth group in line. The other day, I saw a neighboring customer eating "zaru ramen" and was convinced that I could handle the large portion just by looking at it. However, when the slim me was seen by the staff, they said, "The large portion comes with 3 servings." That's impossible for me, so I got a refund of 150 yen for the large portion voucher. The dipping sauces, both Chinese and curry flavors, were delicious. The zaru ramen was 700 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

I visited the original taste king main store, the originator of curry ramen, as a final meal in Hokkaido. It's about a 20-minute drive from New Chitose Airport, so it's a very convenient place to visit. In addition to curry ramen, you can also enjoy miso ramen and other dishes.

Today, my partner OG and I enjoyed a friendly meal at the garden again! This time, we tried the "Oso○" curry ramen that caught our attention last time we visited. Oso○...what is that? I have no idea haha. Basically, it's a ramen with miso curry topped with white leeks and bean sprouts. It's similar to R○menkan and easier to eat than the original curry! Oso○ curry ramen 1100 yen, flavored egg 150 yen. Thank you for the delicious meal! (^^)v

This is my review of a restaurant in Hatsukaichi, Hokkaido. I was interested in their specialty curry ramen, so I chose the original curry ramen. My friend ordered miso ramen with a side of hokki dumplings. The curry ramen was a bit different from what I had imagined - it had thick curly noodles with a spicy curry sauce poured over them. It felt more like eating curry with noodles rather than ramen. The curry itself was delicious, but I personally prefer a lighter broth. My friend preferred the miso ramen.

I want to try Hiyashi Chuka for the first time (lol). The on-site work with seedlings is expected to continue for another month, so the number of visits is likely to increase. With my partner OG, we visited at 12:20, and we were able to sit at the counter smoothly. We had curry rice together yesterday, but when we saw the ramen that another customer ordered, it looked delicious. I had the original curry with green onions, and my partner had the spicy miso with zangi to share. The restaurant was air-conditioned, but on a hot day with hot ramen and zangi... it was delicious. Original curry ramen - 980 yen, Green onion topping - 250 yen, Spicy miso ramen - 990 yen, Zangi - 400 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

At New Chitose Airport, all the restaurants had long lines, so I decided to explore a bit and found a shop that seemed delicious. Apparently, they are famous for their curry ramen. As I entered, I was greeted by a ticket machine. The interior was mostly filled with men. I like spicy food, so I chose the spicy curry ramen. Despite ordering a small size for the noodles, what came out was a huge bowl of curry ramen. The soup was thick, more like curry than soup. It made me crave rice (laughs). The medium-thick curly noodles mixed well with the thick curry. This is the kind of dish that brings bliss when you're really hungry. The spicy stir-fried pork on top added a nice mix of spiciness and fatty sweetness. The crunchy bean sprouts provided a refreshing accent. Despite being a small size, it was quite filling. It gave a sense of indulgence and fullness. Not many men would dislike this dish. Curry and ramen may seem like an unusual combination, but surprisingly, they go well together and taste delicious. Thank you for the meal. "Ajino Daio" Curry Ramen - a hit with men!

Visited with my partner OG at 12:30, and it turned out to be a popular spot with a line even after 2 years! We decided to skip the ramen due to the hot weather and both went for curry instead. We were the second group in line after writing our names. The curry was served in about 10 minutes! Although there are no pictures, there were plenty of surf clams in it. It was delicious! The curry was a bit lacking in spice for us, so we added a lot of extra spice. The portion of rice was quite large, we left about 5 bites worth. The fried vegetable curry rice cost 1230 yen. Thank you for the meal! (^^)v

After playing golf, we had a tired but satisfying gathering. I was really hungry, so I ordered the curry ramen and chashu bowl set. It was my first time trying it, and the curry ramen was quite rich and flavorful. The portion was generous and I left feeling satisfied. I will definitely be back again.

During my last visit before moving from Hokkaido to Narita, I tried curry ramen at a local restaurant. It's basically curry with ramen noodles mixed in, and it might be even more hearty than the Jiro-style ramen in Tokyo. I was glad we ordered the mini size! My wife said, "Good call!" This place is known as the originator of curry ramen, and it definitely goes well with a side of rice. Also, the hokki clam dumplings we ordered had thick skins and were satisfying to eat.

I was taken to the original curry ramen shop and it was really delicious. Since I had golf later, I ordered the original curry ramen with firm noodles for 980 yen, I think. The firm noodles were curly and had a nice chewy texture, which complemented the rich curry soup perfectly. The curry soup itself was exactly the type I like, with a perfect level of richness that made it just right as a ramen broth.

After playing golf near Tomakomai from Tokyo, I tried a local specialty called Curry Ramen. I always thought Curry Ramen was a specialty of Sanjo in Niigata, but this one had a pork bone base and a flavorful broth that made it easy to eat and delicious. Don't forget to try the garlic gyoza as well.

I visited this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon, well past lunchtime around 3:00 PM, and it was still quite busy. As it was my first time, I decided to try the recommended curry ramen and some gyoza. I took a bit of a risk with the gyoza, opting for the wasabi flavor! The curry ramen was unlike any I've had in my hometown, with a rich curry flavor that was irresistible. It's a ramen that you could easily get hooked on. The gyoza, with its chewy skin and a hint of spicy wasabi, was absolutely delicious! If I lived in Tomakomai, I would probably end up coming back here regularly. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Visited at 2:30 PM on June 1, 2023. "Aji no Daio" is a famous restaurant known for their curry ramen. I arrived in Tomakomai City, Hokkaido, last night by ferry from Oarai Town, Ibaraki Prefecture. The weather was clear this morning with a beautiful sunrise, unaffected by the typhoon. The restaurant is conveniently located along the national highway on the way from Tomakomai City to Sapporo City, and it is open all day, making it very easy and convenient for me to visit. They are currently offering a special dish called "Hokki Curry" and curry ramen using the local specialty Hokkigai (surf clam), as listed in the Tomakomai W Curry Map. There was a promotional flag outside the restaurant. Today, I decided to try their special set menu, "Hokki Curry Rice and Mini Ramen Set (Choice of Curry Ramen) for ¥1,300." I purchased the meal ticket from the vending machine and received a buzzer from the staff to wait at my seat. The food was ready in about 10 minutes. The Hokki Curry Rice had a generous amount of Hokkigai in it. It is said to be a mild curry that even children can enjoy, and it was indeed delicious without being too sweet. It paired well with the slightly spicy curry ramen that Aji no Daio is known for. The Mini Curry Ramen was almost a regular size despite being labeled as "mini," and it was satisfying to eat. As always, it was delicious. It was a delightful experience to enjoy the curry ramen from Aji no Daio after a long time, along with trying the Hokki Curry Rice for the first time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

"I mentioned that I wanted to eat curry ramen, and my colleague told me about a famous shop. I'm sorry, I didn't know about it. It's located along Route 36, so it's easy to find. You buy a meal ticket and they notify you when it's ready. They sell aprons for 20 yen, but I brought my own handkerchief as an apron. The portion seemed larger than regular ramen. It was delicious. Next time I go, I want to try the half portion and also have some gyoza."
