This time, one of the reasons for carrying out the Tama Tokachi tour. Recommended, trendy, popular, recent SNS is full of such words... I'm really tired of stealth advertising. No matter what kind of store or product it is, the catchphrase is always "Recommended! Go try it!" It's all like that. I'm not criticizing, but the medium is different. The approach is different, the way of thinking is different. That's why, in my own way, I came to Tokachi with the determination to introduce truly recommended places with beautiful scenery and delicious food that really stand out! So, I embarked on a day trip to Tokachi, a soba tour (first edition)!! First of all, the result... I can say without lying, it was "amazing." Seriously, for domestic tourists, and even for locals who have never been, I want you to go to this restaurant. Not just want, but absolutely go. The access is not perfect because there is no station nearby! If you overlook the small sign, you will continue to drive on the rural road forever!!... But that's okay. You can feel the charm of Hokkaido's Tokachi and you will definitely come to love soba even more. Please check out the details of the soba and other reviews written in each photo! (Just by looking at them, you will feel like going) Now, I had the soba here!! - Mountain Wasabi Soba 800 yen First of all, 800 yen (mori is 650 yen), the cost performance is amazing! And the "mountain wasabi" is locally grown wasabi, freshly picked and grated, so it's incredibly spicy! That's why it's delicious!! As mentioned in the menu, "whether in the soup, on the soba, or directly eaten with the soup, it's deliciously spicy"!! You can choose between thin noodles and thick country-style noodles! I chose the thick country style. Please take a look at the photos for details on "beginning" and "soup." You can feel the scent as described, and get a good sense of what the soba and soup are like! The thick country style has a strong soba scent, cleanly and carefully made with sharp edges, and the firmness is further emphasized in the cold soba, with a slightly spicy soup, dipping a little, the soba and soup match perfectly. The texture, the feel in the mouth, everything is delicious. It fits the description of 100% pure Hokkaido soba. While waiting, I read the menu, which not only shows the owner's commitment to soba but also includes answers to customer questions and soba trivia, which is so extensive that there is still much to learn and it's fun to read. Also, pay attention to the back of the receipt! There is a section where you can write "Please recommend delicious eateries," and they seem to list them based on what is written! This is it... this. This is what real recommendations are all about. A soba shop that connects customers to customers. It's wonderful... truly. (I also wrote recommendations for 2 shops, but the answers are a secret! haha) And finally, there is a sticker on the wall that says, "We are not the best restaurant in Tokachi," which conveys the love for Tokachi. The owner's love for Hokkaido was evident. I'll say it again. A safe 2.5-hour drive from Sapporo on the expressway. Soba recommended by Soba-o... please go and try it. The magnificent, vast, and grand land of Hokkaido, Tokachi. The scenery is so beautiful that you forget everything. No matter where you take a picture, it's stunning. That's how beautiful it is... And the soba shop beyond that. I am grateful to have met it. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again. And with that, the Tokachi tour review is complete! If you like, please "like/save/follow"!! Just kidding!!! haha

In the middle of a vast land, there was a soba restaurant standing alone. It was located about 100 meters down an unpaved road. They offered two types of noodles, thin and thick, but unfortunately, the thin noodles were sold out that day. I ordered the dipping soba with grated yam and soba rice ball. It was worth coming all the way here. Delicious!

The soba here is really delicious! For first-time visitors, the set with both cold and hot soba is very much appreciated. The menu is also extensive, and the tempura in the photo is only 550 yen, which is a pleasantly affordable price. The location of the restaurant may be a bit hard to find, but that adds to the charm of experiencing the Tokachi region.

Forest soba and small skewers set. 1200 yen. The location of the restaurant is excellent. It's a bit tricky to find using the navigation system. You can fully enjoy the aroma of the soba, and both the forest and seiro are enjoyable for this price! It was a great deal with a sense of dedication to soba. Thank you for the meal.

Visited around 1:00 pm. There were 4 groups of customers already. They only serve country-style soba, but no problem! Ordered Ebiten Soba (warm, large serving) and Tsukegoma Soba (cold, large serving). It took about 15 minutes for the dishes to arrive. Even though it was a large serving, the portion was manageable. The Ebiten Soba had small but delicious shrimp, and the broth and noodles were both of high quality. It was delicious! The Tsukegoma Soba had a spicy sesame sauce that was very tasty. It's a good restaurant, located on the outskirts of town, so it can be difficult to think of another place to go to if it's full.

I stopped by on my way from Sapporo to Obihiro. I arrived at 11:30 and was the first customer. The restaurant is a standalone house in the middle of nature. I took off my shoes at the entrance and entered. I tried the soba noodles and they were so delicious that I ordered an extra serving. The wasabi, green onions, and grated yam with perilla leaves were all delicious! The broth complemented the soba noodles perfectly, bringing out their aroma. The soba soup had a slight thickness to it, just the right amount of richness. The service was also excellent. In the quiet atmosphere, I simply enjoyed slurping up the soba noodles. It was truly impressive.

Second visit. The weather was nice this time, making the scenery more beautiful. I arrived at 12:20 on a weekday and there were only two groups of customers already seated. After some deliberation, I ordered the "Mountain Wasabi Soba (800 yen) with extra noodles (230 yen)." The soba noodles were thick and made with 100% new buckwheat flour during this season, while normally they contain 10% wheat flour as a binder. The thin noodles were made with a mix of 20% wheat flour. The dish arrived in less than 10 minutes. The daily side dish was pumpkin, in season. The mountain soba had a strong aroma and a rich buckwheat flavor, giving a satisfying feeling of eating soba. The locally grown mountain wasabi was very fragrant and had a strong kick when eaten. It really reminded me of Hokkaido. The dipping sauce was saltier than last time, which I liked. I finished with a thick soba-yu soup. I felt that it was even more delicious than my previous visit. It was another satisfying lunch. Since I don't think I'll be able to come in winter, I'll visit again in spring.

I ordered the kashiwa soba set for 1200 yen. I chose the inaka thick noodles. It had a refreshing and slightly spicy broth that made me eat it quickly. I prefer thicker and rougher inaka noodles, but I think this one is good for everyone. I was intrigued by the Japanese sword displayed on the tokonoma.

A popular soba restaurant in Memuro Town, located next to Obihiro City in Hokkaido. The location surrounded by fields gives a true taste of Tokachi. The day was a bit cloudy, which was disappointing. Visited at 12 pm on a weekday with only one other group of 2 customers. It seems to be always full on weekends. The restaurant is a renovated private house, where you take off your shoes at the entrance before entering. The interior is not very spacious, with tatami floors and a few table seats. Ordered the set menu "Mori soba + small kashiwa soba (1200 yen)" with thick country-style soba noodles (or thin seiro noodles). The order arrived in about 10 minutes. Water and tea are self-service. The edamame was impressive. The soba noodles were delicious, with a thickness that was not the typical country-style soba, but very tasty. According to the explanation from the owner, they use locally sourced soba from Tokachi. The dipping sauce was slightly sweet but also delicious. The warm chicken soba had a rich flavor from the chicken fat, making it tasty. Finished with a rich and delicious soba broth. Overall, the approach to the restaurant, the beautiful scenery, and the delicious soba made it a satisfying lunch. I would definitely like to visit again if given the chance.

Niku soba (930 yen) This soba has a firm and chewy texture. I'm not sure if it's traditional or unconventional, but personally, I really like this soba! The meat is on the tougher side. It's actually quite firm, but I think this firmness helps bring out the deliciousness of the meat and fat! This restaurant is known for having long wait times. I've had to wait quite a bit in the past, but this time I was the first in line so I got my order quickly. However, it seemed like the wait was going to be long for customers who arrived later. I recommend going with plenty of time to spare when you visit this placeฅ(´ω` ฅ)

I heard that you can adjust the thickness of the soba noodles... They didn't have thin noodles, so I chose thick noodles. It was a bit firm for my liking as I prefer them softer. I would like to try it again with thin noodles next time. The taste was gentle and very delicious. (*´﹃`*)

This is a report on a restaurant in the Obihiro area of Hokkaido called "Soba no Sato Bibairo" in Memuro Town. Despite being located away from Obihiro city, the restaurant received high ratings, so I arrived 10 minutes before opening to make sure I could get in. Since it was a weekday, I was the first customer and only four more customers arrived later during my visit until around 12:10 PM. The restaurant is surrounded by vast fields and offers a beautiful view of the Daisetsuzan Mountain Range. The entrance looks like a typical house entrance, and there is parking available on the premises. You take off your shoes before entering the restaurant, which has two tatami rooms with tables set up in a cozy, home-like atmosphere. The menu is easy to understand with explanations, and there are interesting sections like Q&A and customer-recommended dishes. For my first visit, I ordered the "Mori Soba + Small Kashiwa Soba Set for ¥1,200" with the choice of thin or thick noodles, and I chose the thick noodles this time. I also ordered the "Tempura for ¥550." Although there were soba-based desserts available, I decided to skip them since I planned to have gelato later. The dishes arrived in about 10 minutes, and they looked delicious. The rustic soba was served cold and hot, allowing me to enjoy both variations. Following the instructions provided by the owner, I savored the soba noodles, which were absolutely delicious. The small kashiwa soba, with its chicken broth, was a highlight for me, reminiscent of chicken ramen that I enjoy. The chicken meat was also incredibly tasty. The tempura, especially the onion and shrimp, was sweet and perfectly cooked. The soba broth was rich and comforting till the last drop. I quickly finished my meal and felt grateful for discovering such delicious soba. I would love to visit again if given the chance. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Visited around 1 pm on a Sunday. Followed the navigation by car, but ended up on a narrow road. Eventually arrived at a regular house (not a traditional one) with a few cars parked in front. The soba restaurant was located in a place that would be hard to find without prior knowledge. Took off shoes at the entrance and was guided to the tatami room. Ordered a set of cold Mori soba and hot Koshikiri soba for 1,200 yen. It was great to be able to enjoy both cold and hot soba in one set! Also added a soba grain onigiri. Had the option to choose between thick Inaka soba or thin Seiro soba, and chose the Inaka soba to fully enjoy the soba aroma. While waiting for the food, browsed through the thick menu with detailed information about soba. It was interesting and kept me entertained. The menu also included recommendations for delicious restaurants mainly in Hokkaido. It was impressive how they shared good food experiences with customers. When the food arrived, the soba was thick and uneven, showcasing the handcrafted quality. Even though it was made with 100% soba, it held together well, showing the skill of the chef and the quality of the ingredients. The dipping sauce was slightly spicy, complementing the subtly sweet taste of the soba. After finishing the meal, the soba broth had a hint of bonito flavor when mixed in. It was clear that the owner, who truly loves soba, made the dishes with care. Overall, it was a delightful experience. Thank you for the meal!

I was curious about a soba restaurant in Tokachi, and I wondered where the dining place was located. It turned out to be standing alone in the middle of a rice field! The restaurant looked like a house, and even though it was only around 11:30 on a weekday, there were already several customers inside. They had a wide variety of soba dishes, but what caught my attention was the set menu where you could try two different types of soba! I ordered the set with small kashiwa and mori soba. The soba had an irresistible aroma, and the kashiwa had a rich meaty flavor. It was a great experience to enjoy two different dishes in one visit. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting just for the food!

On October 26, 2021, I visited a soba noodle restaurant called "Soba no Sato Bibairo" in Meppu Town, Hokkaido. The restaurant is a traditional Japanese-style building with a cozy atmosphere. I ordered the Meat Soba, Tempura, and Soba Rice Ball. The soba noodles were freshly made in-house using stone-ground flour, and they were delicious with a good texture. The broth had a rich bonito flavor, and the Meat Soba had a hint of ginger which added to its deliciousness. The tempura was crispy and tasty. The service was very polite and welcoming. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I will definitely come back for more delicious soba noodles. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This is Bibairo. Long time no see! In the middle of a field in Memuro Town! The potato flowers are beautiful~ Sitting in the back room of an old farmhouse. So calming~ "Set menu: Mori Soba + small kashiwa 1,200 yen." I chose thin noodles in a sieve. Ordered "Tempura 550 yen." It arrived shortly! Wow! As expected, the set menu has a good amount of food! The soba noodles have a gentle texture! The broth is rich, but flavorful! Dipping the noodles in it is so satisfying! The tempura is crispy. Enjoying it with salt or dipping sauce! Ending with soba broth, fully satisfied! It was delicious as always at the soba restaurant! Thank you for the meal!

This restaurant is located in the middle of a field, so you definitely need navigation to find it. Parking is not a problem at all. The interior is like visiting your grandma's house, with no lines even during this season. The mountain wasabi soba with grated yam costs 800 yen, and the thick and thin soba with dipping sauce and grated yam costs 750 yen. The noodles have a strong texture and taste delicious. If you want to match the grated yam with the broth, go for the thick noodles. The aroma is amazing. The soba broth is also very tasty. I'm glad I came here.

The temperature was rising and the weather was nice, so I visited this place for the first time in about 9 years. My favorite local shop has closed down, and I haven't had the chance to explore new places since I've been away from home for a while. I was intrigued by the local mountain wasabi soba on the menu, so I ordered a large serving of thin noodles (1030 yen). The spiciness was incredibly strong and delicious. Many restaurants offer mountain wasabi as a condiment, but few grate it as finely as this place does. Usually, there is a fibrous texture and a feeling of eating the root, but this one doesn't have that fibrous feeling. Maybe that's why the spiciness is so intense. It would be amazing if this place was closer to my neighborhood.

The single-family house soba noodles featured in the Michelin Bib Gourmand guide are carefully made, evident from the taste. Arrived 15 minutes before opening, with only 1 group ahead due to Covid restrictions allowing only 4 groups inside at a time, the rest wait in their cars, resulting in a 50-minute wait at that time. You can choose between 1.3mm and 2.0mm soba noodles, with a sharp salt-based broth. The portion of soba noodles is quite small, and the soba rice ball comes with mountain wasabi soy sauce. The rice ball is also small. The soba mochi soup powder is elegantly sweet, with a fragrant and delicious soba flour mochi. The location, which seems like you need navigation to find, is also charming.

Please check the location on the navigation! It's difficult to explain (lol) On my day off at lunchtime, I decided to try out a new place. I went to a soba restaurant right in the middle of a field. There were already about 5 cars parked in the parking lot, so I was prepared to wait. Luckily, there was no wait inside the restaurant, and I was seated right away. The restaurant isn't very big, it's quite cozy. The name of the restaurant is probably derived from the name of a mountain in the Hidaka Mountains (Bibairo Mountain). I ordered the mountain wasabi soba and tempura set. After about 15 minutes, a neatly cut 100% buckwheat soba and tempura arrived. The noodles were thick, about 2mm, but thin enough. They had a good texture and were satisfying, but the portion felt small so I think getting the large size would be enough. The tempura came with matcha salt and tempura dipping sauce, and the matcha salt was delicious. However, the tempura portion was small so it might feel a bit lacking. But the soba was delicious, so thank you for the meal today.

The way to the shop leads through the fields of Tokachi, and near the shop, there is a gravel road of several hundred meters. It is a normal residential house. Upon entering, you take off your shoes and proceed to find low tables. There was a new set menu added since my last visit, which includes "mori soba" and hot soba combination. I ordered the "mori soba and small kake soba" set for 1,050 yen. You can choose between "thin seiro (1.3mm)" and "thick inaka (2mm)" noodles, but the cold soba and hot soba noodles are the same. I chose "thick inaka" noodles. Since I was the only customer, I was served promptly. The meal came with a small dish of potatoes coated in black sesame. As it was cold, I decided to have the warm "kake soba" after finishing the "mori soba". The condiments served with the tray were a small amount of green onions and wasabi, and the dipping sauce was on the thicker side. It is customary to dip the noodles slightly in the sauce to enjoy the aroma of the soba. The noodles were not as thick as expected for "thick inaka" at 2mm, but they were neatly cut. The soba is freshly milled daily, without any chemical seasonings or additives, using spring water from the Hidaka Mountains, allowing you to enjoy the flavorful soba. While you cannot fully enjoy the scenery while dining, the surrounding fields add to the charm of the shop. Good customer service is also essential for the quality of the shop. It would be better if the staff could be more informative and attentive to customers, especially for first-time visitors. Despite some shortcomings in customer service, the shop has many positive aspects, and I hope they will continue to improve.
