You can enjoy various Nikka whiskies in a nice and authentic atmosphere. The place is located about a 3-minute walk from Susukino Station. The interior has an authentic feel with a counter and sofa seats. Jazz music plays, creating a calm atmosphere. It's a bar where you can relax. The menu mainly consists of Nikka whiskies, including some limited editions from the Yoichi Distillery. They also offer cigars. Here's what was ordered: ★Tsuru (with soda) ★Taketsuru (with soda) First, a charm with chocolate and dried fruits. Tsuru has a hint of citrus with a mild peat flavor. Taketsuru is creamy and refreshing. It made me realize once again how deeply rooted Nikka is in Sapporo. Thank you for the meal.

A third-party bar with a vibe similar to a Nikka-owned establishment. Located one block away from the Susukino intersection. When I asked the bartender, they said, "There is no Nikka-owned bar here." The table charge of 1000 yen is quite high, but they served complimentary chocolate and I thought it was worth it. I had a Tsuru Non-Age for 2000 yen and a Yoichi 10-year for 3000 yen. It's a bit pricey, but it's better than paying thousands for a rare bottle. Plus, I enjoyed chatting with the bartender while savoring the whiskey. It was a great experience.

This bar is probably the most famous bar in Susukino, isn't it? As the name suggests, it specializes in Nikka whisky. It is located on the second floor of a mixed-use building right in the heart of Susukino. From the outside, you can see a dimly lit establishment. Even on weekends, the place is packed with people. A group of four was turned away before us. Is it full? Luckily, we were a party of two and were seated at the counter. The interior has a nice atmosphere with the same dim lighting as seen from outside, making it a sophisticated social spot for adults. Now, what to drink? Maybe start with a glass of Yoichi on the rocks. Then, how about a Taketsuru with soda? The glasses are elegant and luxurious, confirming that this is indeed a high-class bar. The prices are not as high as expected, and the service is excellent. It's a great place to bring adult guests. Visiting Susukino in Sapporo will surely leave you with memorable experiences.

This is a great place to entertain guests or friends from out of town, and of course, it's popular with tourists too. The whiskey here is delicious and has a nice atmosphere. I ordered a platter of dried fruits which paired perfectly with the whiskey. I also tried some chocolate which really enhanced the whiskey. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

We used to bring a bottle of Taketsuru here, so after dinner with 4 people, we enjoyed it. The interior of the restaurant is moderately dim and has a calm atmosphere, making it an adult space. The service from the staff is not too pushy... but when our glasses are empty, they come to take our order promptly. Coming here allows you to relax and enjoy adult conversations.

This is not a Nikka-owned store, but they have a variety of rare and delicious Nikka whiskies. Not only do they have a wide selection of whiskies, but their cocktails are also very tasty. Even for those who are not fond of whisky, they can smoothly recommend cocktails, which is impressive for a bar specializing in whisky. One recommended set is the "Single Malt Miyagikyo Key Malt Set," which allows you to enjoy three different flavors: malty & soft, fruity & rich, and sherry & sweet. I couldn't try the sherry & sweet from Miyagikyo, so they kindly replaced it with the sweet & peaty from Yoichi. All three had unique characteristics and were surprisingly easy to drink despite being 55% alcohol. These sets are apparently only available for purchase at the distillery, making it a very valuable experience to be able to taste all three. The "Taketsuru 21 Years" had a rich flavor and complexity befitting its age, yet it was not too heavy and had a refreshing aftertaste. The ambiance and service are top-notch, although the presence of cigars may be a drawback for those sensitive to the smell. Overall, if you want to enjoy Western spirits in Susukino, this is a highly recommended spot.

I visited Nikka Bar for the first time. I tried a tasting flight of Cafe Grain, Cafe Malt, and Taketsuru. Comparing them really helped me understand their individual characteristics. Among the three, my personal favorite was Cafe Malt. The variety of whiskies available at the bar is impressive! I would definitely like to visit again.

This is a visit for a second party. It's quiet and perfect for enjoying high-quality drinks. The first party was mainly focused on sake, so this time we enjoyed various whiskies. We stayed for about two hours and had three whiskies, feeling very satisfied. It cost around 5,000 yen per person.

This time, I would like to introduce "The Nikka Bar." A friend came from Chiba and Nara, so we visited this place as our third stop. Since we had already eaten, we decided to focus on drinking, and my friend found this place. The atmosphere of the bar was like something out of The Godfather as we went further inside, making time seem to slow down. The clientele consisted mostly of older, mature adults, with no one in their 20s, which gave off a very adult vibe. One of the unique features of this bar is that you can smoke cigars. They offer a variety of cigars, and the staff are very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions, so even first-timers need not worry. I personally never drink whiskey and actually dislike it. However, I explained my preferences to the staff, and the highball they brought me was the best I've ever had. It was a pleasant surprise to find that it didn't have any of the aspects I usually dislike, and it was the first time I realized how delicious a drink could be. Even if you don't like whiskey, with a little courage, you can discover something new. If you're interested, I highly recommend giving it a try.

I wanted to try some rare whiskies, so I asked for a tasting set. The staff recommended various things like the Yoichi distillery and a recommended ramen shop. Everyone at the restaurant was very kind and helpful. Thank you very much. I had a great time.

In April 2022, I visited a nice and cozy bar. I had a whisky highball there, although I can't remember which one. They all had a great aroma and tasted delicious. It was a long time since I had whisky. ♫

We walked from Kitashika to Lilias and decided to spontaneously choose this bar to escape the unexpectedly cold weather. We enjoyed a few glasses of Yoichi and Taketsuru Non-Age on the rocks and with water. Even though it was a younger version due to the shortage of aged whisky, we could still feel the peaty strength typical of NIKKA. We had a great time with enjoyable conversations in this adult space, which also felt liberating and private. However, the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed this time, and the service was not as attentive as usual.

The perfect place to relax and have a conversation with your boss at a second party visit. This is a quiet and calming restaurant, unlike noisy izakayas with drunken customers. The customers here are all well-mannered, and the service is excellent with perfect timing for order confirmations. However, the prices are a bit high, so I can only come here a few times a year. I love whiskey, so I always enjoy it here. I also had a glass of wine on this day, which was cheap but delicious. I had already eaten a lot at the first party, so I just enjoyed the drinks slowly. I had four drinks in two hours and it cost around 10,000 yen. I will visit again when I want to relax.

During a business trip to Sapporo, I had the opportunity to visit THE NIKKA BAR in Susukino for a nightcap. I tried the limited edition Yoichi Key Malt set, which included three different types: Peaty & Salty, Sherried & Sweet, and Woody & Vanilla. While Scotch key malts like Talisker from Johnnie Walker, Strathisla and Longmorn from Chivas Regal, and Craigellachie from Old Parr are commonly enjoyed, it's not often you come across key malts from Nikka. It was a great chance to try them out, so I made it just before closing time to enjoy the experience.

On the first day of the Sapporo and Noboribetsu GOTO trip, I arrived at the "JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo" directly connected to Sapporo Station at 7:00 pm. An hour later, I went to Susukino, the biggest entertainment district in Hokkaido, and had some "Genghis Khan" grilled lamb. Even though my stomach was already full, I couldn't resist having some "Miso Ramen" as well. Both places had long lines, so I finished eating around 10:30 pm. Originally, I planned to go back to the hotel and enjoy a cocktail at "Bar SKY J" on the 35th floor while overlooking Sapporo's night view from 150 meters above ground. However, it was already past the last order time at 10:00 pm. Then I remembered 6 years ago when I visited the Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery after being inspired by NHK's morning drama "Massan" and decided to visit "The Nikka Bar" in Sapporo. Located 100 meters east from the iconic giant sign of "The Old Man of the Whisky" at the "Third Green Building" on the 2nd floor, it is the flagship store of Nikka Bars nationwide and the only one with the title "The" in its name. The entrance, where Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky, and his wife Rita welcome you, is kept open for ventilation. The spacious counter seats are arranged with one seat empty between guests for COVID-19 safety measures. I was guided to a quiet counter seat at the back where I ordered the following: - Taketsuru 21 Year Pure Malt Glass Rock (4000 yen) - Charm Charge (1000 yen) - Raisin Butter (650 yen) In the elegant and dimly lit atmosphere of the high-end bar, I watched the young bartender's movements while a glass of "Taketsuru 21 Year Pure Malt" was served with a large ice ball. This rare brand from Nikka Whisky, known for its global popularity, has a rich and elegant taste due to its 21 years of aging. I sipped on the glass while nibbling on the "Charm" whiskey chocolate and dried fruits. The whisky has a dense fruity aroma, a round mouthfeel, a deep richness, and a subtle bitterness with a lingering finish that is delightful. The "Raisin Butter" paired well with the whisky. Just imagine, a single glass of the 25-year-aged "Taketsuru 25 Year Pure Malt" costs a whopping 10,000 yen. Despite having only one drink at this sophisticated bar, I was able to leisurely spend an hour there. I took the subway back to the hotel and went to bed early to prepare for tomorrow's visit to the Noboribetsu Onsen. Bon appétit!

On a regular night, I was taken to a second bar by my seniors. The atmosphere was authentic and the view of Susukino from the window sparkled. We sat on a comfortable sofa with five people. The staff's service was smart and good. When I was thinking about what to drink, my senior made a manly order for a bottle of Yoichi whiskey. It tasted even better than usual when sipped on the rocks in a glass that felt comfortable in my hand, looking at the large ice. The appetizers were also manly orders - the traditional special pork cutlet sandwich. Taking a big bite, the thick pork cutlet with crispy coating and crunchy shredded cabbage provided a delightful contrast in textures. Chewing it, the umami of the pork meat combined with the salty sauce. No wonder the alcohol went down smoothly. We also ordered the classic Napoli pasta tower, with a mound of beautifully red tomato sauce that had a balanced sweetness and acidity. The pasta was cooked perfectly, with a nice crunch from the onions. This could also be paired well with drinks. Lastly, we had a cheese platter with four types of cheese - white mold, Mimolette, smoked, and cream cheese with orange peel. We indulged a bit too much in this nice atmosphere. The quality of the food at this casual bar is wonderful. Thank you for the feast.

A bar where you can leisurely enjoy the night in Susukino. It has an authentic atmosphere yet is casual enough to feel comfortable. The interior is spacious with just the right amount of noise, and the live jazz piano music adds to the fantastic atmosphere. Truly a place for adults. TAKETSURU 17 years.

When you come to Susukino in Sapporo, the Nikka sign is famous, and I wanted to stop by the Nikka Bar and sit at the counter. I chose a Jack Daniel's Single Barrel on the rocks. It may be inappropriate for my status, but it made me feel good.
