On the third day of summer vacation, I, a Domini star, was feeling a bit bored so I hadn't been eating breakfast lately... But this morning, I decided to have it after a long time and it was delicious! Pork Jingisukan, beef Goro Goro beef stew, and the now classic ikura rice. It was great. They also have soft cutlets. Thank you Asahikawa. Satisfied from the morning. Satisfied.

On my first night of the business trip in Asahikawa, I stayed at Dormy Inn. For dinner, I had the comforting Hakkoryu Night Crying Soba. In the morning, I enjoyed a seafood feast with plenty of rice topped with salmon, herring, scallops, and green onions. It's truly a blissful experience to dig into this hearty meal. I wish this kind of seafood could be enjoyed everywhere in the country.

If you're not sure where to stay, I recommend Dormy Inn. The hot springs, breakfast, and customer service are top-notch. The rooms have double doors for a good night's sleep. After a restful sleep, you'll work up an appetite. I arrived around 7 o'clock and it wasn't too crowded. I kept my seat and took turns getting food. First, miso soup, then rice - both white and vinegared. The next section had the main dishes - ikura, negitoro, salmon, and other seafood. Various side dishes were available, along with salad, fried foods, beef stew, and dessert. The compact food area was packed with options. It's impossible to try everything, so I picked my favorites. The beef stew was full of meat. Beef, beef, beef! The ikura may have been small, but it was delicious! Now, where should I stay next time?

☆2022.3.15 Revisit☆ I had a business trip to Asahikawa again, following last year. I stayed at the same Dormy Inn as last year, as I had a good impression. It has hot springs too. However, I drank too much the night before and ended up falling asleep. Well, I woke up fine in the morning. Breakfast was from 6:30, so I went to eat right away. It was almost the same as last year. There was white rice, bamboo shoot rice, and vinegared rice. The sashimi selection was better than last year. There was salmon, scallops, salmon roe, crab, and more. This seafood would definitely be irresistible to those from outside the region. Personally, the best dish of the day was the clam miso soup! It was delicious!!! I love miso soup, so I always have it at buffets. I had two bowls of this clam miso soup. It was excellent. I had three bowls in total. There was also beef stew, although not shown in the photos. It had plenty of meat and the sauce was tasty. Wearing plastic gloves to get seconds due to COVID was surprisingly bothersome. I hope COVID settles down soon. It was even better than last year! The breakfast here is great! The hot spring is also nice and spacious for a business hotel. If I have another business trip to Asahikawa, I would like to stay here again. Oh, by the way, from 21:30 at night, you can enjoy a simple soy sauce ramen called "night-crying soba" as a complimentary service. I returned to the hotel at 21:00 yesterday due to drinking too much, but I fell asleep before the 30 minutes passed (laughs). I had it last year, and it's quite tasty for a complimentary dish. Thank you for the meal!!!

Night-crying soba (free) is a light soy sauce ramen served from 21:30 to 23:00. It is light but surprisingly flavorful with a strong broth and sauce. The noodles are medium-thin and have a certain "night-crying" feel to them. The portion is about half a serving. Toppings include a small amount of green onions, seaweed, and bamboo shoots. As a late-night snack or to finish off a night of drinking, this amount of night-crying soba seems just right.

The day before, I stayed at a Dormy Inn in Otaru, and today I am at a Dormy Inn in Asahikawa. I almost always stay here in Asahikawa because they have hot springs. It's tough that we can't go out and about freely due to self-restraint measures and warnings not to go to nightlife districts. It's been a year and a month since I last stayed at a Dormy Inn. Last night, I drank until 7:30 at a izakaya and then soaked in the hot spring at the hotel before going to bed. I'm an early riser, so I appreciate that Dormy Inn serves breakfast from 6:30. The menu doesn't change much at any location. All dishes are served with wrap or lid covers. It's a bit cold, but I chose a seat by the window at the counter. Grilled salted salmon, tarako (cod roe), fried egg, wiener sausage, and crab sticks with white rice. Yesterday I had salmon sanpei soup, so today I had miso soup with pork. Also, there was a vegetable salad, natto, and pickled herring. A typical breakfast spread. The price is a bit high, but it's much tastier than convenience store bento, so I'm satisfied. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Eating Out Series #6 Breakfast Edition It's morning now, the beginning of the second day of this series. Due to its affiliation with La Vista, Dormy Inn serves this seafood bowl for breakfast. Due to the current situation with COVID-19, the hotel staff serves the food for you, and they even asked if I wanted extra salmon roe on top, to which I happily agreed. The buffet area is well-prepared for safety measures, with individual plates covered in plastic wrap. It feels safe to dine here. They brought me a breakfast similar to the one in the photo. I tried to balance my meal and include some vegetables, and the green salad was of high quality. It feels like it's good for my health. The seafood bowl brought me happiness, and the extra salmon roe added a luxurious touch that made the meal even more enjoyable. The hotel that provided such a clean and rich breakfast deserves a round of applause. Thank you very much.

Eating Out Series ⑥ Late Night Eats Edition After leaving the wine bar, I usually stop by the convenience store to pick up something before heading back to the hotel. Due to time constraints, I can't go to my room first, so I check in right in front of the front desk (laughs). I usually go for some kind of noodle dish to wrap up the night. The portion size is just right, and the hotel's kitchen staff always prepare it efficiently. The contents of the bowl are nicely balanced, and it feels like they really take care of me when serving the food. Perhaps because of this sense of security, even when I go close to closing time, I see several other guests enjoying their meals, indicating that it's quite popular. Just like when I had it in Wakkanai, the service at this Dormy Inn really knows how to win over their customers' hearts, don't you think?

I stayed at a hotel to visit Bar Orel, a Michelin-listed restaurant in Biei. It's about a 30-minute drive from Biei, with a convenient location. Whenever I go to Bar Orel, I always stay at Dormy Inn. The hotel has a large communal bath with a sauna and a cold water bath, which is quite nice. For just sleeping, it's no problem. The breakfast is sufficient for the price of the stay, and I think it offers good value for money. It used to be a buffet style, but due to the impact of COVID-19, it has changed to a bento box style. As a breakfast at a business hotel, I think it's excellent.

I stayed for one night on a Friday and was able to stay for just over 5,000 yen with breakfast included. I had dinner out and now it's time for breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast at this hotel was different from the usual Dormy Inn breakfast. They were taking extra precautions due to the new coronavirus, so the breakfast setup was different. The side dishes were served in a bento box style. The famous ikura (salmon roe) on top of the seafood bowl was served behind a plastic curtain. The basic ingredients were already in the bowl, and you could add as much ikura as you wanted. The staff even added more ikura for me. There were also curry, rice porridge, and Western-style dishes available, making it a satisfying breakfast. I'm sure many people look forward to this breakfast when they stay at the hotel. Thank you for the delicious meal. I'm full and satisfied in the morning.

The breakfast at Dormy Inn in Hokkaido is always a hit! I have stayed in Wakkanai, Kitami, Abashiri, and Kushiro (La Vista) with Wakkanai and Kushiro offering seafood bowls. I haven't stayed in famous breakfast spots like Hakodate (La Vista), Otaru, Tomakomai, and Sapporo yet, but I have high expectations. This time, I stayed in Asahikawa for the first time. The breakfast style has changed from buffet, probably due to the influence of the Wuhan situation. There is a hot spring and the room is comfortable. Everything is perfect, and now I am just waiting for the main breakfast. At this time of year, there are fewer customers. First, I grab a tray and pick up dishes in order. First, various side dishes in a bento box-like arrangement. Then, seafood bowl, curry, small dishes, and salad. The tray is full and it's almost like a buffet? A wonderful style that considers infection prevention. It looks satisfying and is a great way to start the day. The seafood bowl has ikura, scallops, negitoro, salmon, and sweet shrimp. It's delicious! You can also get seconds. The fried chicken, cream croquette, shiokara, etc., are all popping with flavor. Isn't this better aesthetically than picking up individual dishes at a buffet? It's more efficient. And the breakfast staff at any Dormy Inn are fantastic. They greet you with a smile and provide excellent service. If you're unsure where to stay, just go with Dormy Inn!

I stayed for 2 nights, and on the morning of the first day, I had to pick up my sons so I didn't take any pictures or post anything (also because I was a bit hungover and lazy until the morning). On the second night, I went with my two sons. The quality of the food was a bit low, especially the grilled fish. However, having sunny-side-up eggs was a plus for me. Unlimited servings of salmon roe would be irresistible for those who love it. I was happy to see mixed rice in addition to white rice. I had it for both nights. As I mentioned before, the energetic greetings from the staff like "Good morning!" and "Take care!" were wonderful. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I was excited for my first flight in a long time, but it ended up being delayed by 2 hours before takeoff (>_<) I had to change gates twice. My reserved train seat went to waste, but safety comes first. Finally arrived in Asahikawa, one hour later than planned. I was quite tired from all the running around. I went straight to bed that night. The next morning's breakfast was amazing, typical of Hokkaido! I had salmon roe, grilled saury, lamb, okra, grated yam, green onions, and hot spring eggs. I usually prefer bread for breakfast, but this time I enjoyed the Japanese breakfast. The room was spacious enough for one person and had a hot spring bath. The variety of breakfast options at the hotel was satisfying.

I planned to have a seafood bowl for breakfast before departure! Salmon, shrimp, tuna, and lots of salmon roe. I even had two bowls of rice in the morning! I also enjoyed delicious night-crying soba for dinner. There are restaurants nearby for dining out, and there is also an open-air bath. It was a very delicious birthday (*'▽'*)

I chose to stay at Dormy Inn Asahikawa instead of my usual hotel, East Inn, on the last Sunday of the year. It was cheaper to stay at Dormy Inn because of the year-end discount. Although it is a bit less convenient as it takes about 10 minutes to walk from Asahikawa Station, especially in winter, there were several reasons why I chose Dormy this time. Despite the slightly inconvenient location, it is still within a 10-15 minute walk, has a sauna and large public bath with an outdoor bath, offers an attractive breakfast buffet, and all of this for a price in the 5000 yen range. Personally, I value having a sauna in a business hotel. After a late check-in around 8:45 pm due to station hopping, I immediately went to the bath. The large public bath was spacious and relaxing, and the sauna helped refresh my tired body. I quickly went to bed afterwards. The next morning, I had breakfast at the hotel before heading out for more station hopping adventures. The breakfast buffet was standard but they served freshly cooked items upon request. I also tried the seafood bowl menu, which included salmon, tuna, shrimp, and ikura. It was like a sushi buffet, and I enjoyed it a lot. The staff's service and the spacious room made me think highly of the Dormy chain. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. Thank you for the great experience!

I had made a reservation for room only, but I really wanted to have the breakfast at Dormy Inn, so I asked at check-in and it cost ¥2,000 extra. I was a bit surprised but I decided to go for it. The breakfast was good overall, with dishes like miso-glazed eggplant, salmon and hokke fish, salmon roe, grilled lamb, fried eggs, vegetable salad, rice, and miso soup. The grilled fish was a bit disappointing, but the salmon roe was excellent. The grilled lamb was delicious and I was happy to see seaweed and steamed chicken as toppings for the salad. The eggplant was also tasty. Although it was a bit pricey, I enjoyed the meal. Thank you for the meal.

There is a family event in Asahikawa, so I stayed overnight. I used something called a Hokkaido coupon (a government measure to reduce cancellation damage caused by disasters?) for a slight discount. The hotel's breakfast series is not included in the accommodation fee. You enter the breakfast buffet area with a tray. The grilled fish is kept warm and is nice and hot. They have mackerel, salmon, and smelt. At the next booth, they will serve you rice. You can choose between white rice and edamame rice. I chose edamame. They also had simmered lotus root, stir-fried vegetables, and wow! They had seafood bowls with salmon roe, salmon, and tuna. You can make a slightly cheap seafood bowl. They also had regular sausages, scrambled eggs, and more. Breakfast buffets are expensive everywhere, right? A breakfast menu at a local diner would cost only a coin and you would get change. Seafood bowls for breakfast are nice, but I couldn't bring myself to have one. I only had a little bit of sashimi. The best part was probably the edamame rice.

Summer in Hokkaido is cool and pleasant. However, in recent years, temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius have become common, and some old inns do not have air conditioning. Fortunately, this Dormy Inn has air conditioning, so it is comfortable. The large communal bath and late-night soba are always enjoyable. One of the highlights of Hokkaido Dormy Inns is the seafood bowl for breakfast. The all-you-can-eat salmon roe is irresistible. In Asahikawa, they serve a hearty seafood bowl with plenty of salmon roe, which may be small but considering the price, it's understandable. Indulge in a hearty salmon and salmon roe bowl.
