During the day, they serve ramen, and at night, it's an izakaya. There is one parking space in front of the restaurant. They offer Emperor Shio, miso, soy sauce, spicy miso, and gyoza. The soy sauce ramen costs 800 yen and comes with chashu, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, leeks, ground meat, seaweed, and chopped green onions. The melt-in-your-mouth chashu is delicious and the large wood ear mushrooms are a nice touch. The soup is light but packed with flavor, with a slightly sweet soy sauce base. The noodles are thin with a light wave, cooked to a soft texture. Personally, I prefer them a bit firmer. They also offer hot coffee after the meal. (May 2023)

I visited the restaurant with a friend. The draft beer was 400 yen ⭐ The menu was also reasonable. We had "Sasatake no Ko" (bamboo shoot sprouts) with salt, and the owner also offered us truffle salt as a service. We had grilled squid and beer, and ended up feeling full. The owner mentioned that if we let them know in advance what we want to eat or any preferences, they will prepare it for us. The smoked shishamo (smelt fish) we received as a service was also delicious. The owner, who trained in a Japanese restaurant, is young but shows great hospitality. I want to support them. The ramen shown in the photos on Tabelog is no longer available, according to the owner. I ended up spending around 3000 yen alone because the food and drinks were so delicious.

▼Location▼ Located 250m south of the intersection of Tsukisamu Chuo-dori 5 and National Route 36, on the left side. In front of the South Tax Office (currently under renovation). ▼About the Restaurant▼ This izakaya is located in a residential area near Hello Work and the South Tax Office, close to Tsukisamu Higashi 2-jo Street. They recently started serving lunch (ramen) this summer. ▼Menu▼ For lunch, they offer miso, shoyu, Emperor salt, spicy miso, and cold ramen, as well as rice. In the evening, they serve sake, grilled dishes, fried dishes, sashimi, and other small dishes. ▼Food Ordered▼ ▽Emperor Salt Ramen 700 yen▽ (September 2013) The visual presentation with Chinese cabbage is reminiscent of the ramen served at the former Sonban-ten. The soup is a chicken-based broth with a hint of seafood. The ground meat and bean sprouts are stir-fried and add a unique flavor. The ground meat is seasoned with spices, which is interesting. The noodles are thin noodles from Otaru's Abe Seimen, with a light curly texture that complements the simple soup well. The two slices of chashu have a good texture, and the Chinese cabbage and bean sprouts were cooked well. ▼Impressions▼ (September 2013) This izakaya operates in front of the Sapporo South Tax Office and recently started serving ramen for lunch. I was curious about the differences between their Emperor Salt Ramen and the one served at Sonban-ten with the same name. While the latter had a more Chinese-style taste, this one seemed to have a milder flavor. I think it was not bad at all. I am interested in trying their miso and shoyu ramen as well.

This is a place in Toyohira-ku, specifically in Tsukisamu Higashi 1-jo 4-chome. Across the street from the restaurant is the currently under construction Minami Tax Office. For the exact location, as always, please check the map on Tabelog. A ramen enthusiast recommended this place, mentioning that they use noodles from Otaru's "Abe Seimen," which is not commonly seen in Sapporo. Intrigued, I decided to visit. Upon arrival, I noticed the ramen flag outside the shop and headed in. While there is a lunch menu displayed outside, this is clearly a ramen shop. I entered and took a seat at a table away from the counter where another customer was smoking. After looking at the menu, I decided to order the "Emperor Salt Ramen," which was 100 yen more expensive than the regular miso and soy ramen options. The ramen arrived in about 7-8 minutes, with various toppings and a clear soup that seemed promising. The soup, a chicken-based broth with a hint of seafood dashi, was easy to drink but slightly on the salty side, making it hard to determine if it truly lived up to its name of "Emperor Salt." The noodles were thicker than the usual Kushiro noodles and had a good chewy texture, likely due to a slightly higher water content. As for the toppings, there were two slices of chashu, menma, chingensai, seaweed, and what I thought was green onions, but surprise! It also included stir-fried bean sprouts, onions, and ground meat. The ramen seemed to have a bit too much going on in terms of toppings, and personally, I would have preferred a simpler option at a lower price point, perhaps around 600 yen.
