On May 16th, I met up with my companion at Escon Field and we went to dinner at a restaurant that I can't quite remember. Feeling a bit disappointed, we headed back to the hotel. However, we decided to go to a nearby convenience store to buy some alcohol. Since we were in Hokkaido, there was only one place to go - Seicomart Kitashichijo store. We tried their "HOT CHEF" freshly cooked dishes, which were delicious and hot. I bought a classic Hokkaido beer, which I remember enjoying when I first visited Hokkaido. We also got some tasty spiced chicken, similar to zangi, seasoned with special spices that added a refreshing aroma. It paired perfectly with the beer. I wish Seicomart would open branches in Tokyo so I could enjoy their food more often. Unfortunately, my companion ended up eating all the mint chocolate we bought together.

I saw this convenience store on TV and wanted to visit. I didn't know they had stores in the Kanto region too. Today, I am looking for ingredients for dinner. I decided to go with a homemade bento, so I got a Seaweed Bento with Salmon Fry for 399 yen (excluding tax) and Spicy Grilled Chicken for 285 yen (excluding tax). They had a variety of grilled chicken options. The Seaweed Bento was different from the usual, with salmon fry and a sunny-side-up egg. The seaweed was easy to eat because it was easy to cut. The salmon fry was surprisingly big. I wish they had tempura though. The sunny-side-up egg was a fresh idea and tasted good. I think they have more unique items here, so I would like to visit again.

Every time I come to Hokkaido, I always make sure to stop by the local Seicomart convenience store. In June, they have the "Hokkaido Melon Fair". They don't just use Hokkaido melon juice in their products. The idea came about when melon producers consulted them on how to utilize melons that were deemed unsellable due to their appearance. Sometimes up to 30% of melons are considered out of specification. This year, they have 28 original products using Hokkaido melons. Over the course of 3 days, I tried: - Hokkaido Melon Monaka for 150 yen: An ice cream with 6% Hokkaido melon juice in a monaka shell. - Hokkaido Melon Pudding for 224 yen: Pudding with melon sauce and lots of whipped cream. - Hokkaido Melon Jelly for 118 yen - Hokkaido Red-Fleshed Melon Bread for 150 yen: Bread with red-fleshed melon color. - Melon Bread Choux Cream for 159 yen: Choux cream with layers of cookie dough and melon cream inside. - Hokkaido Melon Karinto for 178 yen: Karinto with melon color. - Hokkaido Melon Mochi Mochi for 108 yen: Mochi mochi bread made by the long-established Nisshin Pan. - Sapporo Baked Corn Tea for 110 yen: Fragrant corn tea. I made sure to bring my loyalty card for shopping. The prices are reasonable. Some items could even have a deluxe version. This Melon Fair is part of a movement by Hokkaido to encourage everyone to understand and support local Hokkaido food products. It's important to appreciate and support local products. I support this movement! Thank you for the delicious meal.

I took the last flight from Haneda Airport to New Chitose Airport, then took the last Rapid Airport train from New Chitose Airport Station to Sapporo Station, arriving just before midnight. I stayed at a hotel near Sapporo Station North Exit. Unlike Susukino, there are few open shops at this time. I headed to a local convenience store with an orange sign, "Seicomart". First, I went to the Hot Chef corner and got "Umami Soy Sauce Chicken" onigiri with "Hokkaido Salmon" and "Mountain Wasabi Soy Sauce Pickles", along with some "U-no-Hana" and a Hokkaido limited edition "Classic" drink. Back at the hotel, I enjoyed them with a canned beer. The "Hokkaido Salmon" and "Mountain Wasabi Soy Sauce Pickles" onigiri were delicious. Both were only 100 yen each, but they tasted just as good as the onigiri that come out during the 100 yen sale at major convenience stores. Whenever I go to Hokkaido, I will go to Seicomart. I wonder when I will be able to visit the northern land again. Thank you for the meal.

The north exit is surrounded by silence unlike the south... I secured a hotel in the north exit for the first time, so I didn't know my way around and walked around for a while. There was a convenience store nearby. Ah, that's good~ I went inside and it seemed like a store unique to Hokkaido, with a different atmosphere. They had a good selection of deli items and plenty of snacks for the night. They also had deli bread. The variety of wines surprised me, maybe they are anticipating hotel guests. I put a popular and cheap rosé wine in my basket and bought some cocktail sausages and cheese for snacks. They kindly heated up the sausages for me~ I enjoyed them in the hotel~ Thank you for the meal~!!!

A friend recommended me the delicious Peperoncino pasta at Sekoma. Before leaving Hokkaido, I decided to buy it, so I looked for Sekoma at Sapporo Station, and it seems like this is the closest location. I left from the north exit, walked to the end of the square, and turned right (east), but it would be faster to turn right immediately after leaving the north exit. Fortunately, they still had it, and I was able to safely board the plane. The garlic aroma was nice, and the chicken was flavorful and filling. Most importantly, I was happy to be able to eat Sekoma's pasta at home!

There is a red sign "HOT CHEF" at the north exit of Sapporo Station, and I thought it was a new type of convenience store offering wine and snacks. I'm used to being asked "Would you like it warmed up?" but being asked "Do you need the receipt?" was a first for me. I paid with cashless payment and received a receipt, which turned out to be from a major convenience store in Hokkaido, Seicomart. The receipt came with a coupon that I could use. I was impressed by the free eco-friendly plastic bag and brought my purchases back to the hotel. I thought the Chardonnay for 498 yen, chicken breast tempura for 118 yen, and daikon pickled in sake lees for 115 yen would go well with white wine, but they didn't really match. I remember that the deli section had a good selection. I was a little curious, so I searched online and found that the phrase "ご入用ですか" (Do you need it?) was mistakenly used as "お使いですか" (Do you need it?) which is a variation of "ご利用ですか" (Do you need it?).

Seicomart in Sapporo, Hokkaido, is a local convenience store known for using Hokkaido ingredients in their menu items. They also offer a selection of affordably priced and delicious wines. One of their standout features is the "Hot Chef" section where you can buy freshly prepared bento boxes, onigiri, and side dishes. The highly recommended dish is the Katsudon, which now comes in a two-tier style to prevent the rice from getting soggy. The katsu is tender and flavorful, and the combination of ingredients is perfect. The rice itself is delicious, likely made from Hokkaido-grown rice. They also offer a larger portion size. Please note that not all Seicomart stores have the Hot Chef section.

I may be biased towards Hokkaido restaurants, but I really like the original products starting from Hot Chef. Especially, the cheap side dishes and noodles around 100 yen are a lifesaver. Today, I enjoyed fried chicken and peperoncino with beer, indulging in a chicken feast. I know my eating habits are unbalanced, but these kinds of places with high CP value are great. I stopped by after work and bought some food. The taste is consistently good, and I think the cost performance is also high. I will definitely visit another store again.
