"Salt-fried young chicken" and "Maitake mushroom tempura" coupons (presenting one dish from Hokkaido) "Assorted sashimi" - price unknown. "Eggplant miso" 750 yen. "Buttered Hokkaido red potatoes" 495 yen. "Rausu-caught whole hokke fish" 1,320 yen. It's been about 10 years since I last visited. I made a reservation for a private room since the course reservation requires a minimum of 5 people. On the day of my visit, despite it being a weekday, all rooms were fully booked, showing how popular the place is. The private rooms have a clean environment with sunken kotatsu tables. Beer is served in glasses, not mugs. The food was as mentioned above. Everything we ordered was delicious. Especially, the most popular menu item, "Salt-fried young chicken" for 850 yen, received praise from everyone. The staff and the owner were friendly and pleasant. However, smoking is allowed here, so it may not be suitable for those who dislike the smell of cigarettes. Prepare yourself to enjoy the delicious "Salt-fried young chicken" when you visit this place!

I had always wanted to visit this restaurant because it was always full when I tried to drop by. This time, we went for a farewell party to celebrate the successful completion of a secret mission. We ordered the "Grilled Squid on a Ceramic Plate" and also a platter of homemade mackerel sashimi to share. Although we wanted to go for a course menu, we had to give up as it required a minimum of 5 people. However, the a la carte menu was just as good. Everything was delicious, and the staff did a great job of managing our drinks so nobody got too drunk. When someone in our group wanted to smoke, we had to take turns going outside, but that was fine. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

I went to Hanayoiya for the first time in a while. The appetizer was delicious, which is important for setting the tone. The presentation, dishes, and atmosphere were all great. I hadn't seen it recently, but the smelt tempura was crispy and not fishy at all, very tasty! There was also a dish with chicken and mountain wasabi, I can't remember the name, but it was delicious. The salmon was okay, I think it was atlantic salmon, which I'm not a fan of, but everything else was delicious. The seating was spacious, you could also use iQOS, and the atmosphere was nice. I definitely want to come back to this restaurant.

It's been a while since I came ☺︎ Sashimi with cod, salmon roe, and sea urchin, so healthy ⸜( ' ᵕ ' )⸝ Delicious! ☆ Unfortunately, I couldn't eat one thing I wanted, but I'll have a rematch!! There were so many types of sashimi, it was great. This time I got a 6-piece assortment, but next time I'll try my favorite sea snail as a single item ♡

Limited time Hotto points were being used up, so I made a solo visit by making a reservation online. The interior of the restaurant was clean and had a luxurious feel. The raised seating area was partitioned off, maintaining a sense of privacy. However, even though it was a weekday, the place was packed! Both the raised seating area and the counter were full of reserved plates. I ended up sitting at the counter while drinking.
I ordered a Junmai Ginjo Shiborikana 65 from Kazuhosho, which is a reliable brand that I have never been disappointed in before. However, this time it was not as good as usual. But the staff who served me the drink was beautiful.
I ordered a seafood salad with four types of fish as an appetizer for 500 yen, hoping for good freshness.
For my main dish, I ordered the Mackerel for 900 yen. It looked good with a nice color, but the vinegar was slightly stronger than my preference. The texture was firm, but lacked a bit of smoothness. When I ordered this dish, I was informed that additional orders would take some time due to the restaurant being full.
During my visit, a friend messaged me on LINE saying they were planning to come here together next time. The place was very lively and crowded, making me feel a bit out of place as a solo diner. I look forward to coming back with someone next time to fully enjoy the experience.

Hmm... that's the feeling I got. I came from Osaka, but first of all, the staff didn't come to take our order. I'm not sure if they don't intend to sell food or drinks, but it makes me wonder about the restaurant. To top it off, there are even staff members who ignore new customers and just chat. It's a bit disappointing.

It is a bit off from the Sanroku Street, but I went to a seafood izakaya near Asahikawa Station for a drink. The long counter made of white wood is very convenient, so it seems perfect for a leisurely drink for two people. We used a coupon for a free first drink and made a toast! Cheers! However, in Asahikawa, many izakayas require a group of four for all-you-can-drink, which can be tough for a heavy drinker like me. We ordered sashimi, including mackerel, soy sauce, scallops, and scallops, and the prices were not clear, but they said we could choose the type and quantity we wanted. That's amazing! We also tried the half-fried chicken wings with salt, which seemed to be a specialty, but it looked too big for just two people. We also ordered some pickled sea cucumbers, which were delicious. The menu also included teppanyaki dishes, which seemed reasonably priced. We were served a mini sashimi set as a complimentary starter, which looked colorful and delicious. The beer kept flowing, and we enjoyed the sashimi and fried flounder, as well as grilled eggplant and pickled vegetables. The counter seating was comfortable, and the chef occasionally engaged in conversation, making the experience enjoyable. Overall, it was a pleasant and satisfying dining experience.

After the dinner party in Asahikawa, I finally had some "free time to myself?" and visited Kasuiya near Asahikawa Station. The restaurant is quite inconspicuous, but has a neat and tidy interior. There are raised tatami seating areas suitable for gatherings or banquets, as well as counter seats for a more intimate dining experience. The menu was quite appealing, but since it was a second party after the dinner, we couldn't order too much. The prices were reasonable, and there was a good variety of drinks available. Although we didn't order many dishes this time, it seems like you could enjoy a meal for around 3,000 yen or more per person. I would like to explore this restaurant further in the future. While there are not many reviews on Tabelog, it seems like it has the potential to be highly rated. I will definitely revisit when I'm in Asahikawa again. Thank you for the meal.

"Hanasuika" Farewell Party in Higashi-Asahikawa's Paper District
A journalist from the Hokkaido Shimbun who had grown fond of the Paper District and had written numerous articles about it is being transferred to Sapporo. For the farewell party, we chose the restaurant "Hanasuika." We enjoyed sashimi, salad, and roast chicken, which you don't often see outside of Christmas. The journalist's backside was described as sexy, so I tried taking a photo from behind to capture that vibe. Turns out, it wasn't actually a photo of their backside, but rather someone's head.
The journalist themselves took the lead in carving the roast chicken, saying it was too much trouble to share it. They were a great person. The presentation may not have been perfect, but they were a great person. The new journalist who will be taking over also joined us, and we hope they will continue to cover the Paper District. They kindly arranged for everyone to sign a card, and one member had to contort their body to write on it without being noticed by the journalist. It was a fun and slightly quirky group of people.
Lately, Mi-san has been really into photography. They were secretly taking photos of Chef Takeda, and even managed to get the Hokkaido Shimbun photographer to take a picture of them posing with a peace sign. It was a truly enjoyable group of people.

I used this restaurant for a large party in the past. The dishes were reasonably priced with generous portions, and they were highly praised by the people at the party. The drinks ranged from sweet cocktails popular with women to beer, shochu, highballs, etc., all included in the all-you-can-drink option. Overall, the food and drinks were well received, but as the organizer, I had a slightly different impression. The staff were all young, which wasn't a problem, but their service was lacking in friendliness. I think it would have been even better if they had more cheerful and attentive customer service.

The sea bream was relatively expensive at 1400 yen, but when it arrived, it was thick and juicy! The price was justified. Personally, I was satisfied with the taste of the rolled omelette as well. The restaurant was bustling with both small and large groups, and there seemed to be more male customers. They had a wide variety of plum wine and fruit wine, making it a female-friendly menu. There were sunken kotatsu tables and counter seats available. Although there were many young staff members, they were quick and pleasant in their service.

A slightly upscale izakaya with a wide variety of Japanese sake, which is delightful. It's always crowded, so it's often difficult to get in without a reservation. It's recommended to call ahead before going.

I have been curious about this restaurant for a while, and I finally tried it for the first time. The sashimi appetizer was delicious, and all the other dishes we ordered were also very tasty. The customer service was excellent as well! We went on Christmas day and the restaurant was fully booked and seemed very busy. However, they promptly served our drinks and we didn't feel any dissatisfaction at all. The salted fried chicken made with young chicken was soooooo delicious!!!! Highly recommended ^^ Also, I was impressed by the fact that the table in the sunken kotatsu seating had floor heating!! In other restaurants, sunken kotatsu seating is nice but the floor is usually cold, but at Hanayoiya, they have floor heating!!! It may be a small detail, but it was impressive. This is a restaurant that I definitely want to visit again.
