Near the station of Sunanohata, there was a famous izakaya called "Hamachan" that I had heard rumors about. I timidly entered and was greeted by the energetic female owner behind the counter. The place was bustling with customers and had both counter and tatami seating. I ordered a beer and some sashimi - tuna and scallops. The appetizer was boiled Atka mackerel, which was generously sized and deliciously seasoned, and it even came with octopus salad as an extra surprise. The slightly sweet octopus salad went well with the drinks. The appetizer alone was quite substantial, but then the sashimi arrived. The tuna was rich in flavor and the scallops had a strong sweetness that was very impressive. The dynamic cuts of the sashimi provided a satisfying texture. The squid miso salted was a new experience for me, but I loved it - it had no fishy taste and a mild saltiness. I felt like having rice with it, but I reached my limit. I'll have to come back again for more. Thank you for the delicious meal today.

It was Saturday and the restaurant was full of customers. We were served with various excellent dishes as part of the service. Coming here today was definitely the right choice.

I forgot to take a photo, but the dried flatfish, dried octopus, raw octopus legs, Akkeshi oysters with shells, assorted sashimi, cod roe, and a 900ml bottle of Kuro Kirishima make for a great value at just over 6,000 yen. The freshness and flavor are excellent, making it a must-visit restaurant.

A coworker chose this restaurant near JR Numabukuro Station, where the lights softly illuminate the place, giving off a vibe as if Yoshida Rui might suddenly appear. It's a great izakaya! We let the new coworker choose their favorite dishes, and the chef prepared a sashimi platter for us! It was delicious. The next day, I naturally had a hangover!

Last year, when I went at the end of the year, it was too crowded and I couldn't get in. This time, I went on a weekday at an early hour. As soon as I entered, the appetizers kept coming one after another. The portions were quite generous! A flashy lady approached me and said, "Is this your first time here? The oysters from Akkeshi are delicious today! Where are you from?" She was quite talkative! I sat at the counter, but there didn't seem to be table menus at this restaurant. I had to look at the menu items posted all over the walls to place my order. After ordering, I wandered around the restaurant, feeling a bit overwhelmed and unsure. (laughs) Some of the items on the menu seemed past their peak for January, so maybe they were behind on updating the menu. The live oysters were huge and delicious! The squid sashimi was quite translucent and sweet! After two mugs of beer, I ordered sake since there was no menu for it. I just asked for a dry sake, and the one I got was pretty good, although I couldn't tell the brand. The prices for beer and shochu were clearly displayed on the wall, but for authentic shochu and sake, the prices were not listed, which might bother some people who are particular about that. The raw sushi was okay, but the rice was not quite right. It seemed a bit mushy and the vinegar was too strong. But considering the price of 800 yen for 8 pieces (100 yen per piece), it was a good deal. They also had an 800 yen salmon roe bowl and a 1000 yen sea urchin bowl, so next time I'll try one of those instead of the sushi with vinegar rice!

January 2011 revisit************I couldn't get into the crowded Hanayashiki, so I went to Hamachan for the first time in a while. It was unusually quiet, but the warm welcome and delicious fish were great. Numano Hashi is becoming a good place to drink with Hamachan. August 2010 revisit***********In Numano Hashi, Tomakomai City, this is the only place where you can get delicious side dishes. There are only yakitori and yakiniku restaurants nearby, so you might get tired of eating the same thing. This place, I occasionally visit, has a slight inconsistency in the bill, sometimes cheap and sometimes expensive, but it's okay because it's delicious. First visit in 2009**********Located a 5-minute walk from Numano Hashi Station, Hamachan is often full and hard to get in every other time. The business hours are from 5:30 pm to 10 pm, so it's better to arrive early. The specialty of the restaurant is fresh and delicious seafood, with grilled chicken being the main meat dish. When you sit down, you order a drink and immediately get side dishes like simmered fish. The menu includes dozens of standard items such as grilled fish and sashimi, as well as about 10 recommended items of the day, which are surprising in freshness and volume when ordered. Sometimes they also provide complimentary recommended snacks that are more than enough, so ordering less might be good. The sushi is reasonably priced and might be good for a meal or souvenir. The shop is run by the master, his wife, and his sister, and you can experience the pleasant service of a true izakaya from a bygone era. The only drawback is that it can get crowded and the surrounding chatter can be loud, so if you want to drink quietly, the nearby Gin Kakusan might be better.

I've been curious about this restaurant for quite some time. I wonder why I haven't been able to go until now? With a new companion urging me on, I suddenly decided to visit without making a reservation. It was a close call! The private room was being prepared for a party, so I settled at the counter. Despite the blizzard outside, every time the phone rang, the empty counter seats quickly became reserved. It was a lucky turn of events! Now, onto the menu, there were so many options to choose from! I decided to start with some drinks, shochu and oolong tea. Before even placing my order, I couldn't help but stare at the dishes being served to other customers. It's been a while since I've been to a restaurant that got me so excited! After much deliberation, I ended up ordering miso-marinated mackerel, vegetable tempura, sea cucumber vinegar, tuna sashimi, oyster sashimi, grilled shishamo, grilled tubodai, and yakisoba. All were excellent choices! With five glasses of shochu and three soft drinks, the delicious food made the drinks go down smoothly. The restroom had a traditional Japanese design, and aside from that, this place was top-notch for me! It's close by, so I'll definitely be visiting again! Being called "big sister" by the beautiful waitress was a pleasant feeling. The sight of the owner wearing a back warmer made me chuckle. Be careful of frozen pipes in the winter! Thank you for the wonderful meal!
