I visited the restaurant after seeing the reviews and being interested in the lunch menu. It is located on the uphill slope of Kaminozawa-dori in front of Hokkaido Shrine in Kita 1-jo, Sapporo. The orange building used to house "Chocolate Bar Rhapsody" before, which I visited in the past. There is parking space for two cars vertically. The interior of the restaurant is a comfortable space that doesn't feel like a basement, with a sense of openness making it feel spacious. The lunch menu offers five options: Sushi Lunch (1,200 yen), Chirashi Lunch (1,200 yen), Sashimi and Simmered Fish Lunch (1,200 yen), Gubito Lunch (1,500 yen), and Braised Pork Lunch Set (1,200 yen). This time, I chose the "Sushi Lunch" (tax included 1,296 yen). You can choose between Tekkamaki and California Roll for the rolls, and since I visited with another person, we were able to split them half and half. After about 10 minutes, the Chawanmushi was served, topped with shiitake mushrooms, okra, and plum meat. It had a soft and bouncy texture with a mild and elegant flavor. The sushi consisted of 5 pieces of nigiri, rolls, and tamago. The California Roll was amazing, with firm shari and a perfect blend of crab, seaweed, and white sesame flavors. The Tekkamaki had thick tuna slices, which felt luxurious. -Flounder fin: The crunchy yet moist texture was excellent. -Pacific saury: It had no strong taste, and I couldn't tell it was Pacific saury. -Salmon: Not greasy, with a direct umami taste. -Shrimp: Possibly botan shrimp, it was rich in flavor with a good amount. -Tuna: The unique umami and sticky texture of lean meat lingered. The slightly firm and slightly less shari was to my liking, allowing the impression of the toppings to stand out. The amount of wasabi was also just right for my taste. The miso soup with wakame seaweed was perfect in between the sushi. Lastly, chestnut ice cream was served, rich and delicious like chestnut paste. This lunch set was flawless. I was intrigued by the Braised Pork Lunch Set found in sushi restaurants. I would like to try it once, even if I have to resist sushi. Also, I would like to take the rolls home!
