In the past, I had a bad impression of green curry after eating it at a supermarket and thinking "what is this?" I also don't like coconut milk, so I haven't felt like eating it for many years. However, as people around me started recommending it, I decided to give it another try. I started with canned curry from Inaba and then tried a retort curry from "Kitano Ace." It was delicious! So, I thought, maybe it's not so bad after all? I finally decided to try it at this restaurant. There were only two groups of customers when I arrived, and it took 40 minutes for the food to be served because the owner seemed to be handling everything alone. The presentation of the green curry was beautiful. The ingredients included eggplant, carrots, spinach, bell peppers, a fried egg, shrimp chips, two chicken wings, watercress, bamboo shoots, and some kind of noodles. The soup was very oily on the surface. The spiciness level couldn't be chosen, and the owner recommended level 3, which was very sweet and flavorful. Maybe a bit more spiciness would have balanced the sweetness better? The vegetables were cooked perfectly, and the soup was delicious. The noodles in the soup seemed like a cross between pasta and somen noodles. The rice was served with chopped pickles, and the portion size was quite large. It might have been better to share half with my husband. Unfortunately, the other soup curry options were sold out by the time we arrived, so my husband had to settle for Murgh curry, which was too spicy for him even at level 2. I usually cook spicy dishes at home, but he never seems to get used to it. Overall, I was able to overcome my aversion to green curry, and I may have even developed a liking for it. I look forward to trying other soup curry options at this restaurant next time, like Surabaya chicken.
