As soon as the store opened, I tried to enter without a reservation, but arrived a little early to find about 15 people already in line. If you want to come here on a holiday for sure, you need a reservation. Three staff members efficiently arranged seats, took drink and meal orders, and I started drinking alone without any stress. The service was quick, and my meal was ready in just over 30 minutes. I left early while it was still bright outside, feeling a sense of guilt, and headed to the next restaurant.

The izakaya on Tanuki Koji was always crowded and I had never had the chance to visit before. Today is Saturday night, but I arrived at the opening time without an appointment. I waited outside on a chair for a while before entering. The interior of the restaurant had a nostalgic retro atmosphere, just as I had hoped for. I sat at the counter, which was a bit cramped but allowed for a sense of connection with others. The lemon sour was delicious, freshly squeezed. The appetizer was simple tofu. The simmered dish I had been eyeing had a sweet and rich taste like demi-glace sauce. My companion enjoyed the chilled tomatoes. Since I was short on time, we quickly ordered the tamagoyaki as the final dish. The prices were reasonable, and I would like to leisurely enjoy this izakaya on Tanuki Koji again when I have more time.

Showa retro Tanuki-koji Market location. Visited at 16:30 on a weekday (opening at 16:00) with 3 groups of 6 customers already there, all women. Throughout the visit, it was noticeable that there were many female customers. The interior had a nice atmosphere with a counter and table seats, resembling a popular pub. Ordered a "Hoppy (white) (450 yen)", "Tongue sashimi (500 yen)" with a ponzu-based sauce and mustard on the side, which was quite delicious and a must-try. Also had "Shiro (2 sticks) (320 yen)" with sauce and "Kashira (2 sticks) (430 yen)" with salt, both were consistently tasty. The appetizer for the day was cold tofu (280 yen). Had another round of Hoppy and left after about 30 minutes. Overall, it was a satisfying experience with delicious motsu (offal) and Hoppy in a casual setting, perfect for a quick pre-drinks gathering. Next time, I'd like to try the 1L Highball (1450 yen) and motsu stew. The option to make reservations is also convenient.

I visited this restaurant for the first time after going to a beer garden. We were lucky to get in right away with no wait. About 10 minutes later, there were 3-4 groups waiting outside! I'm sorry I forgot to take photos, but the skewers, liver steak, and potato salad were all incredibly delicious. I definitely want to go back again!

During the visit in July 2023, the total bill was 5,180 yen. The menu included dishes such as cold tofu with Hoppy (white) for 450 yen, tongue sashimi for 500 yen, kobukuro sashimi for 500 yen, kikuhoromon skewers for an unknown price, two orders of tare (sauce) for an unknown price, shochu highball for 450 yen, homemade pickles for 450 yen, simmered dish for 680 yen, Kinmiya sharikin for 600 yen, and chilled sake for 380 yen. The reviewer mentioned that they had visited the restaurant 10 years ago and were impressed by the quality of the food and the atmosphere. They also noted that the restaurant was located in the Tanuki-koji Market area. The reviewer enjoyed the fresh and tender sashimi dishes, as well as the pickles and simmered dish. Overall, they had a good experience but found the prices to be a bit high.

A popular casual izakaya inside Tanuki Koji Market. You can enjoy motsu-yaki, simmered dishes, and tongue sashimi. It gets fully booked early on weekdays, so making a reservation is a must. After being turned away a few times, I made sure to reserve even though I was dining alone this time. I entered at 6 pm on a weekday. The bustling atmosphere in the fully packed restaurant was lively. The customers ranged from office workers to young girls. There were no individual menus, so I chose from the menu strips on the wall. [Order] ◉ High Liqueur 1L bottle (¥1450) ◉ Tongue sashimi (¥500) ◉ Heart (¥380) ◉ Intestines (¥320) ◉ Appetizer (¥280) Total ¥2930 I ordered my favorite Lemon Shochu High Liqueur. A 1L bottle is quite rare. I thought it would be easy since I've had many High Liqueurs at YamaKi in Nishinari, but it was quite a lot. The appetizer was chilled tofu. For snacks, I ordered a few things I wanted to try since I planned to hop around. I wonder why I didn't order the simmered dish... I wanted to try Hoppy after a long time, but I was defeated by the High Liqueur alone. Despite being crowded, the speed of food service was surprisingly fast and I was happy about it. The motsu-yaki was delicious and there were plenty of options. They also had seafood dishes like squid sashimi and vinegar octopus, as well as yakisoba with octopus and sausage. I also have videos on Instagram @moritapan7.

I visited a restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. When I went inside, I saw people of various ages, ranging from their 20s to 50s. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was reminiscent of the Showa era and it was very lively.
- Kobukuro sashimi, pork intestines sashimi: I love meat sashimi, so I started with these. The texture was good. However, the sauce had a sour taste and I prefer it to be a bit less tangy.
- Grilled offal skewers: I chose various types like white meat, pork intestines, and belly. The skewers were to my liking! They were delicious.
- Potato salad, simmered dish: Both dishes did not disappoint. Especially the simmered dish had a great seasoning. If you plan to visit, making a reservation is a must. I went on a weekday, but some groups were turned away because they couldn't accommodate them. Thank you for the meal.

At the third bar of the day, we went to Inari-san for a toast. It's a very popular izakaya with a counter that was packed. We had the simmered dish and pickled vegetables, which were delicious as always.

The other day, I met up with a friend after a long time and we decided to go to a lively izakaya. It was around 6 pm but the place was packed with customers, showing how popular it is. The prices were cheap and the food was surprisingly good. We were very satisfied with our experience.

A popular grilled beef tripe restaurant that I finally tried after several attempts. They mainly serve shochu and also have highball. The food menu includes a wide range of izakaya dishes, with grilled beef tripe being a specialty. While the prices are not very cheap, the taste is good so there is no particular sense of being overpriced.

I had decided to do a bar hopping in Sapporo here. On the first and third days. Today, the door opened smoothly and as usual, it was crowded inside. Fortunately, a counter seat was available and I was able to slip into it. I quickly ordered a shochu highball and ordered chicken skewers and leek with raw egg. The leek with raw egg was not the usual egg and leek stir-fry, but leeks with raw egg topped with bonito flakes. I tried it for the first time. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively as always. Everyone was enjoying themselves in their own way. A young woman sitting next to me in a couple was drinking bottled beer with gusto. Two days later, I visited this place again for bar hopping. I saw someone being turned away before 9 pm for the last order, but luckily a table was available and I was seated there. I ordered a shochu highball, beef tongue skewers, and a maguro tuna dish for 980 yen. I watched a slightly attractive manager chatting with what seemed to be touristy pretty ladies at the table in front of me. The staff serving us seemed to have changed, but they were all attentive and taking orders for drinks from customers with empty glasses. The cool female staff member who left a strong impression on me when I first visited last year was not there this time. She had a cool and high pride demeanor, but her gentle and thoughtful service was memorable. I wonder if she quit? That's a shame.

This Showa retro-style restaurant is amazing, especially the Inari-san simmered dish and grilled skewers. I arrived at opening time and within 30 minutes, around 80% of the seats were filled. Fast, cheap, and delicious - this izakaya has it all. Thank you for the great meal! ☆(*^^*)

Located about a 7-minute walk from Sapporo City Subway Namboku Line, Tozai Line, and Toho Line "Odori Station" and Namboku Line "Susukino Station", and about a 5-minute walk from Sapporo Streetcar Tanukikoji Stop/ Shiseikan Elementary School Stop/ Nishi 8-chome Stop. This izakaya is situated in the Tanukikoji Market, known for its great restaurants like Gyoza no Kirin. Visited on a weekday evening, the place was bustling but we were seated at the counter without a wait. We ordered the simmered tofu appetizer and a bottle of beer (Akahoshi). The simmered tofu had a slightly strong flavor with a salty taste, and the beer was a bit lukewarm. We enjoyed our meal at a leisurely pace, paid the bill, and left. Thank you for the meal.

Visited around 6:30 pm on a weekday with a former colleague from my previous company and a wholesaler's salesperson. This place is a drinking enthusiast's paradise open from 4 pm, so it's best to make a reservation or you might have trouble getting in. We ordered tamagoyaki for 330 yen, tongue and scallion skewers for 390 yen, ham cutlet for 330 yen, macaroni salad for 380 yen, and simmered dish with egg for 700 yen. For drinks, we had bottled beer for 620 yen each x 3, and a highball bottle for 1350 yen. We also ordered some more food and drinks, but I was too drunk to remember what they were. The atmosphere is nice, with a diverse feel typical of Tanuki Koji Market. We had quite a bit to eat and drink, and it came out to around 2,300 yen per person. Great value for money! Will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal! #Sapporo's right answer

Today I visited Inari-san for the first time in a while. I was a bit nervous to go alone for a drink, but the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice, so it was good. I started with a bottle of beer and chilled tofu as an appetizer. Then, I ordered the simmered beef with salt and lightly grilled liver with sauce! As a fan of liver sashimi, I was really excited that they offered lightly grilled liver. I chatted with some regular customers in a relaxed manner while enjoying delicious drinks and snacks. The simmered beef tends to sell out quickly, as someone who ordered it after me was told it was sold out. Despite being lean, it was very tender and delicious, so I recommend going early and trying it out! Thank you for the meal.

Today's second bar is Inari-san, where I enjoyed a bottle of beer along with tripe stew, spring rolls, fried chicken wings, and spicy hormone stir-fry. I sat alone at the counter, enjoying the rich and flavorful tripe stew with a couple of beers. The portion was a bit small, so I ordered a second serving with egg. I also had some chu-hai and highball to go along with the fried dishes, which paired perfectly. The meal ended with the spicy hormone stir-fry.

Welcome back! It's been a while. I started off with a "black hoppy" and got pretty tipsy since I always drink one bottle outside, equivalent to five glasses inside. First up was the "hiyayakko," a classic that never changes. I like the "kashira" because it feels like I'm eating the meaty part. The "harami" is also rich in flavor, so I enjoy it as an offal dish. The "nikomi" is simmered until tender with a gentle taste. The "hamukatsu" has a nice thinness to it. The "moro Q" is a super speedy dish that you don't see in many places these days, so it feels fresh. Don't forget to have some vegetables like "negi" and "shishito" too. I spent about two hours in a cozy atmosphere at the counter, which was just perfect.

The restaurant is always full with a line outside, but there are empty seats at the counter so I quickly sat down! I noticed that there are many young female customers, with a few older men drinking alone. I toasted with a lager beer and ordered simmered dishes, motsu-yaki, ham cutlet, and squid sashimi. The simmered dish needed a spoon, motsu-yaki was small, ham cutlet was average, and the squid sashimi was great with wasabi. After a few bottles of beer, I ordered a shochu highball which was easy to drink. I didn't stay for long, maybe around 1.5 hours, but I felt like staying longer with a bottle of shochu and hot water.

Since the spread of the coronavirus, I have refrained from dining out, so it has been about two years, I think? But nothing has changed from two years ago - delicious food, affordable prices, and that pickled cabbage...yes, that's it! The grilled chicken skewers are also just right! The beef tongue sashimi is tasty too! The horse mackerel sashimi is also delicious! Oh, no matter what you order, it's always good here.

When I searched for a place to drink Kinmiya in Sapporo, I found this place. I decided to visit right away and it was located in a street called Tanukikoji Market. When I peeked inside, it was packed with customers. I hesitated to go in but finally mustered up the courage to enter. The friendly male staff told me they would prepare a seat for me, and brought a chair to the counter for me. I felt grateful and sat down. The menu was only displayed on small strips of paper on the wall. I ordered Shari-kin and tongue sashimi. Then I ordered a tomato sour and quickly followed it up with a shochu highball after seeing it on the menu behind me. The bustling atmosphere inside the restaurant, with a U-shaped counter and a pot of motsu stew, made me feel like I was drinking at a local spot, forgetting that I was in Sapporo. The only downside is the high prices, with two skewers of motsu yakitori costing ¥370, and that too only with salt. In a local izakaya, I could probably eat three skewers. Another issue is that they may not hear your order if you speak softly. In my opinion, a good restaurant should have ears on the back of their head. Nevertheless, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The atmosphere was great and I found myself having so much fun that I might end up staying longer than planned.
