On Valentine's Day, rather than buying chocolates, I wanted to go eat something delicious, so I went. We were the only guests staying that day, which made me feel somewhat guilty. They asked us to park our car in front of the entrance, saying that even if it snowed, it wouldn't accumulate on the car. The French full-course plan with fruit herbal tea included in the package from Jalan is probably the same price as the other dishes, with the herbal tea containing dried fruits provided in the room as a bonus. I mentioned that I don't have any particular dislikes for food, but I prefer cooked dishes and don't like raw meat. During check-in, they showed us the menu for the day and asked if there were any specific dislikes. I remembered the fish, caspian, meat, and pork cheeks, which left an impression, and I looked forward to the meal. Now, dinner. First, the bruschetta was delicious, and it made me anticipate more delicious dishes to come. The assorted vegetables had so many varieties that I couldn't even tell what was included. The octopus, shrimp, and herring were well combined, and the terrine, foie gras, and fried vegetables were crispy. The soup was hot, very hot, with a nice cheese aroma. The caspian, perhaps from the waters off Muroran, was large and deboned, with no skin and zero odor, and the meat was tender. I was surprised by the way it was cooked, as I'm not used to having it stewed. The risotto underneath was also delicious. The bread was homemade, and they offered more when it ran out. The palate cleanser was quince sherbet, reminiscent of the good quince fragrance from a previous visit, a bit like a pear. The pork cheeks were stewed and tender, like beef stew. As I ate, they brought a potato gratin to accompany the dish, made with a variety called Touya, which was sweet having survived the winter. The dessert was apple pie, freshly baked, with a nice wrapping, and the apples were not local, but the ice cream had nuts in it. The small baked goods were too much to finish, so they wrapped them up for me to keep until the next day. Some guests only had dinner during dinner time. Breakfast was served leisurely from 8:30 am. They allowed us to bring our own drinks, and there was milk and apple juice available. The salad was too much to finish, with two dressings, tomato and balsamic, offering different flavors, but unfortunately, it was too much. The homemade jams were a nice touch, with pineapple and blueberry flavors that day. There were three types of bread, also too much to finish, so they wrapped them up for us. The croissant was delicious. The egg dish was a galette, which alone was filling. The day had a cloudy winter sky, and the view of the beautiful Lake Toya during breakfast was exceptional. I like that everything here is homemade, and the variety of desserts is great. I want to come back here anytime for a delicious meal.
