A- B
During the COVID-19 pandemic, unable to get vaccinated, I planned to do takeout and headed to the Hokkaido Fair with my sister (for croquettes). Even though it's autumn as I write this, I can't help but remember the unique fish and master chef at Shunkisai in spring. I hope they come back in autumn soon ❤️ It was my first experience dining in at an event venue, and we were lucky to find a free table just after lunchtime. The lady at the register seemed very friendly. Instead of recommending a set menu, I timidly asked if I could try the elusive fish "Ito" and "Tantaka," to which she kindly replied, "Of course, you can just have one piece if you like." Guided by her words, my sister and I, both on the plump side, sat down, planning to have some sushi for a snack. However, we were treated to delicious and rare fish we had never tasted before, along with small, easy-to-eat Edo-style sushi, surprisingly in Hokkaido. The lightly red sushi rice, whether made with red vinegar or using brown sugar, was delicately shaped, topped with generous portions of fresh fish. Starting with "Ito" and quickly moving on to a flavorful shrimp head soup, we couldn't stop ourselves from getting more. We also tried "Nishin" and "Botan Ebi," which we love, as well as the impressive "Aji" from Hokkaido. It was such a delightful sushi snack time that we couldn't even eat dinner afterward ❤️ I still crave it just by thinking about it! This time, my sister treated me. The chef will be at the Kushiro store until September. It seems that the Hokkaido Fair is now divided into two parts, with different shops from Hokkaido coming for each part. After quickly checking, we found out that we had another chance to stop by on our way back from visiting a grave in Hayama, and once again, the two plump ladies eagerly revisited the place.
