"Yaoya Yokocho Bunten Mirai" is a shop where a greengrocer serves mainly curry. It opened in 2020 in the Hokkaido University area in Sapporo. I visited for lunch with my usual companion for the first time. The shop is located along Kitakujo Street in Kita Ward, Sapporo. Please check the exact location of the shop on Tabelog. I visited around 2 pm on a weekday. There were no customers before or after us. There were hardly any vegetables in front of the shop, probably due to the winter season. There are counter seats and table seats at the back of the shop for curry. We sat at the empty counter seats. The "Yokocho Curry" comes in regular size for 600 yen and large size for 700 yen, with additional toppings available. Both of us ordered the regular size with an additional topping of "extra vegetables" for 150 yen. It took 7 minutes for our two "Yokocho Curry" dishes to arrive. The Yokocho Curry was more authentic than expected. It was a high-quality curry that you wouldn't expect from a greengrocer. There were hardly any vegetables for sale in the shop. The "extra vegetables" included Mizuna, eggplant, boiled pumpkin, and green asparagus, which were typical spring vegetables. Even in mid-March when it was still snowing, these vegetables hinted at an early spring in Sapporo. The shop had hardly any vegetables for sale, focusing more on curry. Next time, I might try the curry with extra vegetables again. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I had a disappointing lunch, so I was feeling unsatisfied. Then, I stumbled upon this place and said hello. I decided to try the Yokocho Curry for 600 yen, which caught my eye first. Honestly, the rice used was not great, but the curry sauce was delicious! It is made with a base of beef and chicken, cooked with broth. I was also tempted by the Yokocho Zangi, but I couldn't eat more since this was my second stop. They also offer crepes, tapioca drinks, soft serve ice cream, and other drinks. The tapioca drinks are cheap, and the soft serve is only 300 yen. Next time, I want to try the crepes which the owner used to sell from a food truck. It turns out the curry is made by the neighboring Champom Master. So, I look forward to trying the crepes and tapioca drinks next time!

As the name suggests, they sell vegetables and fruits, but there was a sign with a picture of Yokocho Curry on it that caught my attention. I immediately went in to try it! At Yayoi Yokocho, they offer crepes, coffee, amazake, Yokocho Zangi, and Yokocho Curry on their menu. I ordered the Yokocho Curry with cheese topping this time! Let's dig in! The curry had a spicy yet sweet and flavorful taste. The portion of rice was quite generous, but they offer refills if you need more! It's great for those who want to eat a hearty meal! A new vegetable shop has opened at Sapporo Station North Exit. It seems to be a branch of "Yaoya Yokocho" (the main store is in Sapporo Fukuzumi?). Before buying lunch at a nearby convenience store, I wanted to check out this shop that caught my interest. From the outside, it's hard to tell if it's a restaurant, a baked sweet potato shop, or a vegetable shop. Hmm, what could it be? There was a photo of takeout zangi at the entrance of the shop. I thought I might get some takeout zangi on my way home from work, so I went inside the shop. Just like the name "Yaoya Yokocho" suggests, there were onions, fruits, and potatoes lined up. Oh? Towards the back of the shop, there was a dining area? They had a menu for curry rice. So, I decided to have lunch here. Besides curry rice being the only meal menu, there were many types of crepes available. Yokocho Curry... I didn't have high expectations, but... the rice was served in a large portion as a service. Oh? It's delicious. (I apologize for being rude...) It has a rich and delicious taste. A nice spicy flavor. It seems to be a curry with a lot of attention to detail. Could the large-cut potatoes, carrots, and green peppers also be part of that attention to detail? It's nice that the vegetables are delicious too. After finishing the meal, I ordered the zangi. I made a takeout reservation for a specific time on my way home from work. This is a vegetable shop. There were delicious-looking mandarins, and the shop recommended a mandarin called "Hamasaki." I brought the zangi and mandarin back home. Yokocho Zangi... 6 pieces for 500 yen. A convenient zangi for a coin. It's a bite-sized zangi, but the flavor is solid. I was given sauce on the side, but I like this juicy zangi as it is. There is a zangi shop near this shop, but if you like well-seasoned zangi, you might choose this zangi here. Just like ramen, zangi also has its own unique taste. Now, I made the "Hamasaki" mandarin my dessert. It's the first time I've heard of this mandarin. It's a mandarin from Saga Prefecture.
