I was recommended to try Niko Rifure-san before going to Mokoma, an izakaya in Meitama, which was said to be delicious. When I arrived at Mokoma, it was full, but then I found out there was a sister store called "Onzu" nearby. It turned out that "Onzu" means "little brother" in Tohoku dialect, or "onji" in Hokkaido dialect. It's more like a brother store than a sister store. I was lucky to find a seat at the counter and was served by a cute girl in a pink work coat. I ordered the Senbero for ¥1,100, which included 2 drinks and 2 small dishes from the all-you-can-drink menu. I also ordered a sashimi platter for ¥1,250, which I paired with Japanese sake from Hokkaido. The dishes were actually prepared by Mokoma next door and brought over. The small dishes were nikujaga (meat and potatoes) and meatballs. The nikujaga had a comforting taste, and the meatballs with ketchup seasoning were excellent. The highlight was the sashimi platter with 9 varieties of fresh sashimi. The scallops still had the adductor muscle attached, and the cost performance was great. I added another order of drinks for ¥1,100, with 3 more drinks but no small dishes. I tried the local Hokkaido sake such as Kuni Ki, Kita no Katsu, and Kanadzuchi. I also tried Hokkaido Nishiki for ¥550. I then ordered seafood fried rice for ¥880 and tamagoyaki for ¥660. The seafood fried rice was made with scallops, squid, and salmon offcuts, and the tamagoyaki was sweet and flavorful. It was a delicious meal with Hokkaido sake, and I was satisfied with the food and drinks. I realized I missed trying the Kuni Sho Muso glass from Asahikawa Takasago Sake Brewery, so I'll have to come back to try the grilled tuna next time. (I asked the person who recommended it again, and they said the grilled tuna was delicious. The menu is also the same as Mokoma's.) Now, I'll go to Niko Rifure-san, take a bath, and just sleep. I'll save the sauna for tomorrow's enjoyment.

Next to Meitama, this place is in the same series. They have senbero deals and all-you-can-drink options, but they only open on Fridays. Finally got to visit this place. I chose the 90-minute all-you-can-drink option with draft beer included. For food, I had Matsumae pickles as a snack. It's a hidden gem. The place is clean and nice. The restroom is shared with the building. I'll come back again on a Friday.

I stopped by after a long time. I wonder when was the last time... It's been quite a while. So, I'll start with a solo drink with the "senbero" set! Today, I'll go with a roasted green tea highball instead of beer. Two small dishes arrive. Simmered octopus and simmered daikon with meat. It's a simmered dish course. But this is good. It's calming. Since I feel like I don't have enough snacks, I'll go for a green onion topped flavored egg and fried potatoes. The fluffy potatoes and deliciously boiled flavored egg are here! Topped with green onions! The fried potatoes may not have a Japanese feel, but they're the fried potatoes from the izakaya. I had three rounds of roasted green tea highball and enjoyed a leisurely solo drink. Next time, I'll come back before it's been so long. I'll probably enjoy the Japanese-style atmosphere again. That's how I feel.

The second stop after the 3 pm drink is across the road. It's in the basement of the HBC 3-jo building. I decided to have a drink at Senbero for the first time in a while❗️ Since I just finished eating at the first place, I'm not hungry. So, I'm just here for drinks.✌︎(๑˃̶͈̀◡︎˂̶͈́๑)✌︎ First, I had some Hokkaido sake, then a shochu highball, umeshu sour, and some appetizers. Two middle-aged men discussing the future over drinks. In this era of COVID-19, how will people's lives unfold? As we enter the new year of Reiwa 3, when the lid on the issues that have been locked away is lifted, how many things will burst out. ... Now, let's change the scenery and have one more drink( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈ ) ===========

Senbero set for 1000 yen in September 2020 ★
Senbero intense battle Tanukikoji near KT Sanjo Building B1 next to the store, and I was torn between this one and the neighboring store, but the deciding factor was the owner! Very kind and thoughtful (^^)b Oh, it's not that the neighboring store is bad or anything, haha. Senbero set with 3 drinks and 2 small dishes for 1000 yen, and sharing alcohol within the group is OK! You can also get refills for senbero. Princess ( ゚Д゚)ノ Paul Star + Peach Liqueur, I was embarrassed to order that, haha.
【Small Dish 1】
Mushrooms and beef with spicy seasoning, like a spicy sukiyaki flavor. Goes well with alcohol, even with a hearty rice dish (๑´∀`)
【Small Dish 2】
A simmered dish like oden, lightly seasoned and piping hot with a good flavor. Both dishes are generous in portion size, not just small dishes. This is enough for a side dish. The alcohol is not weak at all, and they make sure you can drink well. A good restaurant to enjoy (^^)b When it gets crowded, there's no need to stay long, so let's give up our seats and leave. Thank you for the meal (^ω^)

I visited this restaurant last weekend and got hooked on their 1,000 yen "senbero" system, which includes 3 drinks and 2 side dishes. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, and the yakitori is delicious! The sashimi platter from the neighboring restaurant, Me Ta Ma, was also very tasty. And the smoked cheese with iburi-gakko was amazing. I also added an extra round of drinks (4 more) - it was a feast. Apart from senbero, they have many other delicious menu items. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.

I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend from Tabelog and visited for the first time with my colleague. I'm not very familiar with izakaya-style dining, so I apologize for any mistakes, but today we decided to experience it! We had 3 drinks and 2 small dishes (o^^o) and felt a bit guilty about it (^^; The kind owner warmly welcomed us and we were happy with the service from the staff. In addition to izakaya-style dining, we also ordered a plate of 6 skewers which were delicious, making us want to stay longer at this cozy restaurant. Thank you for the meal. We will definitely come back! We were also recommended to visit the sister restaurant next door for a second round of izakaya-style dining.

I heard that there are many good and cheap places to drink in this area, and one of them was a shop that served delicious shochu mixed with tea. Even after the lifting of restrictions, people still seem hesitant to go out, including me. The owner said that weekends were busy, but on weekdays, he engaged in interesting conversations. I ordered senbero (a set of dishes with alcohol) which included komatsuna, chicken, carrot dish, cucumber with ginger soy sauce, and lime sour. I couldn't drink the third round, but the owner shared the information with the lady next to us that senbero here consists of 2 dishes and 3 alcoholic drinks for 1,000 yen. Personally, I prefer a higher ratio of food to alcohol. Senbero is supposed to make you drunk for 1,000 yen, but I learned that it varies depending on the shop. It's interesting to see the different strategies of each shop. The pickled cucumber with ginger soy sauce was delicious and I want to try making it at home. It was a fun and educational experience.

Welcome. ---------- June 2020 ----------
We reopened after the self-restraint period. It's been a while, so I went for my usual "Senbero" (3 drinks + 2 appetizers = 1000 yen excluding tax).
Started with a lemon sour (= ´∀´)ノ凵゛
For the 2 appetizers, we had "Grilled Cod Roe", which had a gentle spiciness on the outside and inside, and "Salted Cod Roe with Potatoes". I wonder why potatoes and salted cod roe go so well together. With butter, it's a must to have another drink.
For the remaining 2 drinks, I had a Mint Star (= ´∀´)ノ凵゛
I like the dialect of the master, it's refreshing.

Wow, this place is the talk of the town! The bright and beautiful interior and exterior appearance exceeded my expectations. I couldn't wait to experience it right away. I infiltrated this cheap izakaya where you can get three drinks and two side dishes for 1000 yen plus tax. I arrived a bit late at around 9 pm, but everyone was already having a great time. I ordered a highball and enjoyed some delicious ham and spinach side dish. The kind customer next to me even shared their potato and cod roe butter side dish with me. The second side dish was chikuwa curry, which was like oden with bamboo ring and sweet curry. The drink magnet system for ordering more drinks was very clear and easy to understand. I couldn't resist ordering more drinks. It was a pleasure to catch up with everyone and have a good time. It was a brief but enjoyable experience, and the food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

At the third stop on the ladder, I visited "Kushiyaki Sakaba Onzu" where you can order a Senbero set consisting of 3 drinks and 2 small dishes. This place is a sister store of the neighboring restaurant "Me-Taima" and the system remains the same. The first small dish was grilled tarako on sweet potatoes, which was quite filling but may not be the best match for alcohol, or maybe I just couldn't handle carbs after eating so much. The second dish was curry-covered chikuwa, which was also filling but not exactly what I wanted at the moment, but the value for money was great. When another person joined us later, the first dish was replaced with prosciutto due to it being sold out, which I would have preferred. The drinks included lemon sour, highball, and sake. Personally, I thought the Senbero set at "Me-Taima" was better. If the content hasn't changed, then that would be my recommendation for a quick drink with a thousand yen in hand. Thank you for the meal.

I have visited this tuna restaurant on this floor several times. There seems to be a related store, so I must try it out! I arrived at the restaurant just before 5 pm on a weekday. Looks like I'm the first one here. I was seated at the end of the counter, right in front of a sparkling beckoning cat. Let's start with the "senbero" set... I can choose between malt and hop beer. I hope they can make it a classic for me. Two drinks and two appetizers. It's the same as the tuna restaurant. The meticulously made rolled omelette and delicious fried chicken were great. It's so nice when the appetizers are delicious, my excitement goes up. As I casually looked at the menu, there were so many tasty options. I noticed "flavored egg with green onion" among them. I ordered it without confirming until the end. It must be delicious! And also, lotus root chips. Let's go for the second beer. The flavored egg with plenty of green onions was amazing. If you're a member of the National Green Onion Lovers Association, you should definitely order it. I didn't think of it, but this combination is surely delicious. I enjoyed munching on the lotus root chips and sipping on my third beer. I think I'll stop here for today. The price of the appetizers is reasonable, and the staff is friendly. This place is nice too! I feel like coming back again, but next time I'll try something other than the set menu. That's what I'm thinking.

I and my friend, feeling good at Source72 and Namarayoshi. It was a warm day, so we decided to walk from the station to the restaurant. It was around 4 pm on a Saturday. There were 2 customers when we arrived and 6 customers came in later. We sat at a 4-person table facing each other. We ordered the rumored "Senbero" set for 1000 yen (excluding tax), which includes 3 drinks and 2 small dishes. The first drink was beer. Cheers! The two small dishes were a slightly lacking in salt macaroni salad and delicious marinated squid. Perfect for drinking. The second drink was beer again, and the third was shochu with water. The interior of the restaurant was clean and bright, with cute decorations like a shiny beckoning cat on the counter. There were not many customers, maybe due to the influence of the coronavirus? When we asked, the staff said, "Yes, that's right," but the owner said, "It's always like this," with a laugh. The atmosphere of the place was relaxed, and we felt comfortable taking our time drinking and chatting. We also ordered a glass of red wine for 300 yen and mixed nuts for 300 yen. We stayed for about 3 hours and the total bill for two of us was 3190 yen. I really liked the relaxed atmosphere of this place.

Senbero for 1000 yen excluding tax. I ordered macaroni salad and pickled squid. Surprisingly, it was quite a generous portion. For my first drink, I had a glass of beer. It was delicious. For my second drink, I had shochu on the rocks. It was strong. For my third drink, I had sake. As my snacks dwindled, I added grilled eel with Japanese pepper. It was delicious. In total, it came to 1430 yen. What a delightful meal! Thank you very much.

Welcome.---------- February 2020 ----------Today, as usual, I found myself at the usual place at 3:30 pm. Thanks to the influence of the owner Tom, I ended up buying a compact digital camera. Sony, of course. I ordered my usual three cups of sake and two appetizers for 1000 yen (excluding tax). First, I started with a lemon sour. The two appetizers were marinated quail and lightly seasoned horseradish. I really enjoyed the marinated quail and the horseradish, as I am a fan of horseradish. Next, I had the "beef sukiyaki," which was made with beef loin simmered in sukiyaki sauce. It was so tender and delicious, especially when combined with shichimi spice. For my second cup of sake, I had the Mint Star, which is a dangerous drink that can turn you into a bad person. My third cup was the Kuro Kirameki on the rocks, which was a generous pour and gave me a sense of being in Kyushu. Overall, the cost performance at this place is great.

Welcome. Today's Hallco-san is a ninja-themed establishment. The name comes from the Tsugaru dialect, which means "drunk" or "tipsy." The menu includes 3 drinks and 2 appetizers for 1000 yen, excluding tax. First, a lemon sour. The appetizers were smoked duck with red peppers and Matsumae pickles. The third drink was a mint star, a dangerously strong drink. The cozy atmosphere and good conversation with the friendly owner make it a great place for daytime drinking.

2020/2 ★ Senbero Set 1000 yen After-party ((・´∀`・))♪ Located inside the KT Sanjo Building, just off Route 36 on the north side of Susukino, "Mebutama" is a popular place for maguro (tuna) and senbero. Next to it is a new branch store where you can feel the warmth of the wood in the cozy interior with a counter and three table seats. It's not suitable for large groups, but it's great that they open at 15:00 every day! The "senbero set" with no time limit includes 3 drinks and 2 small dishes for 1000 yen (excluding tax). You can exchange two senbero magnets for a refill of your drink, but be careful not to lose them! The small dishes are different every day, and on this day, we had macaroni salad and grilled fish, both of which had a decent amount and went well with the drinks. It's a great deal to get three drinks for a thousand yen! This is a great place. Thank you for the meal! (^ω^)

Who are you talking about? (laughs) I'll suggest this place for the next gathering of members who seem familiar. Next door is the affiliated "Me Ta Ma" san. We visited a similar cheap drinking spot nearby, but the atmosphere there was not very comfortable... On the way to the restaurant, a message came on LINE... I arrived first and started drinking! Are you shaking because you're too excited to drink? (laughs)
- Senbero set 1000 yen (excluding tax): A set of 3 drinks and 2 small dishes. Three drinks!! Isn't it perfect for heavy drinkers?
Since I was feeling a bit hungover from drinking too much the previous day...
- Red tea high: My companion gave me a supplement called "Sake Legend", so I tried drinking it with red tea high. It usually works, but I didn't feel much effect the next day... Maybe I outdrank the "legend"?
- The first dish in the set was mirin-pickled hokke fish. It had a good amount of fat and some silver whiting mixed in. It was a bit hard to eat because of the bones, but it was very delicious. It makes you want to drink sake if you're feeling lively.
- The second dish was macaroni salad with eggs, cucumbers, and ham. It had a good amount for us light eaters. I don't put sauce on mine (laughs).
I added hojicha high for my third drink, and with a little pick-me-up, I felt like I was coming back to life. So I had red wine for my third drink. It had a slightly sangria-like sweetness. Be careful, the beer at this cheap drinking spot is more like happoshu, so if you're particular about taste, take note. They asked if we wanted to add more food, but it wasn't as intense as the other place, so the atmosphere was good. Sorry. We won't be adding anything this time! We're moving on to the next place!

I went to Susukino. After finishing the kaiseki course at the first party and having yakitori at the zeroth party, we decided to have a free time due to the influence of the coronavirus. We finished lightly and canceled the second party. We had one more drink and headed home. We strolled around Susukino and sneaked into the basement of this building. I saw this place in someone's review. There were no customers, so we decided to try it out. We sat at the counter in the back and couldn't decide on the set menu, so we ordered individual items. Lemon sour please~ Huh? 300 yen? So cheap! We had 5 skewers: ham cutlet, chicken, pork belly, chicken breast with cheese, beef tongue, and hormone. The ham cutlet was delicious and the skewers, especially the beef tongue and chicken breast with cheese, were tasty. The seasoning of the skewers was good, so I would like to have a second party here next time. The skewers cost 200 yen each, so it may be better to order individual items here! It was around the time when the new coronavirus was starting, so we had a good time chatting with the chef while watching TV. Thank you for the meal!

Enjoying a cheap drinking session. Here, the set includes 3 drinks and 2 snacks. First, cheers with a Green Highball. The snacks are macaroni salad and seasoned tofu. The seasoned tofu was especially satisfying as it was cold outside. The macaroni salad was also delicious. For the second drink, I had a Kokuki. The third drink, I went back to the Green Highball. I added a mixed nuts plate and quail egg omelette. (January 2020)
