It's been 6 years since I last visited. I was planning to go to Aonoza last year, but it got canceled due to the state of emergency, so I came here again this year with my new 0-year-old dog. In addition to the human fee, there is an additional pet fee of 5,500 yen. It's much cheaper compared to a pet hotel. The room has a private open-air bath, and we can go directly to the room without passing through the lobby because of the dog. The room is spacious, and the one who is most pleased is the dog. A luxurious dog! The room may show some signs of wear and tear, but it's still nice. The spaciousness is amazing. I wandered around the hotel since it's been 6 years. I also booked a massage and planned to have a luxurious and relaxing day (even though I brought my work laptop, I won't open it for sure). After a nap, we head to dinner. Dinner is a kaiseki course served in a private room. I toasted with Mimosa, which I recently got into (when I mentioned this to my husband, he said there was a time in the past when I was into it. Trends do come back after 10 years...). The first course was Nanjing tofu with caviar, octopus, and red beans. It was refreshing, cold, and elegant, with a strong octopus flavor. Delicious! The appetizer...wait, it's not 16 kinds this time! I was expecting to eat 16 kinds like last time, but it was still delicious and easy to eat. The Kinshichijyo soup with scallops was served with grated potatoes. The big scallops were delicious and elegant, especially the fresh green onions. The sashimi included tuna, botan shrimp, and Japanese dace, with flounder marinated in kelp. The grilled dish was a tender Japanese beef wrapped in magnolia leaves with a miso flavor that was not too strong and very delicious. The hot dish was a steamed egg custard with snow crab using yuba. It had a warm and gentle taste, which was delicious. The strong dish was a golden needle soup with kinki fish. The fat of the kinki fish was delicious, and the thick soup with plenty of vegetables warmed the body. The meal was a salmon and salmon roe mixed rice. It was incredibly delicious, with each grain of rice standing out and shiny. The taste of the rice and ingredients was very delicious. Even though I was already full, I thought they wouldn't give me a doggy bag, so I pushed myself to have another bowl! The dessert was a lemon and white chocolate mousse. The lemon sauce was quite intense, and the mousse was sweet. It was a bit too sweet for me. Overall, it was delicious! I was very satisfied. For breakfast, there was a buffet with so many delicious options that I couldn't finish everything I wanted to eat. I managed to eat two trays of food, but I still wanted more. Full stomach! Since I last visited, I have been taken to various places, but this place is still the best! It seems like some rooms have been renovated to hide the wear and tear of the building and rooms. I also had a massage, which refreshed my body and mind. Thank you very much! I will visit again!

There is no parking lot, so I parked at a public parking lot for 500 yen a day. The restaurant has large windows with a nice view. The buffet mainly consists of vegetables, each dish is well-prepared and delicious. They only had croissants and Danish pastries for bread, so I wish they had baguettes as well.

I visited for a stay. There was a choice between buffet course and room service, and I chose the buffet course. For dinner, I chose between Japanese beef and shrimp as the main menu. Every dish was carefully prepared and delicious. The sashimi was fresh and very tasty. I would love to stay at this hotel again. The staff members are all very kind.

Reservations are necessary. The weather was nice, so we decided to drive there for a day trip. Since there is no parking available for day trips, we paid 500 yen to park at a nearby lot. There were some school trip students and inbound tourists here and there. The buffet had a lot of vegetables, which was great. The asparagus was especially delicious this time! We filled up on roast beef and vegetables, maybe a bit too much! I was tempted to go for the curry rice, but I managed to save some room for dessert. Unfortunately, they didn't have the smoothie I was looking forward to. We enjoyed our lunch while looking out at Lake Shikotsu. After a leisurely walk, we headed to the hot spring. The Shikotsu Onsen area is small but cozy. As expected, the hot spring was almost like a private bath, allowing us to relax and unwind. It was a little luxury to enjoy a leisurely lunch and hot spring on a holiday!

Celebrated my wife's birthday at Mizunouta. Mizunouta is always a comfortable place for me, and I enjoyed it the most for my wife's birthday celebration. We opted for the buffet plan for dinner and breakfast. Although the lineup doesn't change much since we've stayed here multiple times, we never get tired of the food. It was heartwarming to see my wife, who usually eats lightly, going back for seconds. Thank you as always. It was a delicious meal.

The hotels around Lake Toya have an amazing sense of luxury. They have fireplaces where you can relax with cushions around. The best part is that you can move around in the hotel, dining, and hot springs facilities in the provided yukata. It was so convenient because high-end hotels usually require you to dress up a bit, which can be tiring on the shoulders. I definitely want to visit another hotel in the same group.

Last year, I stayed overnight at the Teshan-kai Mori no Uta with my dog, and it was absolutely lovely. The food was excellent and having a hotel that allows pets in Hokkaido is truly unique! However, I recently discovered another gem - the Shikotsuko-ko Mizu no Uta. While Mori no Uta had a pet entrance, Mizu no Uta had a pet entrance in the garden, allowing pets to come and go freely and even go for a walk by the lakeside. The check-in process at both hotels was done in the room, and they even gave toys and snacks as gifts. The rooms had open-air baths, and the large communal baths had a system to check congestion levels on your phone. The dining experience was top-notch - Mori no Uta had a buffet plus live kitchen where they made pizzas, while Mizu no Uta offered a choice between meat and fish for the main course, with a variety of desserts made by a pastry chef right in front of you. The Catalana was delicious! There was also a drink-all-you-can option, so I indulged in sparkling wine. While my husband found the selection slightly lacking in snacks like cheese and wine, he was satisfied with his favorite dishes like crab soup and sashimi, along with desserts. They even served ochazuke as a finishing touch. In the morning, I enjoyed a luxurious ikura bowl while looking out at the garden. I heard they also have a foot bath in the garden. My dog seemed to love the garden so much that he didn't want to come back inside the room... I enjoyed my stay so much that I don't want to leave, and I definitely plan on coming back next year.

Hokkaido's highest peak hotel 【Mizunouta Shikotsuko Tsuruga Resort Spa Mizunouta】 Located 1 hour by car from Sapporo in the center of Hokkaido. A resort & spa surrounded by a forest and lake where you can be healed by the power of water. I traveled to Sapporo and Otaru. I stayed near Sapporo at Lake Shikotsu because I like the water. Dinner was buffet style. There were many foreign staff members. When they brought me a beer, it spilled (; ;) They gave me a half-off discount on the bill. There were no customers at the bar, but the bartender was friendly and created a fun adult atmosphere. They even made me a drink in a color I had never tried before, in response to my request.

We have been enduring a life of patience due to the ongoing pandemic, and now that things have calmed down a bit, my family and I decided to take a trip to Lake Shikotsu. We stayed at the Shikotsu Lake Tsuruga Resort Water's Edge, a very luxurious and extravagant hotel. For dinner, we enjoyed a dinner buffet. The restaurant is described as offering a new style of healthy food buffet, where carefully selected ingredients are simply prepared and served. However, my impression was that each dish was meticulously cooked, including grilled vegetables, seafood soup, tender beef stew, along with colorful cold dishes combining salads, sashimi, vegetables, and seafood. Every dish was a hit! We had a satisfying and enjoyable time. The breakfast buffet was also wonderful, with stylish and delicious dishes like rice cooked in a stove pot. We ate our fill from the variety of dishes served with kindness. How many more trips will we be able to take as a family? This hotel was truly memorable!

The annual tradition of the year-end water song. Finally, the number of guests has recovered to the point where the hotel is fully booked. Due to the pandemic, the buffet style has changed to individual portions, but personally, I hope they continue with this style even after the pandemic settles down. It looks clean, hygienic, and would help reduce food waste. It may be tough for the staff to prepare by serving small portions in individual dishes, but the food is still delicious and visually appealing.

The customary water chant. I personally think that the buffet style of the Water Chant is something that restaurants should refer to, especially those operating during the COVID-19 pandemic. Most dishes are individually portioned in glasses, which is visually pleasing and impressive in terms of quantity. Those who want to eat a lot may find it insufficient, but they can always go back for more, which is much better than taking too much and leaving leftovers. It also seems like a good measure against food waste. I won't touch on the sense of photography and the choice of dishes...

After staying in Sapporo, I stayed at this hotel near Chitose Airport for just one night. I was surprised to find such a wonderful accommodation in Hokkaido. Enjoying a meal and hot springs with a view of Lake Shikotsu was exceptional. Due to the pandemic, we opted for room service instead of a buffet, and the meals were fantastic. The children's dinner was also well received, and they were very happy. One downside was that room service is only available for special rooms, with only four rooms in total, which seemed to put a lot of pressure on the one server. As a result, the meal service was slow and took a long time. Breakfast was served in the dining area and was quite filling. I would like to stay at the same group's Aoi no Za next time.

I felt the clever presentation typical of Tsuruga and the service was good too, but the handling of the hot springs is a bit lacking across the group, which is also typical of Tsuruga. If you're not a fan of hot springs, you might not understand, but the breakfast buffet included asparagus and tomato jelly salad, burdock salad, sausage and cabbage in tomato sauce, scallops simmered in a tasty broth, tomato stewed beef belly, Eggs Benedict, French toast, croissants, chocolate croissants, smoothies, acai, strawberry Dutch oven-cooked rice with plenty of accompaniments like cod roe, ikura, sujiko, natto seaweed, and kombu seaweed. The milk corn soup was available at dinner but I missed out on it, my own fault.

I think I'm the only one who feels that the buffet style has actually improved since the COVID-19 pandemic, with dishes being served in smaller portions. The appearance and taste are still great, and I think it would be preferred by female guests. I didn't go for seconds due to being on a diet, but all the dishes I tried were ones I would definitely want to eat again. The infection control measures and the staff's hospitality were solid, providing a sense of security. Truly impressive, as expected from the Tsurugaya Group. I will definitely use their services again when I visit my hometown.

I went to the Lake Tsuruga Resort Mizunooto in Hokkaido to relax. I enjoyed a healthy buffet for both dinner and breakfast. The food was delicious and satisfying. For dinner, in addition to the buffet, I could choose one recommended dish from the chef. This time, I chose the roast of Hokkaido Wagyu beef and the Red Moon grill with a red wine sauce and wasabi. For breakfast, I indulged in freshly baked croissants and other items. The room with the outdoor hot spring bath was also excellent.

I was recommended by a travel agency for a luxurious accommodation and meals. My family arranged everything so I don't know the price, but the quality was definitely top-notch. I wanted to try everything because it all looked so delicious. We shared and conquered all four dessert varieties (laughs). They were delicious, but we were too full.

The dinner buffet offers a choice between a main dish of either beef steak or grilled king crab, with social distancing measures in place. Guests can select various ingredients to plate on their own small dishes. The dessert selection is also impressive, with the chef offering to plate a dessert plate from a choice of four options. For breakfast, freshly baked bread is brought to the table on a wagon, and the chef prepares a fresh smoothie drink from a selection of five options.

Located on the shores of Lake Shikotsu in Hokkaido, the large spa resort "Shikotsuko Tsuruga Resort Spa Mizunouta" offers a modern and stylish luxury hotel with 57 rooms. It is conveniently located just over an hour from Sapporo, nestled in the nature-rich Shikotsu Lake hot spring area. The hot spring water is a fantastic carbonated hydrogen carbonate spring that leaves your skin smooth and silky. The lake's pristine water is so good that everyone drinks the tap water drawn from the lake. This resort spa, which is healing and health-focused, aims to provide total relaxation and well-being. During a previous visit a few years ago, I was impressed by the quality of the hot spring water and the delicious meals, but the service aspect seemed lacking in attention to detail typical of a large hotel. Hoping for improved service this time around, I stayed in the luxury suite once again. The spacious room with a lake view also has a private outdoor bath, allowing you to enjoy the best hot water at your leisure. However, the reception service was inflexible, refusing to accommodate small room charges and making me pay in cash from the room's safety box. The service fell short of what is expected from a high-end hotel. Various shortcomings were noticeable, such as a broken scale in the public bath and a missing button on the poncho. Despite providing feedback at checkout, there was no response from the hotel. A more personalized service is needed for guests staying at higher room categories to elevate the hotel to a true luxury resort. The only saving grace was the veteran room attendant, who provided helpful advice at the pillow gallery for selecting a suitable pillow. The delicious meals also contribute to the hotel's appeal, with a well-crafted kaiseki dinner featuring fresh ingredients and creative dishes. The savoriness of the sashimi and the flavorful grilled salted smelt were exceptional, but the highlight was the salmon and ikura rice dish at the end, which was truly outstanding. Given the quality of the cuisine, improving the personal service for guests in higher room categories could further enhance the hotel's reputation. This was the conclusion of my second stay.

Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus, I am refraining from dining out. I visited the Lake Shikotsu Onsen "Shikotsuko Tsuruga Resort Spa Mizunouta" with my wife, parents-in-law, and parents to show filial piety and enjoy the hot springs. When I asked, "What will we do about the novel coronavirus?" they said, "It's not crowded, so it should be fine." So, we went. We left our car at the entrance, checked in, and were greeted in the front lobby with harp music. We were guided to a room at the end of a long corridor. The room was spacious and comfortable. Although the room size was the same, they upgraded us to a room with a private outdoor bath. Thanks to the novel coronavirus, we received this benefit of having the place to ourselves. We appreciated the kind gesture and enjoyed our stay. We were welcomed with a service of Welcome Sweets. As photography was not allowed in the hot springs, I have no pictures. After bathing, we had a buffet at the restaurant. There was a variety of dishes, including meat, fish, and vegetables. I chose a T-bone steak of lamb, while my wife opted for vegetable dishes. We also had scallops and edamame. The food was delicious, and the variety made us want to drink alcohol. We ordered a bottle of red wine and enjoyed it with our meal. The freshly baked pizzas were also a highlight. The next morning, we had breakfast at the same restaurant, with hot rice served at each table. The lobby had a fireplace, creating a cozy atmosphere in the evening. It was our first time staying at Tsuruga Resort, and we were well taken care of. The value for the price was definitely worth it. My wife's parents were pleased with the relaxing experience. There were no Chinese tourists, and we had a wonderful meal. Thank you!
