I came to see the muscle competition again this year. I entered the venue at 1:00 PM and ended up staying until the ranking announcement at 8:00 PM. I didn't plan to stay for so long... It's already this late, so I agree to eat dinner and then go home. I had originally planned to go to the revolving sushi restaurant at Stella Place, but there was a long line even at this hour, so I gave up. I found a tonkatsu restaurant next to the sushi restaurant. I ordered the "Yokubari Special Rosu Katsu Gozen" for 1,600 yen. It took a little while for the food to arrive. The white lump that I thought was a soft-boiled egg from the menu photo turned out to be grated daikon (radish) (laughs). I was surprised at the culture of eating tonkatsu with grated daikon, as I had never encountered it before. First, for the sake of my health, I drizzled yuzu dressing on the cabbage and had it first. The pork cutlet was cut into bite-sized pieces, making it easy to eat. It was satisfying in terms of both heat and thickness. It came with miso sauce by default, which left a lingering taste. There was also a separate sauce that was lighter in taste compared to the miso sauce. Both sauces tasted delicious with the tonkatsu. I ended up feeling more full than I had imagined and was satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Stayed in Sapporo with my child. They said they wanted to eat tonkatsu for dinner. Oh, I could go to Wako near my house, but we're in Sapporo after all... However, it would be a pity to deny the child who rarely expresses a desire to eat here, so we decided on Wako. When we entered, there was a notice on the table about half price for children! What luck. The child ordered the hydrangea with two shrimp fries, which is their favorite, for 1,050 yen instead of 2,100 yen, and I ordered the grated pork cutlet for 1,480 yen. Wako's tonkatsu is originally tender and has a crispy large breadcrumb coating, which is a favorite of both the child and myself. The child ate every crumb of the breadcrumbs. I enjoyed mine with half topped with grated daikon and soy sauce, and the other half with plenty of mustard and sauce. It was a more luxurious experience than usual at Wako.

The rice was cooked perfectly and the miso soup was delicious. I liked that the cabbage refill came in a small dish, it was better than before. The portion size of the tonkatsu was satisfying. Please continue to offer unlimited rice, miso soup, and cabbage refill.

Sixth floor of Stella Place. Even before opening, there is a long line at the famous restaurants. Visitors who come for sightseeing want to eat delicious food in Sapporo, right? It is conveniently located near Sapporo Station, making it easy to use for those who come from afar and those who are planning to go. The restaurant I chose this time is Tonkatsu Wako. The calm interior and the gentle service of the staff are nice. I ordered the recommended Hanagoyomi, and my friend ordered a combination of loin and fillet with rice. The tonkatsu arrived in about 10 minutes from ordering, piping hot. The miso soup in the set was made with clams, and it was delicious with a rich flavor. The rice was fluffy and shiny. The cabbage was piled high and fluffy. My Hanagoyomi set included shrimp fry, shrimp cream croquette, and a bite-sized fillet cutlet. First, I tried the shrimp fry. The coating was crispy, and the shrimp was tender and juicy. It was big and satisfying to eat. The cream croquette had a creamy shrimp-flavored filling that was thick and very tasty. Just be careful because the cream inside is very hot! I enjoyed dipping the shrimp fry and cream croquette alternately in the sauce and tartar sauce. The fillet was soft and had a deep flavor. I enjoyed it with salt and sauce. I was satisfied with the tonkatsu and had a very satisfying lunch!

On April 17, 2023, I visited a restaurant with the intention of eating fried food that I had decided on a month prior. While strolling through the restaurant area at Stella Place, I came across Wako and immediately went in. I chose the rib roast and couldn't help but smile at the sight of it. I wanted that fatty goodness. My girlfriend ordered a single bite-sized pork cutlet, if I remember correctly. It was a weekday, but even after lunchtime, the place was quite crowded. I started with a bottle of Kirin Lager beer. By the time I finished it, our order arrived. We had three sauces - salt, miso, and tonkatsu sauce - to go with our meal. They were all delicious, but the one with plenty of mustard in it was the best. I enjoyed a second bottle of beer before leaving. It was a great feeling. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I had tonkatsu at Washoku Stella Place for the first time in a while. I usually go to Aoki-san on the main street and have the SPF pork loin cooked rare. However, I happened to pass by and noticed the Joshu Tokoton Rosu Katsu with rice, so I went in. The tonkatsu with shiso salt was delicious. The rice is all-you-can-eat, as well as the miso soup with clams and cabbage. The cost performance is excellent. The sauce is slightly spicy, and there is also dressing for changing the taste of the cabbage. Of course, I had seconds of the miso soup with clams. It was very delicious.

I had dinner at Washou-san tonight because I plan to watch fireworks at JR Tower. I ordered the usual shrimp fry, but this time it tasted a bit oily. It wasn't like this when I used to eat it before... Is my taste bud betraying me again? Haha.

I ordered the "Wasyoku Gohan" (950 yen) with a thin and small pork cutlet. It's smaller than other lunch menus at different restaurants, which is a bit disappointing, but the taste is good. The breadcrumbs are crispy and very delicious. At this time, it might be good to order two servings of the "Wasyoku Gohan", although the price will be higher, the thick-cut pork cutlet is also delicious. The rice grains are large and shiny, with a perfect sweetness and very delicious. The miso soup only contains clams and was just right in terms of flavor, not too strong or weak. I had passed by this place many times before, but this was my first visit. I entered as soon as they opened, so I was probably the second customer. I ordered the limited-time autumn special, which included shrimp, oysters, pork cutlet, croquette, and a generous serving. Everything was fried crispy and delicious. You can get refills of cabbage, rice, and miso soup. I also tried the steamed egg custard for an additional charge, as recommended by the staff, and it was satisfying with plenty of ingredients. In April 2022, I had soba and beer at a restaurant and it put me in a great mood. I decided to go to another restaurant for lunch. I walked from Paseo to the 6th floor of Stella Place where there is a dining area. It was crowded with young people, and there was a long line at a xiaolongbao shop. I passed by that and went to "Wako," a famous tonkatsu restaurant. I ordered the kikyo set and a glass of beer. The tonkatsu was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and not greasy. The clam miso soup was also delicious. They offer unlimited rice, miso soup, and cabbage, so you can eat as much as you want. It was so tasty and satisfying. I remembered that there is a Wako in Kushiro too, I wonder if they are related. Thank you for the meal.

For lunch on a bright day, I had tonkatsu at Wako in Stella Place to prepare for a challenging work ahead. I chose the Wako special with two pieces of pork loin cutlet and rice for ¥1250. You can have unlimited refills of rice, cabbage, and miso soup. Tonkatsu and rice are the ultimate combo, right? Of course, I had seconds. Also, the shredded cabbage at tonkatsu restaurants is so delicious. I like to start with sauce on the cabbage and then switch to dressing halfway through. The yuzu dressing here was tasty. It was a satisfying lunch.

The calm interior with partitions covers both privacy and Corosuke, so there are many elderly people as well as solo female customers. There is no BGM... faintly audible music box sounds come from the floor or staff. The staff provide courteous service. The "Wako set meal" comes with rice, cabbage, and miso soup, and you can get refills. The lightly fatty meat has a firm and bouncy texture, while the lean meat is moist and tender. The fatty part at the edge melts in your mouth. The cabbage has a refreshing yuzu-flavored ponzu sauce. The rice is sticky with a brand name. The clam soup, which I ordered extra because I drank too much, warms the stomach. Overall, it has a nationwide reputation for a reason.

The restaurant offers both dining and takeout options. During a visit to Sapporo Stella Place with my usual companion, we found the restaurant on the 6th floor of Sapporo Stella Place, directly connected to JR Sapporo Station in Sapporo's Chuo Ward. For more details on the location, please check on Tabelog. We visited around 11:30 am on a weekday, and the casual tonkatsu restaurant was not crowded yet. We were quickly seated at a table. The weekday lunch menu offers about six options, with the set including unlimited rice, miso soup, and shredded cabbage. I ordered the weekday lunch "W Wako Rice," and my companion also chose the same. After a 14-minute wait, our lunches arrived. The W Wako Rice lunch featured two large pieces of loin cutlet, thick and tender, with a crispy coating. The side dishes included unlimited shredded cabbage, pickled radish, pickled turnip, and simple miso soup with more than 10 baby clams. The meal was priced at 1250 yen including tax, offering a good value for two substantial tonkatsu pieces. We both enjoyed the meal, especially the crispy cutlets, and rated it 4.1 out of 5. When it comes to tonkatsu at Sapporo Station, I always think of Washou. Washou rice is a good deal at 890 yen with unlimited refills of three side dishes. As usual, there are long lines at Paseo but the nearby StepRe is usually less crowded. It was the same on this day. Is it because there are no blockbuster movies playing? However, Hanamaru always has a huge line!! I enjoyed a stable rosu at the quiet and empty Washou.

We went to Sapporo with my family of three for dinner at Stella Place. My wife casually suggested a black pork restaurant, but I insisted on having tonkatsu instead. It's been a while since we visited "Wako", and whenever we come here, we always end up ordering the set menu. We ordered the "Sazanka" set for 1,180 yen, which includes one bite-sized tonkatsu (2 pieces) and a cheese-filled menchi-katsu. The tonkatsu was tender and crispy, but I personally prefer the pork loin with a bit of fat. The menchi-katsu with cheese was delicious as always. I made sure to dip it in soy sauce. I came to Sapporo for my father's birthday, and he wanted to eat tonkatsu. We went to a tonkatsu restaurant in the restaurant district while we were at Stella. We all agreed on ordering the special premium loin cutlet set meal. It comes with unlimited cabbage, rice, and miso soup. Since it's a special premium, it includes salt, miso sauce, and grated radish as standard toppings. If not, you'll be charged 100 yen for each topping. They provide sauce and dressing at the table. The meat is huge! Even bigger than Iwai. The taste is similar to Iwai. I couldn't eat much rice because I was too busy enjoying the meat and cabbage. The miso soup had clams in it, which was a nice touch. It was very delicious. A delicious tonkatsu meal, bon appétit!

I had tonkatsu at Stella Place. Last time I ate here, there was a mistake with the order, but this time everything was fine. It was a very cold day when I visited, so I had the "Rosu Katsu Nabe Omote" dish. It's basically a different version of katsudon, but the katsu was simmering in the pot, and I enjoyed it while it was piping hot. Since it's served separately, the seasoning is a bit mild, which was just right and made me feel warm inside. It's nice to have these seasonal katsu dishes once in a while.

I felt like having some meat, so I was going to order tonkatsu, but the oysters also looked delicious, so I chose a menu where I could have both. You can have unlimited refills of cabbage, rice, and miso soup. The cabbage is plentiful and can make you quite full on its own. Tonkatsu sauce, soy sauce, and yuzu dressing are brought to your table. I really like the refreshing taste of the yuzu dressing. There was plenty of rice, so I should have asked for a smaller portion. The fried oysters come with tartar sauce. The cutlets were tender and crispy, and I was very satisfied.

When I was in Sendai, there was a Saboten restaurant in the underground station where I would occasionally go to eat. But in Sapporo, there is no Saboten restaurant... even if there is, it's just a deli, it seems. So I went to Wako instead. I used to think Wako was delicious, but wait, was the tonkatsu always this thin? When I want to eat at a tonkatsu restaurant and have a hearty meal, I realize that I prefer Saboten. It might just be my personal preference, but I really like having Saboten available.

Pork meat is something I suddenly crave sometimes, so when I was at Stella, I was trying to decide between shabu-shabu, pork bowl, or tonkatsu. In the end, I chose tonkatsu. They had a special price for the loin cutlet set, so I ordered it and waited for about 10 minutes. Here comes the loin cutlet set! Wait, huh? Is this a loin cutlet? It tastes like fillet? When I mentioned it to the staff, they said they would remake it, but I didn't want to wait longer so I declined and had the fillet cutlet set instead. It was a bit disappointing not getting the loin I wanted, but it was still delicious. By the way, I was charged the price of the loin cutlet at checkout.
