Located a 7-minute walk from the municipal subway Odori Station, this izakaya offers fresh seafood, Hokkaido beef, and vegetables grilled on an open hearth. One of their specialties is grilled and steamed oysters, starting at 155 yen per piece. The oysters are delivered daily from the renowned seafood processing company Sato Suisan. Sato Suisan is well-known at Hokkaido product exhibitions nationwide. The grilled and steamed oysters from Akkeshi have a rich and sweet flavor with a refreshing taste. The creamy texture was excellent. Their sashimi platter includes medium fatty tuna, salmon, bonito, flounder fin, and more, offering a crunchy freshness. The grilled turban shell has a hint of sea flavor and a chewy texture that is a must-try for shellfish lovers. The chicken with wasabi dish features moist rare chicken meat paired with wasabi, delivering a perfect balance of spiciness and freshness. I went to the monthly Shamo Jiro-kai in Sapporo, Chuo-ku, Hokkaido, looking forward to what I could eat this time. When I entered the restaurant: - Water eggplant sashimi for ¥585 - Striped jack collar for ¥500 - Crispy Original Zangi for ¥695 The recommended dish of the day was the water eggplant sashimi, with a chewy texture that goes well with alcohol. I also found the collar among the various dried items, which I love. The saltiness was just right, and I couldn't stop eating it. And of course, we ended with the Original Zangi. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, this Zangi is truly addictive. I could eat it endlessly. It was delicious as always. The complimentary miso soup and the steamed egg custard appetizer were also a nice touch with their gentle flavors. Looking forward to the next Shamo Jiro-kai. Thank you for the meal!

Located in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido, I visited the monthly Shamo Jirokai as usual in great condition and feeling good. Let's enter the store! - Kanjankejan (snow crab) ¥1,380 - Namako vinegar ¥680 - Original zangi ¥690 - Ara soup (complimentary) - Chawanmushi (appetizer) As soon as I sat down, the manager said, "There's something you absolutely must try!" What could it be? Of course, I had to try it. It turned out to be the crab Kanjankejan, which is basically crab marinated in soy sauce. It was freshly made and absolutely delicious. I couldn't stop eating it. The soy sauce seasoning was perfect, and the crab meat and miso were exquisite. Next, the manager recommended the Namako vinegar, which was a delight this season. The large cuts provided a great texture and made for a perfect snack. Lastly, we had the crispy zangi, which I had been craving. The texture was addictive as always. The complimentary ara soup and the chawanmushi served as appetizers were much appreciated. The chawanmushi had a gentle and delicious flavor. The restaurant was bustling with customers that day, and I am already looking forward to next month's Shamo Jirokai. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Here is a review of a familiar restaurant in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido, called Shamo Jiro-kai. It has become a monthly gathering for me, and this time I went alone. I ordered Kanjanseu for ¥780, Chicken Wasabi for ¥580, Menma as a side dish, and Crispy Zangi & Fried Oysters (prices not mentioned). I enjoyed the meal with three delicious prawn dishes and my favorite Chicken Wasabi. The crispy Zangi and Fried Oysters were also very satisfying. The Menma was a nice palate cleanser. The complimentary miso soup was greatly appreciated. I am looking forward to the next Shamo Jiro-kai in July to see what new dishes I will discover. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Located in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido, the monthly regular event, Shamo Jiro-kai, was held again this month. Always looking forward to what kind of menu they offer. I headed to the usual counter and entered the restaurant. White asparagus grilled for ¥780, chicken with wasabi for ¥580, original Zangi, and oyster fry were on the menu. The prices for Zangi and oyster fry were not included. The white asparagus, which only appears at this time of the year, was delicious when grilled with salt or melted butter. What was even more delicious this time was the chicken with wasabi. It was a grade-up version of the usual chicken with wasabi and truly a winner. The texture was excellent and it was so good that I could keep eating it. And of course, the reliable Zangi and oyster fry were also delicious. Another satisfying Shamo Jiro-kai event ended. It was so delicious! The next event is scheduled for June. I will go whenever I feel like it. Thank you for the meal.

Today was a day of complaining about work. It's been a while since I've seen Shamo Jiro. This restaurant has a wide variety of menu items and everything is delicious. That's why I come here quite often! The service is also good. I ordered a lot of things but didn't manage to take any photos. The oysters are always amazing! I will definitely come back again.

Here's what I ordered: - Original Zangi (¥690): Crispy and delicious, just as I wanted. - Lamb loin Karaage (¥790): I debated between this and grilled, but the Karaage was flavorful and tasty. - Ikura Cheese (¥580): A must-have dish, incredibly delicious and addictive. Just to clarify, the restaurant itself was not the issue, it was just my personal mood. I was happy to find out that they offer all-you-can-drink even for solo customers, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the assorted sashimi on a big ladle for 898 yen, grilled and steamed oysters for 100 yen each, forget the price of the scallops, deer meat as a service, smoked pork skewers (forgot the price), the real deal Kazuchi cheese, herring sashimi as a service, and more. The sashimi was fresh and delicious, the oysters were affordable, and the scallops were sweet and tasty. They even had deer meat as a unique option and the Kazuchi cheese was a standout dish, a perfect combination of cheese and fish roe that melted in my mouth. Despite a rough day, the night turned out to be a great one thanks to the delicious food and drinks at this restaurant. And the best part is, they also offer shipping to other regions, so I ordered a Kazuchi cheese and assorted set to be sent to Nagoya. Can't wait to enjoy it again. I will definitely be back. "I wanted to try an all-you-can-eat oyster experience, so I found this restaurant offering it for 2,500 yen. I called to inquire about the all-you-can-eat oysters, and they confirmed that they offer it. I made a reservation through their website after considering the date and time. Shortly after, the restaurant called me to explain the oyster pricing. For regular orders, oysters are 110 yen for up to 2 oysters, and 165 yen for the 3rd oyster onwards. However, if you visit and register as a friend on their SNS, you can eat as many oysters as you want for 110 yen each on that day. For the all-you-can-eat option, it costs 2,500 yen, but you need to order at least 2 food items priced at 330 yen or more each in addition to the oysters. If you register as a friend on SNS, it's better to order oysters individually rather than opting for the all-you-can-eat option unless you are confident you can eat more than 25 oysters. Since I wasn't sure about eating 25 oysters, I decided to register as a friend on SNS and thanked them for their assistance. On the day of the reservation, I arrived at the restaurant, and they informed me that the oysters were from Miyagi Prefecture, not Akkeshi, so the price was 165 yen per oyster. I mentioned that I had inquired about the pricing over the phone two days ago, and after a brief confusion, they honored the 110 yen price as promised. We ordered drinks and a steamed egg custard as a starter, which was decent. As for the oysters, you could choose between steamed and grilled. They were flavorful and delicious, although a bit salty. Apart from oysters, they also offered grilled dishes and sashimi, but I couldn't decide on other dishes I wanted to try. I ended up eating 2 steamed oysters and 2 grilled oysters, while my partner enjoyed 9 of each and was satisfied. The oysters were delicious, so it was a good experience overall. The total bill included a cover charge, service charge, and 5% service charge. It wasn't particularly cheap but rather standard izakaya pricing. Perhaps it would feel more reasonable if it were a set course meal. We visited in November 2022."

We had a light second party. As always, the cost performance and taste were excellent. We visited without a reservation, but the place was almost full. Only one table was available. We ordered four steamed oysters for 100 yen each. They were delicious. We also tried the rare dish of herring roe wrapped in kelp. And there was also Tachipon vinegar to mark the start of the season. The herring roe wrapped in kelp turned out to be salmon roe, which was unexpected but still good. I've always thought that kelp goes well with herring roe. The Tachipon vinegar was fresh and tasty. In Hokkaido, it's the season for delicious oysters, especially from Akkeshi, which are now in season. I was thinking, "Hmm, I want to eat oysters," when I saw a sign that said "Oysters from 100 yen~". The "~" caught my attention. I had to go check it out. I entered the restaurant and it was quite crowded. I sat at the counter and first ordered a drink. Since I didn't want beer this time, I opted for all-you-can-drink without beer. I planned to enjoy oysters with a highball. I immediately ordered oysters. Looking at the menu, it was 100 yen for up to two oysters per person, and 150 yen from the third one. I see, so that's what the "~" in the sign meant (laughs). For the two of us, I ordered four steamed oysters at 100 yen each. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much in terms of quality, as long as I could eat oysters, it was fine. I also ordered the recommended shell-on sea urchin, abalone sashimi, and dried octopus for one night. - Shell-on Sea Urchin 300 yen each First, the sea urchin arrived. It was 300 yen, so it was a sea urchin worth 300 yen. It was small (laughs). Well, it was 300 yen. But the spines were moving. You could tell it was just opened. I scooped it up with a small spoon about twice, but the taste was surprisingly good! - Abalone Sashimi 500 yen each Well, it was 500 yen, and the abalone was small in size. There were about four pieces with liver attached. The meat was firm enough to show that it was just alive. The raw liver didn't have a bad taste, which was surprising. When the freshness is good, even the raw liver tastes good. But this would go better with sake than a highball. - Steamed Oysters After enjoying the sea urchin and abalone, the oysters arrived. Oh, the meat was plump and it was bigger than expected for 100 yen. It was half-cooked. When you eat it, it tastes so good, like the taste of the season. This is only 100 yen!? In Tokyo, it would probably cost around 400 yen each. Amazing! So, I added 6 more oysters. I followed their LINE account to get the discount for the 3rd oyster and above at 100 yen each. - Dried Octopus The dried octopus is usually small in edible parts for its size, but the one that came was already big! The meat was plump, full of fat, and sweet. This was delicious. Surprisingly, there was plenty of meat. - Bonus Fried Flounder Wait, they gave me such a splendid fried flounder as a service? The fin part was crispy, including small bones, and the meat was fluffy. It was delicious. And as I was leaving, they gave me bean sprouts as a souvenir. It was too wonderful. After a long time, I went to Shamo Jiro! The menu has been renewed and there were so many things I wanted to eat more than last time, so I ended up ordering a lot! Everything was delicious, had good value for money, and I was extremely satisfied! It was really delicious! I especially liked the chawanmushi as the appetizer. All-you-can-drink, seafood steamed rice bowl, fresh white fish tempura, seafood mix, tachipon vinegar, beef skirt steak for 5349 yen at a charcoal-grilled izakaya. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. Perhaps due to the season, we also received some complimentary dishes like yellowtail collar and bean sprout namul. The seafood steamed rice bowl was served as an appetizer and was delicious with plenty of ingredients. The fresh white fish tempura was crispy and delicious with a squeeze of lemon. The seafood mix is apparently a specialty of this restaurant, made with raw salmon, grilled salmon, cucumber, and topped with ikura and masago. Personally, I didn't enjoy it much. The tachipon vinegar was disappointing with the tachipon being too thin and watery. The beef skirt steak was good quality but the sauce was too strong, leaving a bit more to be desired.

My wife and I had plans, so I, finishing work early, waited for her. I chose this place because it's close to where I work and the meeting should be quick. It's a place with terrace seating, not very beautiful, on the sidewalk. I wanted to enjoy a small beer and the summer atmosphere. Since I was short on time, I only ordered a beer. For food, I had homemade marinated mackerel, a jumbo pork skewer, and a dried chicken thigh. I also had a chilled scallop chawanmushi. The beer was served at the same time as the food, which was disappointing. The size was small and the taste was just okay. The quality of the food was not very high, with some items seeming fresh and others frozen. There were some delays, and I wanted to use the place for a short time, so I am hesitant about returning to this restaurant next time.

I went with my family last week and everything was delicious!! Especially the sashimi was delicious, and even though I'm not a fan of oysters, the oysters here were delicious! I've become a fan of oysters. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. I'm likely to become a regular customer.

I used it for a drinking party from an early time. The back room had a low entrance beam, and some people hit their heads (*_*) You have to take off your shoes, but it's a seated style. For drinks, we ordered a variety of options because it was all-you-can-drink. The oolong highball was a bit light... I briefly wondered if I had ordered a highball. For chu-hi drinks, I wanted a stirrer. The lemon sour, a specialty of the place, had a consistent taste. For food, you had to order at least two items per person because of the all-you-can-drink rule. The oysters, which are the restaurant's specialty, were large and delicious. They cost less than 300 yen each, so they didn't count towards the rule (but they were delicious). There were various options like sashimi and grilled fish. I enjoyed seasonal items like tachipon and smelt tempura. It was not related to the season, but the chanja dish had a taste I liked (I wanted to pair it with cream cheese). It's a bit off the main street, but they had the last train time posted in the restroom, which I thought was considerate.

A cozy izakaya with many tatami mat seating areas. It has a lively atmosphere that is perfect for drinking with friends. The braised pork belly was delicious. The location is a bit away from Odori Street, so you have to walk a bit, but it might also mean that the place is less crowded. Overall, it's a pretty nice restaurant.
