On days when my wife comes home late, I wander around alone and feel like having a drink. I quickly searched for a nearby place and visited "Naniwa Hitokuchi Gyoza Chachao Sapporo Tokiwa Store." First, I ordered a beer for 480 yen. Then, I tried the Chachao Gyoza (half size), which consisted of small stick-shaped gyoza lined up on a plate. Each gyoza was wrapped in thin skin, creating a mini-sized stick gyoza. They were not tightly sealed, so you have to be careful when handling them to prevent the skin and filling from falling apart. The gyoza had a crispy texture and a flavorful filling, which paired well with the sauce and beer. I also ordered the "Grilled Gyoza (with green onion and salt) for 510 yen." These gyoza were topped with green onions and drizzled with a salt sauce, providing a refreshing and lightly seasoned taste. I ended up eating more than I planned, so I decided to head home instead of going to another place. Thank you for the meal. Note: Smoking is allowed throughout the restaurant.

2022/07/22 Revisited. Following a recommendation from Kappogi-san, I tried the Naniwa Hitokuchi Gyoza at Chao Chao Sapporo Tokeidai Store. It had been a while since my last visit. I'm glad they were still open. It seems like they have made some changes to their menu and sets. This time, I ordered the "casual set" from the menu. The set costs 1,300 yen and includes one drink, one small dish, and two pieces of Chao Chao gyoza. I chose beer for my drink and bean sprout namul for the small dish. The beer was nicely chilled and delicious. The bean sprout namul was light and a perfect side dish for the gyoza. The Chao Chao gyoza had a nostalgic, garlicky punch to it. I enjoyed dipping them in vinegar soy sauce and miso sauce alternately. Yum, it was delicious. Since this was my second stop today, I only had the set and left. I hope to visit again soon. Thank you for the meal.

I was impressed by the dumplings and beer I had. There were so many different types of dumplings to choose from that I couldn't decide. The standout for me was the mackerel dumplings. Mackerel and shiso make a great combination. The group of salarymen at the next table were annoying with their preaching, but surprisingly, the atmosphere was great. As I enjoyed my beer, I couldn't help but notice how the focus of their lecture shifted towards their subordinates, and it made me think about how I don't want to age that way. Oh, sorry, I got off track. The chive dumplings were also delicious, but the Chao Chao dumplings were generous in portion size and the dumpling soup was overflowing, making it the perfect companion to my beer. In reality, I ate double the amount shown in the photo because it was so delicious. Also, the miso sauce was tasty, so give it a try!

Chao Chao Gyoza is located right by Sapporo Station. They offer a variety of gyoza options and I like that they have a half size option (3 pieces). It's nice to see them handmade right in front of you. I ordered Chao Chao Gyoza, shrimp gyoza, and mackerel gyoza along with beer. They were all light and delicious! I especially liked the shrimp gyoza, it was crispy and tasty. It's great that you can dine alone here. I will definitely visit again!

Next to Cross Hotel, I went to Chao Chao to eat dumplings. I was surprised by the variety of options and took some time to decide on my order. I had a beer and a set of 5 different dumplings, including the classic and mackerel, all in a small size. The taste was great, especially the mackerel dumpling. It was a quick and enjoyable experience to sit down, drink, and eat. The staff were efficient and friendly. There was no parking lot, so be sure to check the prices and time limits at nearby coin parking lots before parking.

It's been quite a while since I last visited. Despite the current situation, there are many customers here. It feels like the set I used to have has changed. It can't be helped in times like these. The beer promotion is gone, but I'm grateful that the restaurant is still open. I'll have my usual beer with bean sprout namul and chao chao dumplings set. The namul has a light and good flavor. The dumplings have a pretty strong seasoning, so this lightness is appreciated. Why do cold beer and dumplings go so well together? I always end up eating too much, so today I tried to eat in moderation. With the second cold beer, I'm done for today. I hope to come back soon and not be a stranger. I have a feeling I'll come back seeking this rich flavor again.

My long-time dream has come true! It may sound a bit exaggerated, but I have always wanted to visit this restaurant, but couldn't find the location or ended up thinking it had closed down. To me, it was a mysterious place (laughs). Those who have easily visited might not understand, right? One Friday night, I opened the door to find it fully booked - turns out Fridays are not a good day to go. Then, one night, I opened the door and saw the counter was open! Finally, I could try the dumplings at this restaurant (o^^o) Excitedly, I took a seat at the counter. I ordered the tipsy set A with a variety of dumplings for 970 yen and a half order of Chao Chao dumplings for 320 yen. Since I was there, I decided to try other types of dumplings as well - with green onions, curry, vegetable with rice flour, and plump shrimp. Each one had its own unique flavor and they were all delicious! The main reason I visited that day was to try the Chao Chao dumplings! I couldn't leave without ordering them. The Chao Chao dumplings were exactly as I had imagined - tightly packed thin dumplings that were a joy to separate with chopsticks (laughs). But once separated and taken a bite, they were delicious! Just as I had expected. Because they were thin, I ended up getting more. On my way out, when I said "It was delicious," the response was, "It was delicious. Thank you!" with lots of energy! Maybe it was the manager? Thank you very much! It made me feel warm and fuzzy. While some places don't say anything when you compliment the food, this place made me feel like they appreciated it. I settled the bill while expressing my gratitude for the delicious meal. In a world where some places don't acknowledge your praise, this place made me feel like I want to come back again. It's a very good and delicious restaurant. A place I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal (╹◡╹) ===========

On my way home from work, I was lured in by the savory smell of dumplings and ended up stopping by. I ordered a set that came with beer, two dumplings, and a few small side dishes. The beer arrived first, so I used the side dishes as appetizers while waiting for the dumplings to be cooked. When the dumplings were served, my beer was almost finished, so I ordered another one. The dumplings were small and lined up in a row on a plate, and I decided to eat them as they were without separating them. The outside was crispy and there was a decent amount of meat inside, making them very delicious. The beer and dumplings complemented each other perfectly, creating a blissful moment of enjoyment.

I passed by once, but then my feet turned back. It's not half-price beer day, but that's okay, let's attack! Let's start with a light buzz set. They also have a full stomach set, but I don't think I can eat rice. Let's kick things off with the usual light buzz! Edamame and namul. The usual gentle flavors. The edamame is really delicious. It's not just about the dumplings, it's about the spirit they convey. Here comes the usual one dumpling. It's thin, so it feels like a snack dumpling. Let's enjoy some snacks while adding more beer. Let's eat with gusto today. I'll add three more green onion salt dumplings. I got a little carried away. It's a weekday, but the seats are full. It's bustling here. The next half-price beer day is on February 19th. The 19th... a weekday... I wonder if I can make it... I always think that, but I'll probably end up coming in a hurry. That's how I feel.

"I declare that I love dumplings! But the truth is, I love dumplings with beer, so having beer is important. Cha Cha Cha is a nationwide chain restaurant. I went there once in Kobe. If you make a reservation, you get one free Cha Cha Cha dumpling per person (I forgot to take a picture). What a wonderful service. It's okay that some parts of the dumpling skin are a bit undercooked. The assorted dumplings plate is a fun dish where you can enjoy a variety of flavors in one piece. My favorite was probably the shrimp dumplings! They only contain plump shrimp! It's a dream for shrimp lovers. As for the long dumplings, I think I prefer the asparagus ones. Dumplings that go well with beer, hooray for dumplings!"

Let's have a quick drink and head home! When you feel like that, this is the place to go. Today is not half-price beer day, so it's relatively empty. But customers are coming in one after another. Set start! Edamame, bean sprout namul, one beer, and a plate of Chao Chao dumplings. You can order any drink under 430 yen besides beer. The light bean sprout namul makes the beer even more delicious. While munching on edamame, waiting for the dumplings. The dumplings...this size is just right. Eating them here goes really well with this stick dumpling. I added another beer and ordered one shrimp and asparagus long dumpling. The long dumpling that came out was cut into four pieces. It was very easy to eat. I enjoyed it a lot. I feel like before it wasn't cut, but I end up eating the asparagus first. That contrast is important. Once it's gone, the deliciousness is even more pronounced! I was seen off by the always kind staff. Their cute smile made the beer even more delicious. I'm sure I'll be in front of this place on the next half-price day on the 18th. That's how I feel.

Encountered a certain person from Tabelog on the B2 floor of Mitsukoshi at 6:45 pm. I was with my wife while they were alone. When I talked to them, they said they came to buy something that their wife would be happy with because today is "Good Spouse Day"... I didn't even think about it even though I was with my wife. I thought I was valuing my wife, but I felt ashamed of how inadequate I was. Alright, let's cheer up and eat some delicious gyoza. This is my wife's favorite shop. When we entered, we were guided to the counter. There was only 1 seat left, so lucky timing! We ordered the casual set for 1200 yen. It includes one beer, Chaochao gyoza, and edamame. The price may be subtle, but the Super Dry draft beer is delicious so it's okay! The small gyoza with thin skin can be eaten as an appetizer. We added an order of beef tendon stew and a 5-piece gyoza assortment. The beef tendon stew is amazingly delicious! The gyoza flavors were shrimp, vegetable, curry, kujo green onion, and beef burdock. They were tasty, but didn't have that special feeling of a specialty store. To change things up, we ordered chicken cheese gyoza and chicken wing gyoza. Both were fried. The freshness of the oil was good, but it was disappointing that they had a frozen smell. I don't have any motivation to look for something else on the menu. Thank you for the meal~

Finally made it! I had tried a few times before, but it was often full and couldn't get in... Also, it's a bit difficult to get there because you have to park a little far away and walk... This time, I had some errands nearby so I visited. Luckily, it was not as crowded as I expected, probably because the Autumn Fest was ending soon! And this time, I came with a friend so we could try a lot of different types of dumplings, which made me very happy. Normally, you get 5 pieces, but you can also choose a mini set (3 pieces), so even if you're alone, you can try many different types, which is great. When we arrived, we were served one Cha Cha Gyoza per person as a welcome dish. It was delicious! It's like a stick dumpling. In the gyoza popularity ranking, it was 1. Shrimp Gyoza, 2. Chicken Cheese Gyoza, 3. Shiso-flavored Gyoza, 4. Water Gyoza. Since my friend didn't like shiso, we ordered everything except for the Shiso-flavored one. They offer "3-kind set," "4-kind set," and "5-kind set," so it's great for those who want to try a little bit of everything. We ordered: - Chicken Cheese Gyoza (Deep-fried) - Plump Shrimp Gyoza - Vegetable Gyoza with Rice Flour - Curry Gyoza - Kujo Negi (Leek) Gyoza - Water Gyoza - Egg Yolk Cheese Gyoza - Tomato and Mozzarella Cheese Gyoza - Domestic Black Pork Gyoza - Negi Shio (Leek Salt) Gyoza - Homemade Cucumber with Spicy Sauce - Chilled Tofu - Gyoza Skin Pizza - Chocolate Banana Gyoza (Dessert) I really enjoyed all the different types of gyoza! I love gyoza, and I even went to the gyoza hometown of Utsunomiya, but the variety here in Hokkaido is amazing! I would love to visit again! My personal top 3 favorites were: 1. Chicken Cheese Gyoza (Deep-fried) 2. Egg Yolk Cheese Gyoza 3. Plump Shrimp Gyoza Next time, I want to try the Ginger Gyoza and Shiso Gyoza! It was so delicious! Thank you for the meal!

On a regular night after 10 PM, I parted ways with my friends near the bus center and headed to Sapporo Station. I hadn't had a drink yet today. I was looking for a place where I could go in alone. The standing bar I had in mind turned out to be smaller than I thought, and the staff and customers were all having a great time inside. I couldn't get in... (T_T) I spotted another place nearby that seemed like I could enter! But feeling a bit hesitant, I passed by it once. Feeling a bit troubled, I searched for a restaurant that I had saved and was close to my current location. Oh, here it is! Hello! There were some great set menus available, but I was already full... I decided to order a single item. Let's start with a beer! A cute girl who seemed like a regular part-time worker poured the beer for me at the counter. Afterwards, there were some foreigners there, conversing fluently in English. What a surprise! International vibes! I hesitated on the food menu, but ended up ordering half of the spicy red dumplings. They had a half portion available, which was nice! It was only 300 yen. While I was eating, I ordered another beer! Let's get one more snack. I ordered the beef tendon stew for 380 yen. It was already past 11 PM. Since it was late and there didn't seem to be any other places nearby, I decided to have one more beer!! So, the total bill came to a little over 2,000 yen. I did it again... The set menu with a good deal only included one beer anyway. For someone like me who can't resist ordering more beer, going on the half-price beer day on the 26th is the best deal! If you're someone who is fine with just having a meal and one drink, this is a cheap and nice restaurant for you. Also, they have a lot of counter seats and it's a place where you can be left alone, so it's a great spot for dining alone. Most importantly, they don't charge for table charge, so you can order whatever you like. I'll definitely check the half-price day and visit again! Bon appétit! (*ˊ˘ˋ*)

There is a limited time point offer from Docomo. I wondered where I could use it, so I looked it up. Oh, I can use it at that store! Usually it's always half price day, so today I'll attack with a proper meal! Even though it's a weekday, it's quite lively here. There are many tourists and foreigners, with various languages being spoken. First, I ordered a set... This bean sprout namul is so delicious that I want another serving. The flavor is not too strong. I really like this. I started my solo drinking with a cold beer and edamame. Time passes slowly and pleasantly. The half portion of Chao Chao Gyoza has arrived. It's a good amount for one person. I had it with miso sauce. The flavor is addictive. Today, I also ordered the tomato and mozzarella gyoza, the grated daikon gyoza, and added some okra simmered in soy sauce. I'm getting carried away. The crispy cheese edges are delicious, and alternating between the grated daikon and the gyoza was enjoyable. I was so full that I couldn't drink any more beer. With a smile from the friendly waitress, my solo drinking came to an end. I was satisfied with using the limited time points. I'll definitely come back. I have a strong feeling that I will.

Half-price day... I was supposed to be hesitant, but as soon as work was over, I hurriedly headed here. When I arrived in front of the store, it said "Half price on beer no matter how many you drink." People passing by are stopping. I had been aiming for this, so I didn't stop! Let's start with a beer! Today, I started with half portions of Chao Chao dumplings and bean sprout namul. Until the dumplings arrived, I enjoyed the beer with the light namul. Today, I also ordered a light dish, cold tofu. The sauce was already on it from the beginning, which was refreshing. This half portion is just right for one person. The beer goes down so smoothly. Today, I also tried the shiso dumplings. Dumplings and beer go so well together. The shiso dumplings are small and easy to eat, perfect for a light snack. And I ordered one asparagus and shrimp dumpling that I also ordered last time. Being able to order just one is so convenient. I enjoyed three half-price beers and the dumplings, finishing my solo drink. Once again, I left the store feeling refreshed, thanks to the wonderful service. I feel like I'll come back and write another review.

Half-price beer day, today... Even though it's supposed to be a liver-rest day, I purposely passed by the restaurant just to see! Half-price beer no matter how many you drink! Oh, this is a must-go situation, right?! So, I decided to forgo my liver-rest day and went for it! I casually looked at the menu and, out of habit, ordered a set... but the waiter kindly informed me, "Today is half-price beer day." It might be more cost-effective to order items separately. So, I started with half-price beer, bean sprout namul, and half order of Chao Chao dumplings! First, the beer and namul arrived. The namul was light and refreshing. I really like it. This lightness seems to lead to the next appetizer. The dumplings came with miso sauce and vinegar soy sauce, but today I decided to go without sauce. I pursued lightness to the fullest. Since it's half-price, I added another beer. Then, I decided to order shrimp and asparagus stick dumplings. It was quite crowded today. Well, it's always crowded, but today with half-price beer, the orders seem to be busier. I added quail egg simmer and enjoyed a leisurely solo drink. The shrimp and asparagus dumplings had the asparagus coming out first, followed by the shrimp. But it was a winning combination. I enjoyed it. I filled my stomach with quail eggs and savored the third beer. There's a lovely waiter here, guiding the young part-time staff and taking care of the customers. It's refreshing. Young people working hard like that are really attractive. The 27th of next month is half-price day again. I definitely feel like coming back.

I've always wanted to visit this place. Finally, I had the chance to stop by. I can hear the voices of the heavens. It's 6:30 pm on a weekday, but the counter is already quite full. I started with a light drinking set! Some refreshing namul and edamame arrived. I chose beer for my drink. It's soothing after a long day. One Cha Cha Gyoza came as part of the set. It comes with two types of sauce, vinegar soy sauce and miso. I tried both. The miso sauce... it's unique. I've never tasted anything like it before. The gyoza is small and not too heavy, so this sweet miso sauce complements it well. It's great for those with a small appetite. I added another beer and enjoyed my time. I heard they have half-price beer days too. I might come back for that. That's the feeling I have.

Second visit on April 24, 2018. It has been about a month since my last visit to Chao Chao. Today was a lucky day because it was the once a month half-price beer day. I ordered a beer, of course. The beer was well chilled and delicious, especially since it was half-price. I also ordered two pieces of Chao Chao dumplings. The dumplings were on the smaller side but packed with flavorful meat. They were delicious. I tried to order the cabbage-filled dumplings that I had last time, but they were no longer on the menu. When I asked about it, they said they could still make them for me. The cabbage-filled dumplings had a great balance of vegetables and meat, different from the regular dumplings but equally delicious. The staff's customer service was excellent, they were accommodating and friendly. The half-price beer, tasty dumplings, and great service made for a pleasant dining experience. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will definitely come back again.

I visited a restaurant near the clock tower. After finishing a meal with friends, I suddenly felt like eating gyoza, so I decided to stop by this place where I have memories of getting drunk while eating gyoza after having Genghis Khan for lunch in the past. It's funny how memorable places like this leave a strong impression. Anyway, I need to control myself this time! This place is always crowded, but luckily there was an empty counter seat near the entrance this day. Lucky me! I ordered a set that includes a gyoza, edamame namul, and a drink for only 870 yen including tax. Isn't that cheap! The edamame was seasoned just right with salt, and the namul was lightly flavored. Perfect for a light drink. The gyoza arrived hot and crispy after about 7-8 minutes. I enjoyed them with soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil, as well as with vinegar and pepper only. Both ways were delicious! Thin gyoza are also tasty, not just the big ones. I could get addicted to this. As it started to get crowded, I left early. Thank you for the meal!
