May 2023. Our first visit to "Izakaya Yamadaya" was located under the JR overpass, but it was relocated due to demolition. The new location, is it the same size as before? Has it become larger? This time, three middle-aged men visited, with one man coming from Tochigi, one man living nearby but meeting me for the first time. We ordered a variety of dishes, focusing on what the man from Tochigi wanted to eat, and opted for all-you-can-drink alcohol (2,000 yen for 120 minutes), which was a good deal as they did not have a glass exchange system. The dishes we ordered included: - Duck liver (890 yen) - Live sea urchin sashimi (1,480 yen) - Bamboo shoot pancake (600 yen) - Secret Zangi (860 yen) - Monk garlic tempura (680 yen) Looking back, we might have ordered just these with three people, but these were the only pictures we took. Duck liver is one of my favorite dishes, so I always order it when available. The one here is not bad if it's a commercial product! If it's homemade, then it's a nice try! Live sea urchin sashimi is a bit black around the edges, but the flesh is sweet and crunchy, very delicious. We ordered the bamboo shoot pancake and monk garlic tempura as they were in season. The Zangi here is advertised as "secret" and it really does have a good taste! I don't usually praise Zangi, but it's worth trying when you come here! They offer a wide range of staple dishes as before, so it would be particularly convenient for families. That's all, thank you for the meal. After this, we went to a snack bar where the mama from the top luxury club "Chikaru," which closed in 2001, used to work, and the day ended there.
