On the second day of my trip to Hakodate, I wanted to relax and have a coffee, so I found a cozy cafe. It was a standalone house with a spacious parking lot. Inside, there were counter seats and tables for four. I was seated at a table and enjoyed the calming atmosphere. The master was brewing coffee at the counter. Although I wanted a hot coffee, I ordered an iced coffee and a cheesecake. The iced coffee had a balanced flavor with a mild acidity and a rich bitterness, which I liked. The homemade cheesecake was soft with a refreshing acidity and gentle sweetness, pairing perfectly with the coffee. I would love to visit this cafe again when I come back to Hakodate.

It's been a while since my last visit. I ordered the usual Mandheling coffee. The bitterness is still top-notch as always. The coffee jelly I ordered was not too sweet and delicious. I would love to go back again.

This is an afternoon cafe time. This time, I visited Mizuhanagetsu Charyo in Tomioka. It's a bit hidden from Akagawa Street. There is a parking space next to the store. Inside the store, there are counter seats and table seats, giving off a coffee specialty shop vibe. I ordered a Mandheling coffee and a homemade Gateau Chocolat. The coffee was strong and aromatic, while the cake was not too sweet and had a moist texture. The atmosphere was calm and the customers were mostly locals. It's a good place to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee.

After dinner, I took a little break and went to the lovely building with a triangular roof, "Mikadzuki Saryo." The interior has a great atmosphere and is very stylish! My friend had Tanzanian coffee and milk crepe, while I had Viennese coffee and matcha with white bean paste. The milk crepe... the cross-section is beautiful! The Viennese coffee had fluffy whipped cream and a great balance of coffee bitterness. The matcha with white bean paste had two matcha ice creams, so it was very satisfying. The combination of matcha ice cream, white bean paste, and rice cake is just amazing! Everything was delicious. It was a relaxing space with delicious coffee. I was completely healed. It's a bit tucked away, not visible from the national highway, so it might be more for locals. But I love this place because it has a very chic and calming atmosphere! I go there occasionally to relax. The triangular roof is a landmark. They have a good selection of magazines like pen and danntyu, more geared towards adults. I also like that they have a list of movies showing at Cinema Iris and lots of movie flyers. I have checked out movies based on their flyers a few times. Movie lovers should definitely check out this place. Unfortunately, as a cafe, they only have a few cakes available. The cake set includes coffee and creme brulee. I usually go for the cheesecake, but they also have options like gateau chocolat, milk crepe, and shiratama azuki. The cheesecake doesn't have a biscuit base, just the cheese itself, but I quite like its light yet rich taste. I can't drink coffee, so it's a bit wasted on me, but my husband said, "The coffee was really delicious." On January 4th, this was our first stop for our night cafe hopping. It's great that they stay open until 10 pm on non-holidays. We were the only customers at first, so we were able to relax and enjoy the whole atmosphere of the place. (Additional note 2) This is my second visit this year. It's April but still a cold night. Being surrounded by a warm atmosphere while drinking coffee soothes my heart. I had received it from someone I went with a while ago. Personally, I prefer it a bit stronger. The coffee and atmosphere are still great. Very calming. Visit on January 16, 2013. This old coffee shop has been around for a long time. I knew about it from when I was in elementary school, as I used to go to a tennis school nearby. I started going there about 3 or 4 years ago. I really love the atmosphere. It's quiet and very calming. The service is pleasant. And the coffee is delicious. I like that you can choose the amount of water and beans yourself. I'm not very knowledgeable, so it might not be accurate. Somehow, I feel like I've been going more often in the winter. Maybe I'm seeking a warm atmosphere. Visit on December 7, 2012.
