Welcome. ---------- October 2020 ----------Located at Hokkaido 2 West 3, enter the building underground along Chuo Street |o| °д°)ノ Hello. Wasn't this place a yakitori restaurant before? It seems like a difficult place where businesses change frequently. The table seats are covered with rolling curtains, creating a quiet atmosphere with elegant service. Feels a bit out of place for Tom, doesn't it? There is Wi-Fi available, which is convenient (the password is the phone number here). They serve lunch, and I arrived a bit after 1 pm, luckily not many customers came after me. I planned to have the daily special, but it was actually "Hamburger" this Tuesday... So I ended up ordering the "Zangi set" which had 4 large pieces. The zangi was juicy and well-seasoned, served with lettuce, shredded cabbage, and miso soup with wakame. It also came with pickles. Looking at the evening menu, they have a "famous large portion zangi" which seems like a challenge! (I want to try the thick omelet with melted cheese next time). It seems like a place for quick and light meals with reasonable prices, a nice place to spend some time. They allow smoking all day.

I felt like eating some karaage, so I did a little search and found this restaurant. It used to be a stylish izakaya where you could also have lunch, so I assume the format is the same. When you go down to the basement of the building, you will find the restaurant, but it has a slightly unusual layout (you'll understand when you go). The previous restaurant had a counter where I, a solo customer, would eat, but this restaurant seems to have all booth seating. A pretty female employee greeted me with "Thank you for coming" as she brought water, and I liked that greeting. I ordered the zangi set meal, and the wait time was 5-6 minutes (no waiting customers). When the zangi arrived, I was overwhelmed by its size. I hesitated for a moment on how to eat it, but then I just took a bite. The crispy sound was satisfying, and besides the taste, it was like a spice appealing to my ears. Since it was freshly fried, the hot and juicy meat juices along with the meat raging in my mouth gave a sensation of the meat wreaking havoc in my mouth. My gums got burned, and my upper jaw suffered secondary damage. The taste was excellent, like the delicious izakaya zangi, with a perfect soy sauce flavor. If you like fried chicken, you should try it at least once. I prefer a size that is just big enough to eat in one bite, always enjoying the hot and crispy juiciness. It takes 4-5 bites to eat one, and since it's hot, it takes quite some time to finish eating. With a total of 4 zangi pieces, I feel full enough. The rice was soft, which I like. The miso soup had a good flavor with a properly extracted broth. After finishing all the vegetables, my stomach was so full that I didn't feel like moving. When I settled the bill, I was told "Please come again," a nice phrase that you don't often hear, making me want to come back. By the way, a high percentage of customers here seem to choose curry. The curry comes out quickly after ordering. Also, this restaurant allows smoking during lunchtime as well as at night. It may be a joy for smokers, but no one was smoking. I would like to come back.

A lunch sign suddenly appeared in the alley behind Sapporo Station, blending into the usual scenery if not consciously noticed. However, the powerful images of lunch menu items caught my eye and piqued my appetite. It seemed like the restaurant had just opened. The location was not clear from the lunch menu sign alone. Peeking into the building, it appeared that the restaurant was located underground. I entered through a striking red curtain. The small yet beautifully stylish interior, in line with the restaurant's name, created a certain atmosphere. Among the four lunch menu options, I confidently chose the "Zangi set meal." Going back to basics, I wondered what the difference between Zangi and Karaage was. Zangi is said to originate from Kushiro, where chicken is marinated and seasoned before being fried. However, I couldn't quite distinguish between Zangi and Karaage when served. The impressive size of the freshly fried Zangi, resembling a fist, was a sight to behold. As the juices burst in my mouth and the heat made me pause mid-bite, I found myself opening my mouth to let out the heat. The portion of rice was ample, but I detected a slightly unusual smell – perhaps due to cost-cutting measures? In any case, Zangi, a local specialty, has firmly established itself as a popular menu item. However, the heavy feeling in my steps as I headed into the afternoon was a clear sign of the meal's substantial volume.

I had the all-you-can-drink option by myself! I definitely had a lot of zangi (Japanese fried chicken) by myself, but it was incredibly delicious! Thank you for the meal!
