Sunday morning routine of wandering around Chitose Airport from early in the morning... I arrived on this day a little after 8:30 am. I don't plan on watching a movie, but I will visit the movie theater. I wonder what they are showing... "Top Gun." I'd like to watch it, but I won't (laughs). I checked out the food and drink menu which had movie theater-like items such as "popcorn, soft drinks, fried chicken," etc. I placed an order with a cute young lady at the register for "Bistro Potato Cheese @300." She said, "Please wait for 4-5 minutes," and I waited in a nearby chair. The food was served in a paper cup and handed to me in a large plastic tray for watching movies, but since I wasn't going into the theater, I just took the cup. I moved to the food court to enjoy my purchase, not really sure what I had bought, but it turned out to be "hash browns with cheese flavor." It came with two toothpicks. Crispy on the outside, with a satisfying texture, a delightful cheese aroma, and just the right amount of saltiness, hot and freshly fried... this was too delicious! It's a serving for one with 4 pieces, but it's perfect for a snack or a drinking appetizer, and I could easily eat about 3 servings. Is there a similar product somewhere else? Thank you for the meal.

In December 2017, I revisited the movie theater on the 4th floor of New Chitose Airport Terminal Building. The theater used to be called "Jagapokkuru Theater," but it seems like the naming rights contract expired, and now it's called "Sora Cinema Chitose." Despite the name change, the facility remains the same, and the concession stand is unchanged as well. The last time I visited was two years ago when I watched the 7th installment of the "Star Wars" series, "The Force Awakens." This time, after two years, I watched the 8th installment, "The Last Jedi." I realized that I haven't watched any other movies in these two years, which was a bit surprising. Interestingly, the only movie series I have watched all installments of is the "Star Wars" series. This time, I bought Spicy Potatoes and Ginger Ale. The Spicy Potatoes weren't as spicy as expected, and I thought a stronger flavor would be better. The theater also has special seats with wide seating and storage space, but they are available on a first-come, first-served basis without any additional charge. If you have time, it's best to arrive early, purchase your ticket, and enjoy a relaxed movie-watching experience.

Since a movie theater was established in the airport terminal building in December 2015, I had been wanting to visit but never had the chance due to not finding a movie I wanted to watch or the timing not being right. This visit marks my first time here. The movie I watched this time was "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2D version)". The movie theater is named "Jaga Pockle Theater", which may have led some to mistake the neighboring "Calbee Showroom" as the theater's concession stand, but they are unrelated. The theater is operated by a company called "Enreisha Co., Ltd.", a subsidiary of "Hokkaido Airport Co., Ltd." which manages the airport terminal building. The amusement facilities in the terminal building, including the "New Chitose Airport Onsen", are mostly operated by the same company. The Jaga Pockle Theater itself is a small theater with 3 screens and a total of 377 seats. The concession stand offers the usual movie theater snacks like popcorn (salt, caramel, soy butter flavors), hot dogs, and pretzels. I had a medium-sized Coca-Cola, a small salted popcorn, and I also tried the fried potatoes that someone else had bought because they looked delicious. If you are a Hokkaido resident, you can become a member of the Jaga Pockle Theater for free and enjoy various discounts, so it's worth actively using it.
