The interior of the restaurant has a typical rural diner atmosphere. It seems clean. The landlady handles everything by herself, and once the dishes are ready, you have to pick them up from the counter. - Curry Rice: The curry sauce is sour. It might have tomatoes or yogurt as a hidden flavor, but it seems like there is too much of it. Honestly, it's not tasty. - Miso Ramen: The soup is light with a slight spicy kick. It has plenty of ingredients like green onions, bean sprouts, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, and jelly ear fungus. The chashu is made from pork shoulder that you can find in supermarkets. The noodles are thin and curly, nothing special. Overall, the ramen lacked more flavor, and the curry rice was just not good. However, the menu offers interesting options like "Stamina Ramen" with garlic toppings and "Ezo Deer Ramen" made with deer chashu, which are worth trying.

Today, on October 14th, I had lunch in the town of Akanko Onsen. The restaurant I originally planned to visit was closed, so I ended up at this rural-looking ramen shop. It had a countryside vibe, with self-service from getting water to cleaning up. It seemed like the place was run by an elderly man and two women in the kitchen. I ordered the "Miso Ramen (800 yen)" and went to pick it up when the lady called out, "It's ready!" The ramen looked quite appetizing. The broth was light and didn't have the typical richness of miso, but it grew on me as I ate. The slightly spicy flavor was also delicious. The bean sprouts were crunchy and the texture of the wood ear mushrooms was nice. As you get older, you start to appreciate lighter flavors more. It was a satisfying meal.

I visited Ginnrei Minshuku for the first time! It's the first shop if you go from Obihiro side. There is a ramen sign and a curtain hanging outside, but there was a sign saying "preparing" on the door. I wasn't sure if they were open or not. I decided to go in and asked what time they open. The owner said they would open soon and welcomed me in. I ordered a soy sauce ramen for 700 yen. Gradually, more people started coming in, including an office lady and an older man. The kitchen was bustling with activity. After a 10-minute wait, the office lady brought me my ramen. It seemed like she might be a staff member. The owner, an older lady, also started eating her ramen. Before that, I went outside to see a sign saying they were open. It was a unique experience having ramen in a guesthouse setting. The soy sauce ramen was a bit salty and had soft noodles with a lot of oil. It was quite a different ramen experience in a unique atmosphere.

I first came here when Lake Akanko was still called Okan, and the town was bustling with Okan. I wonder what happened to those lively Okan from back then? I hope they turned into something good, but I have a bad feeling that they might have turned into chikan. Anyway, it's almost lunchtime, and I have an old man who keeps saying he wants to eat ramen, so I'll go eat ramen with him. But that old man doesn't seem to like me much. My daughter is at a sensitive age, so if I take her with me, she won't come out of her room. "Minshuku Ginrei" seems to be the only place in Akanko that focuses on ramen. There are other places that serve ramen, but on the north side of the hot spring town, right? Or is it the west side? When I entered the restaurant, there was a large table with only one lady sleeping, and it seems like men and women are seated separately, chatting noisily. It's so loud. I sat at this table, which had about 11 seats. There are two 4-person tables connected to create two islands. One island has about 6 people. Is it a grandfather and granddaughter? A married couple? Just two people. I ordered "salt ramen" for 650 yen. The noisy lady got up and started preparing to leave. Good for her. She sat back down and continued chatting. It's a TV. This place is not non-smoking. The smoke is coming from the raised seating area. The lady who was standing and preparing has now sat down. She's even louder now. I felt like hitting her from behind. This lady is now dragging the restaurant lady into the conversation. It got even louder with one more person. I have to endure this noise for over 10 minutes before the ramen arrives. Finally, the ramen came, but it was the noisy lady's, not mine. She still hadn't eaten? Then my ramen arrived. This restaurant smells a bit. The ramen that came also smells a bit. The noodles are thin and white. I imagined it to be similar to Kushiro ramen, but I shouldn't compare them. They might get angry. It's just normal, but it's good, right? Is the seaweed roasted? The bamboo shoots have a slightly seasoned taste, but they also have a hint of refrigerator smell. The green onions are not cut, so that's good. Oh, the raised seating area is drinking. The chashu is thick and delicious. The naruto is floating in the soup, which is slightly cloudy and salty. I can't quite figure out the flavor of the broth, but it seems to be chicken-based. It's just normally delicious. The ramen was a bit smelly, thanks to the noisy lady and her smoking companion. That was lunch in Akanko.

In a guesthouse in the town of Akanko Onsen in eastern Hokkaido, there is a famous ramen shop with a homey atmosphere. I ordered the "Ezo deer ramen (salt)" for 900 yen, which was recommended as a safe choice. The noodles were thin and curly, cooked just right. The soup was slightly cloudy, rich in flavor, with a moderate amount of oil, and had the essence of Ainu leeks and deer meat, creating a harmonious taste. The deer meat chashu had a subtle iron-like taste, retaining the deliciousness of deer meat. The ramen with wild garlic that I've had in various places before was well-balanced here as a ramen dish. The service had a down-to-earth and guesthouse-like feel. Thank you for the meal. They also had Ezo deer stew on the menu at the time for 1100 yen.

It's a guesthouse, but the first floor is a dining room. They serve set meals, donburi dishes, udon, soba, ramen, and you can also drink alcohol. The menu that catches the eye is the monk garlic and deer meat. The Ezo deer ramen for 900 yen has a clear salt soup with thin curly noodles that remind you of Kushiro ramen. It is topped with chopped green onions, light-flavored menma, and plenty of monk garlic, which is in season now. The combination of ramen and monk garlic is excellent. I wonder if they will also serve it with soy sauce pickled monk garlic after the season passes? The deer meat chashu is tough and has a wild taste, with a generous amount of toppings. I was able to enjoy plenty of Ezo deer and monk garlic.
