"Komachi-en" in Kushiro is a place where I am alone. It has become difficult to earn a living no matter which town I go to, so I have added various genres to my circle of friends. I even tried searching for a butcher online, but couldn't find one. I hate wasting time, so luckily there is a Japanese market nearby. There are not many shops that are not listed, but I have definitely found one that is not listed. It's called "Komachi-en." If you stay for more than 30 minutes, you have to pay for parking, so I quickly realized that it was not listed here. It's surprisingly expensive, maybe because it's "handmade," but I bought the cheaper "Tsubu" from there. When I pointed to it and said, "I'll take this," the funny old man said, "You're too quick, let me explain!!" He's an interesting old man. After he finished explaining, I said, "That one in the middle." The old man seemed satisfied. The lady asked, "Is it for a souvenir?" and I replied, "I don't give things to people." She said, "Yeah, there's nothing to do, so just eat it yourself." The old man was always funny. The dish that came out on Sake Day was "Mefun." It's different from "Mefun." It came out as a three-piece assortment. It's like oil-stewed Tsubu. The seasoning is light, which is good. It's Kushiro, so there's no problem with the ingredients. It's soft, but still has a good texture. It's a delicious snack. It disappeared in no time.

I purchased dried kelp with herring roe and herring roe itself at the Ginza Matsuya event. Both of them were delicious.

At the horse racing venue off in spring 2017, some mysterious clouds were approaching from the west... and I could see something like curtains... Luckily, we moved under a tent just before the wind and rain came. R-san went out of his way to buy at the Hokkaido product exhibition in Shinjuku. m(__)m Engawa salted fish, sweet shrimp salted fish, salmon marinated (I think?), and mountain wasabi-infused wasabi paste. I love Engawa, and when it's salted, it tastes rather sweet. The sweet shrimp is nice and firm. This is perfect with rice! Bring me some rice! \(^o^)/ The salmon is great as a snack with alcohol... especially with the crushed clam wasabi, it's deliciousヽ(∀゚ )人( ゚∀)ノヒャッハー We didn't have time to finish everything, but thank you, R-san, m(__)m I'll definitely buy some if I see it at the product exhibition next time \(^o^)/

I visited this shop located in the Washo Market in front of Kushiro Station during my private trip to Hokkaido for gourmet food. I don't usually make osechi (New Year's feast), but I like kombu maki, so I bought it for New Year's. The combination of salmon and kombu is excellent. The kombu is soft and delicious. The sweetness is not too strong. Hokkaido is full of delicious foods such as fish, meat, and grains.

〖JR Nagoya Takashimaya〗 on the 10th floor hosted the 16th Spring Hokkaido Fair 2022, Part 2 from 3/9 (Wed) to 3/15 (Tue). I visited there. It's a seafood delicacy specialty store from Kushiro, Hokkaido. I love snacks since I was a child, so I couldn't pass by without checking it out. I tried both items, and they went perfectly with beer. The staff was friendly and explained everything clearly. I purchased: - "Engawa Shio-ko" 100g (1080 yen) - has a crunchy texture - "Kani-iri Kaisen Jan-ko" 100g (994 yen) - spicy with a concentrated umami flavor from seafood Thank you for the delicious meal!

In April 2021, during Golden Week, I went shopping at the Washo Market. I didn't have any specific items to buy, but I came to gather ideas for my food blog. There was this shop where the prices were quite high, so I had only bought souvenirs from there before without knowing the taste. This time, I decided to buy something for myself. I bought "Devil's Shio-koji," which is salted squid with crab miso, for around 1000 yen. There was also a dish called "Devil's Onigiri" with tempura bits. Essentially, it means something like "irresistible and unstoppable." When I tried it at home, it was delicious! The flavor was rich and it went well with both rice and sake. However, I couldn't help but feel that the name and appearance were a bit of a mismatch. It felt more like "Devil's Innards" to me. Either way, it was a tasty salted squid.

6/9/2020 [Regular Customer Review] This is something my wife ordered through a support campaign for the coronavirus self-restraint. I kept it frozen, but even though I thawed it a few days ago because I wanted to eat it, I haven't had a chance to eat it due to having other food to eat (^^;) I need to eat it soon. It's called Komachi-en Devil's Shio-koji, which gives the impression of a taste that will get you hooked, right? It's salted squid with crab miso. I wonder if it's worth looking forward to or not (^^;) Since I can't eat all of it at once, I transferred it to a Tupperware and had a little bit. The impression when I put it in my mouth was... sweet (-_-;) It's a bit of an artificial sweetness, probably from preservatives. I imagined it would be like this, so I'm not surprised. It's supposed to have crab miso in it, but honestly, I didn't really taste it (^^;) The squid itself was fine, with a good texture. Compared to salted squid sold in supermarkets, I think it's quite delicious. But maybe because I had high expectations from the name, the bar was set high. I'm just happy to be able to taste food from far away!! It was delicious!! Thank you for the meal♪

I purchased these items when they were being sold in the middle of Donnamnaka Tanuma in Sano City. They were all delicious, and I wanted to buy them all and take them home. At that time, I bought Mekabu Asari, Seafood Spicy Noodles, and Salted Red Salmon. All of them were exquisite. A must-visit again.
