Course Menu Review: The course meal was excellent, with each dish perfectly prepared and presented. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommended!

It was mid-February, a Friday night, so I had made a reservation for two for dinner. The restaurant opened at 6 pm, and our reservation was for 6:30 pm. When we arrived, there were no other customers yet, so the atmosphere was quiet. We started with a beer, followed by a glass of white wine and some sake. The white wine was a bit underwhelming, but still enjoyable. The sake was fresh and delicious. The course included duck liver with ponzu sauce, scallops and shimeji mushrooms, sashimi, chicken salad, fish, meat, sushi, and dessert. The duck liver was okay, the sashimi was delicious, the chicken salad had slightly warm chicken which was a bit off-putting, the fish was miso-marinated silver cod with good fat content, the meat was tender beef from Shibetsu, the sushi included tuna, scallop, and sea urchin, and the dessert was rum raisin and cassis sherbet. The servers sometimes explained the dishes, but not consistently. Overall, the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and would be good for small gatherings.

This week, I visited Kushiro after a long time. I lived here for a year during my honeymoon, but back then I didn't use Tabelog and rarely went out for drinks, so I had no idea there were such wonderful restaurants in Kushiro. My close friend from Kushiro brought me to this place. They only offer a set course menu. ★Visit Date★ April 18, 2017 (Tuesday) / Evening ★Purpose★ Date with my close friend ★Order★ Chef's course / Sparkling wine / Red wine ★Order to Serving Time★ It took about 3 hours until we finished eating. ★Food Impressions★ We started by sitting at the counter and chatting with the handsome master. We had appetizers followed by sashimi. The sashimi was delicious! The seared sashimi of mebaru had a nice firm texture that was irresistible. Then, we had mebaru with cilantro, komatsuna, and probably seasoned with nam pla. This dish was for two people, but we ended up sharing it all. The light flesh with a hint of an ethnic flavor was quite innovative. Next, we had the main dish which was beef. The presentation was beautiful. It may have been Hokkaido beef, but it wasn't as juicy as expected. The vegetables like asparagus and turnip that accompanied the dish were more delicious. The meal continued with a porridge made from the mebaru we had earlier. It had a gentle and flavorful broth, which was very tasty. Then, we were served sushi. Turns out the handsome master can also make sushi, and it was excellent. Even though we were towards the end of the meal, we couldn't stop eating the sushi. My close friend left some, but I finished it all. Lastly, we had homemade gelato and matcha. When I mentioned that I don't drink coffee, they kindly served matcha instead. The gelato was refreshing, and the matcha was a perfect way to end the meal. ★Recommendation!!★ I recommend sitting at the counter. It was such a long time since I had such a delicious and happy meal. It was also a great time catching up with my close friend over drinks. The handsome master was friendly and engaging, making me want to visit again. The price is on the higher side due to the quality of the food, so it may not be for everyday dining, but it's perfect for a special treat or a business trip meal.

I was treated to a meal by someone I am grateful to. It seems they made a reservation just one hour before the day of, and we had a course meal. It was probably an omakase course. We also had a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option for 2000 yen, so I had plenty of beer. The interior of the restaurant had a high-class feel. It's not the kind of place I would usually visit as an ordinary person, so I felt lucky this time. The main dish was beef, but it was a bit tough. The sashimi and sushi were very delicious. I tried whelk for the first time, and it was quite good. There was also some kind of whelk dish, but it had a bit of a fishy taste, so I didn't like it. If I have the chance, I would like to try a different course next time. Thank you for the meal.
