It may be rude to say unexpectedly, but it was delicious. I was used to cheap chain restaurants, so it was nostalgic and tasty. First, the appetizers were substantial and satisfying. Next, the fried foods were freshly made and delicious, with the beef tataki having a sense of freshness and a reassuring feeling of the Showa era. The seasoning, using raw garlic, was a bit impressive! Lastly, the sake served in the small dish in the photo was enjoyable, reminding me once again that sake is best enjoyed this way. I happened to come here, but if I am nearby again, I would like to visit.

Tonight, I went to a recommended local spot by a friend. It was a cozy place with a big TV and tatami mats. The private seating area had partitions for COVID-19 safety measures. The complimentary dish was a delicious udon with Ishikari hot pot flavors. The German potato dish was unique and tasty, with finely chopped potatoes, onions, and bacon cooked like okonomiyaki. The scallop butter dish was elegant with scallops and cauliflower in a tomato cream sauce. The Jamaican crab cream croquettes were flavorful and well-seasoned. The garlic butter clams with breadcrumbs were crunchy and full of flavor. I also tried the yakisoba, which was surprisingly delicious. Overall, it was a hidden gem with a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. I will definitely be back!

Near the 24 Ken subway station, my wife and second daughter went shopping and had dinner. My eldest daughter had to work, so she couldn't join us for a rare drinking session. I ended up going alone to a restaurant I had been curious about. After finishing work, I made my way to 24 Ken. I was surprised by how spacious it was inside, with sunken kotatsu seating, a counter, and tables. It seemed quite popular, with many office workers and company employees around. If a group of four came in randomly, they might not be able to get a table. I sat at the counter and ordered a highball. I also got croquettes, zangi, squid with fermented soybeans, and yakisoba. The croquette was hot and delicious, maybe it was crab cream croquette? I can't remember, but it was really good. The zangi was also hot and had a nice firm texture. I had squid with fermented soybeans for health reasons, to keep my blood flowing smoothly and prevent heart attacks. The highlight of the meal was the dark and savory yakisoba. It had a homey yet flavorful taste. Overall, it was a cozy izakaya loved by the locals. Thank you for the meal!

I am at Nijuyonken... I think this store has been here for decades, but there are no reviews. It is located just a few seconds' walk from the Nijuyonken subway station entrance, along the subway street... I entered "Ichibankan" around 5 pm. I told the lady at the hall that I am alone and sat at the counter... There were two groups of two customers before me, and the counter has about five seats, but the store is quite spacious with a TV monitor on the back wall, and a middle-aged man who seems to be the owner in the kitchen. First, I had a beer, and then ordered the simmered flounder... The taste was strong, maybe it came from the refrigerator? It would be nice if it was a little warmer... I ordered the "simmered tripe @450" and "onion slices @450". The simmered tripe... The taste was just right for me... I wish it was in the 300 yen range. Onion slices... I didn't expect such a large amount, with an egg yolk in the middle... The dressing was in a container that used to have curry roux... What do you call this? The dressing goes well with the plain sliced onions... I felt like my blood was flowing smoothly after finishing it. I had another hot sake and the total bill was about 2,000 yen. I left the store feeling satisfied. Thank you for the meal~
