Marugame Seimen, Prono, and Alpen are all located in the same area. I had some business at a workwear store and noticed two flags outside the parking lot fence - one for Medaka and one for gelato. I was surprised to see a new shop there, as I didn't think there was one before. Is it a place that sells both Medaka and gelato? I walked around the outside of the parking lot and confirmed that there was indeed a shop there. It was tucked away in a narrow alley and not very noticeable. Inside, there were several Medaka tanks, table seating, counter seating, and a gelato counter with the owner. For gelato, you first choose a main flavor and then get two additional flavors in small amounts on top. So, even with a single serving, you can enjoy three different flavors. A single serving was 350 yen, and a double was 600 yen, but following them on Instagram made the single serving only 300 yen - such a great deal! I chose strawberry as the main flavor, with chocolate and blueberry as the additional flavors. The owner also gave me a coffee flavor that was still in the testing phase. In total, I got four flavors for 300 yen. The gelato was delicious, with a refreshing taste. The coffee flavor had a bit too much bitterness, but I enjoyed it. The portion size was more than enough for the price. I forgot to take a picture of the gelato, but I will remember to do so next time. The shop has plenty of seating, and you can enjoy your gelato while watching the Medaka. It's not well-known yet, but it has the potential to become a popular spot. Thank you for the meal!

Tanaka Kikouzou is located in the back streets of Sapporo and is a great place to stop by when heading from Sapporo to Otaru. Look out for the Marugame Seimen sign and turn left to find it easily. The entrance door is set back, so it may not stand out, but you can't miss the gelato flag. Upon entering, you'll see many goldfish tanks lined up in front of you. Towards the left, you'll find the gelato showcase. The friendly and welcoming owner will greet you. On this day, they had 10 flavors of gelato including milk, yogurt, strawberry, kiwi yogurt, caramel, blueberry, hojicha, coffee, and chocolate. Sizes available are single (350 yen) and double (600 yen). If you follow the store's Instagram, you can get a 50 yen discount anytime. The flavors I tried were milk, kiwi yogurt, and chocolate. The gelato is not too sweet and very delicious. The kiwi yogurt has a refreshing acidity and sweetness, while the chocolate flavor is a bit mild. I chose the single size and received two mini gelato for tasting. The owner, who seemed to love goldfish, started explaining about them, but I had to leave before he finished as I was worried the gelato would melt. I revisited the shop with my niece and sister♪ On this day, the shop was run by the couple! Just like last time, the owner was a really nice person, so I assumed the wife would be lovely as well, and she was indeed! Bright, cheerful, and fun to be around♪ They are a really nice couple and it was heartwarming. The flavor of the day was "roasted green tea." The previous flavor, "coffee," was still popular and will be available for purchase! When choosing the main gelato, you can also select two trial flavors. Additionally, you can taste the trial gelato flavors too. However, unfortunately, my niece didn't seem to like the "roasted green tea." Nevertheless, she was happy to be able to choose another flavor she liked! Such a kind and appreciated service♪ My niece chose: Main - Strawberry, Trial - Kiwi & Blueberry & Milk. My sister chose: Main - Blueberry, Trial - Coffee & Matcha Milk. I chose: Main - Caramel, Trial - Kiwi & Strawberry. My niece happily said "Delicious!" while eating. She is quite picky about her likes and dislikes, but her preferences seem to match mine when it comes to sweets and snacks. She liked the "Kiwi" and "Blueberry" that are not often seen, as they were refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. The "Kiwi" was apparently the owner's creation and my niece was thrilled about it! My sister enjoyed the trial flavors of "roasted green tea" and "coffee"! Both had a great aroma and were delicious. I also recommend these two flavors♪ The "roasted green tea" was the wife's creation and had a rich tea flavor with a great aroma! The owner seemed not to like it much, but it was very popular among the ladies. It reminded me of the trend of "roasted green tea latte"! They are also considering adding a "black tea" flavor in the future. I'm looking forward to their drink series! The alcohol series also caught my interest♪ It's exciting to see what they come up with next! The "matcha milk" I had tried before was a bit light... suitable for kids, but adults might prefer a stronger flavor! The fruity flavors are recommended for those who like a refreshing taste. The gelato is a hit among kids and those who come to see the goldfish! As expected, it's very popular among families with children!
