It's deep inside, first visit to "Saito-san chi!" On the way to "Ootomi" I saw lights even further back, and it caught my attention. When I visited for the first time, I found out that from now until August 31st, beer is half off from 6pm to 8pm! Such a great deal to come at this time (^-^) There were various dishes, but my favorite was the hamburger, and it was stewed! It's not something you often find at izakayas. When you open the lid, it's simmering and there are even two of them, with cheese on top. The best. The owner and his wife were very friendly and good at chatting. I ended up staying for a long time and drinking a lot. I want to visit this place again.

One way, 115 km, enjoying the scenery to arrive in Otaru♡ As I entered the city, it was full of tourists, truly romantic Otaru. My heart was dancing as well. Passing through the lively Sakaimachi Street, I checked into the hotel, which is about a 5-minute walk from Saito-san's place. Nearby, there is the famous Shin Kuraya Hanazono Honten for dumplings and the Otaru Main Store for Western sweets. Being a sweets lover, my excitement was high. And now, onto the main topic - Saito-san's place. Despite getting lost, once inside, I was warmly welcomed by the lovely couple. Although I'm not good with alcohol, I tried the recommended wine ball Niagara by the wife. It had a cool taste and I was fine with it. My friend enjoyed the beer, saying it was delicious. We had sashimi, octopus, herring, and homemade pickled mackerel - all very delicious. The conversation with Saito-san was so enjoyable that time flew by quickly. Otaru, which I love so much, is truly a place where seeing is believing, and by stepping outside, you can make new discoveries. It was a wonderful encounter where I could enjoy delicious food.

After eating a little sushi, I wanted to eat and drink a little more, so I walked along the sushi street and found a cozy restaurant. Unlike the seafood and local cuisine restaurants catering to tourists, this place had a bright, homely atmosphere where you could enjoy a variety of dishes and drinks. The owner, who was born and raised in Otaru, was knowledgeable about local matters and shared various insider stories with us. We tried the octopus tempura, sautéed octopus, and stir-fried mussels, all of which were delicious. The octopus tempura was especially outstanding, showcasing the deliciousness and freshness of the local octopus (probably). The restaurant had a group of four regulars and a few women enjoying a girls' night out, all moderately tipsy, enjoying delicious food and chatting. I would love to visit this place again if it were nearby. My only regret is not being able to order the paripaccio.
