I arrived at Belge One for a welcome party for a new boss. The place was fully booked on Friday, so we chose Thursday instead. Even on Thursday, the restaurant was bustling with customers. We were greeted warmly and escorted to our seats on the second floor. Until the end of April, you can choose between a men's party or a women's party. The men's party offers larger portions of food, while the women's party includes a 3-hour all-you-can-drink option with fresh fruit cocktails and sparkling wine. This time, we went with all women, but we chose the men's party because we didn't think we could sit for 3 hours. We started with potato salad and salmon carpaccio. The sauce on the potato salad was delicious, but we couldn't quite figure out what it was. The salmon was also tasty, but the potato salad left a lasting impression. It was so good we couldn't stop eating it. The chopstick rest was made of cork, adding a stylish touch to the place. The atmosphere of the restaurant seems more geared towards college students or young couples in their twenties. It might not be the best place for older folks, but I've always wanted to try it. Next, we had a platter of fried foods, including fried chicken, rice cakes, french fries, and fried cheese. The fried chicken had a wonderful ginger aroma and was freshly fried. The cheese was deliciously gooey inside. The rice cakes were particularly flavorful with the sweet and savory sauce. They were so plump they almost looked like fried bread. Hokkaido locals sure know how to make tasty dishes at home. We also had a Margherita pizza, which had a crispy and tough crust that was difficult to cut. The cheese was very tasty, but we weren't sure what kind it was. We also tried the duck and mushroom ajillo, which had a delightful garlic aroma. The mushrooms were more delicious than the duck meat. We even tried putting them on top of the bread, which was a delicious combination. We were already quite full at this point. The pasta with mushrooms in a Japanese-style butter sauce was fragrant and light. The Genovese pasta was the most delicious dish of the day. It was a bit salty but incredibly tasty. The basil flavor was rich, and the subtle cheese aftertaste was fantastic. We couldn't help but exclaim how delicious it was in front of the staff. They kindly shared the recipe with us, which included basil, walnuts, cheese, and extra virgin olive oil. Unfortunately, the nearby supermarket didn't have basil in stock, so we couldn't recreate the dish. The taste was truly unique to the restaurant. Lastly, we had a strawberry mousse dessert, which was just the right size. The drink selection was extensive, mainly consisting of cocktails. The staff was excellent, and we felt comfortable asking for recommendations. Overall, the service was top-notch, and we had a pleasant dining experience. We received a thank-you card from the restaurant afterward, which was a nice touch. We would definitely visit again in the future.
