Opened on August 11, 2023, a dorayaki shop in Otaru City, adjacent to Teine Ward. The shop, called Kobacha, specializes in creative Japanese sweets such as dorayaki, dango, and warabimochi. It is located along Route 5, about 760m from the T-junction with Hoshioji Street towards Otaru. It is a little less than a 10-minute walk from Hoshimi Station.Visited for the first time around noon on August 25, 2023, to eat curry at STAR. I was determined to buy sushi this year for sure, passing by Hirose Shoten and noticing a new building with banners for dorayaki and warabimochi. I wondered when it opened as I entered the store. The dorayaki looked delicious, but I didn't feel like carrying refrigerated products in this scorching heat for over 30km on my bike. I bought Mitarashi dango and anko instead and enjoyed them at home six hours later. The dango was surprisingly soft, almost too soft. It seemed like it was baked to a crispy surface, but the flavor of the dango itself was mild, and the topping didn't quite match the description on the website. Well, it's just not my preference, haha.

It was my first visit. Near Zenibako, I caught a glimpse of a lovely sign and couldn't help but stop by. It turns out the shop had just opened last week. It used to be in a different location, but now it's a shop selling dorayaki and dango. The interior of the shop is cute, and I felt like buying a lot of things... I was told not to buy too much by my companion, so I managed to restrain myself. The dango was very large, and the dorayaki looked amazing. The taste was also delicious. I recommend the dorayaki!

Sushi street's traditional Japanese confectionery shop, Kohane Tea, has relocated near the border with Sapporo. It's my favorite Japanese confectionery shop. The location is along National Route 5, a renovated house slightly towards Otaru from Pasco and STAR. I stopped by after work, but the dorayaki was sold out. I love their pancake-like dorayaki the most, but it couldn't be helped that it was sold out. They had mitarashi dango, warabimochi, and kinpinto available. I bought 3 mitarashi dango and a small warabimochi. Their dango is a chubby jumbo size with a crispy exterior, made to order. It's fluffy and just the right amount of sweetness, really delicious. I will definitely go back. Thank you for the meal.
