The plane arrived safely at New Chitose Airport, and I was able to smoothly move to Sapporo. After dropping off my luggage at the hotel, I headed to this restaurant that I had checked in advance. As a fan of soup curry, I wanted to visit this famous restaurant in Sapporo. It opens at 11 am, and I arrived around 10 minutes past that, but it was already showing "full." Well, I had some time so I decided to wait. Eventually, a staff member came out and said that there were seats available at the counter, so I took it. When I sat down, I was served water and a menu, and I placed my order. I chose the stewed hamburger as my main dish, with a rich soup. I added natto as a topping, selected level 3 spiciness (which includes 5 chopped pickles), opted for extra rice, and added a Heartland beer, all for 2370 yen. Having a beer does make the price go up a bit. Although I was told it would take about 30 minutes, the food arrived in about 20 minutes. The hamburger was of decent size, with plenty of vegetables and the added natto topping. The rice seemed to be turmeric rice, and it was indeed a generous portion. I started eating right away. The soup had a nice level of spiciness and richness. When mixed with the rice, it tasted good. The vegetables were mainly lightly fried, so they were hot. The hamburger was slightly soft, easily cut with a spoon, and had a texture that melted in the mouth. Overall, I could see why this place is popular. However, as I continued to eat, I felt like this soup curry was different from what I had experienced before? I can't quite put my finger on it, but there was something lingering in the aftertaste. Of course, I finished the whole meal, but that mystery stayed with me. I might visit another soup curry restaurant in the future to compare, as I am curious. Thank you for the meal.
