Located about a 2-minute walk from Kita 34-jo Station on the Sapporo Municipal Subway Namboku Line, this restaurant is situated along Nishi 5-chome Tarukawa Street. I visited this place on a certain weekday night. It was snowing heavily outside, so my umbrella and coat were wet, but the owner kindly placed them near the stove for me. Since there were no other customers, I sat at the counter where I had the freedom to choose my seat. I was served an appetizer, which is rare for a sushi restaurant. I decided to have a beer (600 yen) to drink. I ordered a single variety of nigiri sushi (around 3000 yen) for this day. Eating sushi at the counter allows for enjoyable conversations with the owner, and I also received some valuable advice from the experienced owner. The sushi was incredibly delicious and fresh. In addition to the sushi, I also enjoyed a homemade cucumber appetizer made by the owner, which paired well with the alcohol and was delicious. I look forward to visiting again to meet the friendly owner. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I stretched my legs a bit and went to the sushi restaurant near Asao that I had been curious about from the car window. Since there were no other customers, I had a luxurious time chatting with the chef at the counter. The sashimi was very extravagant, and if it were in Susukino or Maruyama, it would have been quite expensive, but here it was reasonably priced. I ordered a few pieces of sushi, including scallops, and returned home slightly tipsy. It's a great sushi restaurant.

This is a shop that I don't really want to tell people about. It is mostly filled with regular customers who know what they're doing, but even first-timers will be treated kindly by the experienced chef. I think the prices would be more than three times higher in Tokyo. The food is just delicious and reasonably priced. Depending on the season and timing, they may serve some very rare and delicious items. It may be a bit intimidating at first, but it's worth mustering up the courage to go. I do have a slight feeling of not wanting it to be more well-known, but I think even young people will be treated kindly.

Sushi restaurant Shida is a 5-minute walk from Subway Kitaku 34-jo Station. They are only open for dinner until 11:00 PM and do not serve lunch. I cannot comment on their alcohol selection as I visited by car after work. The veteran chef, who has been running the sushi restaurant since the 1980s, is friendly and runs the place with his cheerful wife. The pickled ginger served after the sushi was delicious, made in-house with a crunchy texture and a spicy kick. The wasabi was also well-balanced, not overpowering, and complemented the sushi well. The rice was at room temperature, creating a harmonious balance with the toppings. Each piece of sushi was generously sized and served in pairs. The scallop, toro, shrimp (with eggs), salmon, surf clam, octopus, and sea urchin were all fresh and delicious, showcasing the quality of the ingredients. The scallop was sweet and tender, the toro melted in the mouth, the shrimp had a delightful crunch, and the sea urchin was rich and flavorful. The restaurant's interior has a nostalgic Showa era ambiance, with a clean and cozy atmosphere. The counter seats 7, and there are two tables for four, providing a comfortable dining experience. Overall, Shida is a local gem that reminds me of Sushi Kin in Miyanomori. Looking forward to my next visit to enjoy a drink and the cozy atmosphere.

Across the street from Hokkaido University, there is a small, unassuming sushi restaurant that caught my attention. Finally, I mustered up the courage to visit. My husband and I decided to stop by for some sushi on the weekend. The restaurant was small with a counter on the right and tables on the left. We were seated at the counter and enjoyed a quiet, private dining experience. We ordered beer and were served a delicious simmered fuki as a starter. The owner recommended various dishes, including hoya, which we enjoyed. We also tried a local sake called Shimeharitsuru Tsuki Honjozo. The owner recommended different sushi options based on the day's catch, and we opted for an omakase selection. The quality of the fish was excellent, especially the Engawa and Uni. The owner and his wife were friendly and engaging, making our dining experience enjoyable. I was impressed by the restaurant's dedication to serving fresh and delicious sushi. We ended up having a great time, enjoying three rounds of drinks and delicious sushi. We will definitely be back to this hidden gem of a restaurant.
