Today is the first day of my 4-day weekend~♪ After reading many reviews, I got hungry! Did you have Maruchan yakisoba bento for breakfast? Maybe working overtime too much? My left foot is in excruciating pain (laughs). Going shopping for the year-end with my second daughter! The three of us are going to go to Aeon, which seems to be cheap. It's Customer Appreciation Day, right? So, lunchtime! My daughter wants to eat meat. We usually have sukiyaki for New Year's, but today we're going to Big Boy~♪ Arrived at the restaurant and there was only one group of customers ahead of us. The ramen shop on the way had a long line! The new ramen shop had a waiting line for the parking lot, but it was empty inside. We ordered: I had black beef hamburger & cut steak for 1490 yen + tax with C set = salad bar, soup bar, rice bar, curry bar for an additional 490 yen + tax. My wife had Straciatella and avocado hamburger omelette rice for 1190 yen + tax with B set = salad bar, soup bar. My daughter had aged cut steak 140g for 1090 yen + tax. After the meal, it was delicious, but why was the hamburger so... mushy? It should have been more meaty! We both had the same impression. Postscript: The restaurant was clean and the service was good. The soup was hot and delicious. The salad bar had a variety of options. Thank you for the meal. We will definitely come back again!

I'm not a big fan of family restaurants, but my opinion has changed completely since the pandemic. I can't relax and enjoy my meal when there are a lot of people around. This restaurant has wide spacing between tables, so you can feel at ease. Last time, I had the hand-kneaded juicy meat cutlet made with handmade hamburger meat, and it was really delicious, so this time I tried the handcrafted chicken cutlet made with chicken thigh meat. It has a very bold and rough bread crumb coating, which was a bit surprising. The meat has a strong flavor, maybe they use the same seasoning as for the sauté. It was tasty, but I preferred the meat cutlet. I tried both the curry bar and the soup bar. The curry was delicious and you can eat a lot without getting tired of it, and I was happy to see Fukujinzuke (pickles) available. And it's all you can eat, so I left feeling full. Today's soups were Chinese-style and corn soup, both with just the right amount of flavor and very tasty. Overall, they have delicious menu items like the large hamburger and the juicy meat cutlet made with hand-kneaded hamburger meat, and you can leave feeling satisfied, so I think it's a good restaurant. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Today is the last day of my two-day weekend! I woke up at 4 am and looked outside, it seems like it's been raining a bit. I checked out a lot of reviews on Tabelog and saw many photos posted by everyone. I tried to like the photos, but they wouldn't save. I tried restarting my device, but no luck! Some photos saved, but some didn't. It's bothering me! Today is the 15th! I haven't received my pension yet, but there's a 5% off at Aeon and a big drugstore from Hokkaido for elderly people! Shopping time with my wife! We went shopping, but the car wouldn't stop because the road was slippery! However, the traffic was moving at 30 km/h. How about that? Pension is paid in even months! (Is that normal?) Sorry for the big digression! Time for lunch! I'm thinking of trying the famous spring water ramen! The road to the outskirts is heavily congested! I changed my order to meat! My wife asked if it's okay, and I said, "Sure, let's go to Big Boy!" Arrived at Big Boy after 3 years! The entrance was piled with snow, it's narrow! It's still around 11:30 am, but it's crowded! Even in these times! We entered, and the staff, a busy young lady, greeted us perfectly! Thank you for your hard work! I ordered the Lunch Triple Grill for 980 yen (excluding tax) because it's been 3 years! My wife ordered the daily lunch with handmade hamburger and beef croquette for 580 yen (excluding tax)! The visual: My hamburger is 100g, chicken 100g, and cut steak 60g - looks delicious! My wife's meal looks small, but that's the price! After eating: While waiting for our order, we had corn soup and curry rice at the soup bar. We chose turmeric rice instead of white rice. The curry was mild but delicious! How about you, do you prefer spicy spices? The soup was not instant and tasty! My wife said, "The hamburger is juicy! It used to be dry, right?" I replied, "The meat juice is coming out!" The grilled chicken was cooked perfectly, crispy and delicious! The cut steak was decent for the price! Note: Due to COVID-19 measures, the booth seats are spaced out. The buffet area requires wearing rubber gloves. Overall, we had a satisfying and affordable lunch today! It's not recommended to everyone in these times, right?

I went with an acquaintance, a bald old man. They have a weekday limited menu which includes rice, curry, salad bar, soup bar, and drink bar, starting from around 900 yen with hamburger options. I, being bourgeois, went for the most expensive 1300 yen set with cut steak and hamburger. The salad bar service was slow and they were out of corn soup, turmeric rice for curry, and pickles. The salad bar had a decent selection of leafy greens, with my personal favorites being edamame and okra. Those who quickly eat curry here are amateurs and fill up too fast. The cut steak and hamburger were well-cooked but served on hot plates, which was a bit excessive. The curry had few ingredients but was surprisingly flavorful. The dessert section of the salad bar had apple jelly, almond jelly, coffee jelly, and pineapple, offering a good variety of sweetness. This place is good for those craving hearty meat dishes like the large hamburger steak or for times when vegetables are scarce and you want to load up at the salad bar.

I happened to go out for a meal and found out it was Mother's Day, so this steak was on sale and it was incredibly delicious and tender. The parfait was also half price with a loyalty card, making it even more affordable. Both my stomach and wallet were satisfied. Maybe there will be a big event for Father's Day too.

I went to Big Boy for a meal and decided to try the Double Ohmori Hamburg for the first time. The staff cut the hamburger in half in front of me after only cooking the surface, and set a hot plate in front of me. They said I could cook it to my liking, but the meat ended up sticking to the hot plate and I couldn't cook it well. The meat had a good texture but was a bit dry. It was a bit disappointing for a hamburger restaurant.

In the past, it used to be Victoria, but now it's Big Boy! I really like the drama "THE3 people" that is set in Big Boy and often rented it to watch (laughs). On a holiday night, my husband fell asleep from the evening and there was no sign of him waking up, so I wondered if I should just sleep until morning? Do I not need dinner? But then he woke up around 9 pm... He said he was hungry, so I told him that I hadn't made anything because I didn't know if he would wake up, and if I were to cook now, it would be this or that. So we ended up deciding to order delivery or eat out. It was already late and we wanted something quick and easy, and also wanted to eat vegetables, so we decided to go to a place nearby that was open late. There were about 5 couples visiting close to 10 pm. There were 2 more couples after us. My husband had the cut steak buffet set (salad bar, soup bar, rice, curry) and I had the garlic chicken steak buffet set. When there's no work, you can eat things with strong smells without worrying about the day of the week, right? (laughs) When I was in high school, I used to hang out with friends at Victoria and stay for a long time at the salad bar and drink bar, my husband said. My husband once had to ask for more rice so many times that the staff told him they were out of rice, he said. We chatted about the old days while eating salad and soup. I used to love the corn soup here, but when I tried it now, it was not as good (laughs). There were plenty of salad options. The freshness was decent. There were about 5 types of dressings, I think. My husband said they used to have a shiso dressing, but it's not there anymore!! The waiter seemed to be the only one handling the whole place, and he was quite busy moving around. There were no chopsticks at the salad bar, and even when we rang the bell, he couldn't come right away, so we apologized many times, but it couldn't be helped as he seemed busy, and we felt sorry for him. After about 10 minutes, the meat arrived. The steak looked tough and my husband said it was indeed tough. The chicken steak came with onion sauce, but the chicken itself was heavily seasoned with salt and pepper, so it was quite salty, and I didn't use the sauce at all. Since I hadn't eaten rice, I had a small amount of curry after eating the meat. You could choose between white rice and saffron rice, so I chose saffron rice. The curry was a sweet type that even children could eat, right? It was served with chili powder as well. For dessert, I had almond jelly at the dessert section of the salad bar. It was a soft and jiggly type, a common type found in buffets. Overall, the taste was just okay, I guess (・_・; However, the salad bar is appreciated by those who like vegetables, and the fact that they are open until 2 am is helpful in such situations, so I would use it again if I have the chance. I got too sleepy in the middle and it became too much of a hassle to take photos, so I didn't take any of the exterior or the salad bar area. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the Big Boy Fukuko store. Even though it used to be called Victoria, it has been renamed to Big Boy. I wondered why, even though they are in the same group. I had a midnight steak here (lol). I happened to visit during the Setsubun event, so I ordered the limited menu available on February 2nd and 3rd. It was a 1-pound sirloin steak with a buffet set. While waiting, I enjoyed the salad bar and curry buffet, and the steak arrived rare. The sirloin was tender and had a satisfying texture, and it was even more delicious than I expected. For dessert, vanilla ice cream and sakura mochi were included. The sakura mochi was delicious after a long time. ^ ^

Today's lunch was all about meat - my wife, second daughter, and I went to "Big Boy Fukuko Store"! We arrived 5 minutes before the 11 am opening, and the parking lot was already full with 10 cars. Surprisingly, no one was inside their cars. We entered the restaurant hesitantly, but were greeted warmly and told that they open at 11 am, so we should order at that time. How kind of them to let us wait inside even before opening! I've been coming here for lunch since it was "Victoria Station", but today was the first time in six months. My wife noticed that the menu had changed again. I ordered the "Hamburger & Cut Steak" for 1099 yen plus tax, which came with soup bar, curry, and rice. My wife chose the "Hamburger & Grated Pork" for 649 yen plus tax, and my daughter opted for the "Cut Steak & Grated Pork with Black Vinegar Chicken" for 999 yen plus tax. The toppings were the same for all of us. The soup bar had Chinese soup and corn soup today. I got lucky with the Chinese soup, while my wife and daughter were disappointed to find corn soup instead of minestrone. The soups were delicious, but I noticed that the soup cups were the smallest compared to other places. As for the food, the cut steak was tender and tasty, and the hamburger, although made with ground meat and filler, was surprisingly good. You can choose between saffron and white rice for the curry, and I enjoyed the saffron option. The curry had sweet potatoes, carrots, and ground meat, and you could choose the level of spiciness - I found it just right, but my wife and daughter passed on it. We were seated in the smoking section this time. The smoke wasn't as bad as the elderly ladies' conversation, but I don't smoke in restaurants anyway. I'd love to come back here again!

I had the daily lunch special and the Ootawara hamburger. The sauce for the chicken in the daily special was a demi, but the chicken itself was bland with just salt and pepper. It tasted better when I poured the onion sauce from the hamburger on it. The soup bar, rice, and curry were all-you-can-eat, which was great! There were many men taking a break from work at the restaurant.

This is probably my 4th or 5th time visiting this restaurant. It's been a few years since I last came. Wasn't this place called Victoria Station before? It's the same group company, with almost the same type of cuisine, but maybe this is my first time visiting as a Big Boy. I knew that there were restaurants with the same type of cuisine under the Big Boy name in mainland Japan, but why use the Big Boy name specifically in Hokkaido? I think Victoria Station would have been more popular in Hokkaido... (but that's just my opinion). Actually, I came here thinking of having lunch at the nearby conveyor belt sushi restaurant Triton. I knew that Triton was moving to the new building across the street, but I didn't know when. Without thinking too much, I happened to come here just in time for the new location to open tomorrow. So, I ended up dining at this nearby restaurant. I ordered the hamburger for lunch. Rice, soup, and curry are all you can eat. The highlight here is definitely the salad bar! The fruit dessert was also a nice touch. I'll come back again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal!

▼Location▼ Located along the Miyano Mori Kita 24-jo Street. It is 400m north from the intersection with Naeho Street, on the right side. ▼About the Restaurant▼ Big Boy is a restaurant originally founded as part of the Daiei group. It expanded nationwide and absorbed other chains like Victoria. In 2002, due to Daiei's financial troubles, it came under the umbrella of Zensho, where it remains today. This Fukuko branch was opened as a converted store from the same group's Victoria. ▼Menu▼ They offer various items including the famous Ootawara Hamburger and Sirloin Steak. For more details, please check their website. ▼Food Ordered▼ ▽Cut Steak 745 yen▽ (December 2015) Cut steak served with soup bar and rice & curry set. The 5 slices of meat were tender and had a good texture. The sauce was a refreshing Japanese-style grated radish. The curry, although not shown in the image, was average with a bit less ingredients. The free refills on rice and curry were a nice touch. ▼Impressions▼ (December 2015) Originally under Daiei and now part of Zensho, Big Boy is a chain restaurant known for its meat dishes. Victoria, which is also under the same group, offers similar menus. I used to visit Big Boy occasionally when I lived in Osaka. This visit to Big Boy was a long time coming, and the menu was as expected. I opted for the simple Cut Steak, a familiar choice from Victoria. The free refills on curry, soup, and rice were a nice service. As of now, this Fukuko branch doesn't offer anything unique as a Big Boy, but I'm curious about its future direction.

Around 12:30 in the afternoon on September 29, 2014, I decided to enjoy a leisurely lunch with some drinks at Big Boy. I usually come here when I feel like eating a lot of salad, but today I wanted to have some beer in the afternoon. Originally, I planned to have some drinks and food at Areru, but it was too crowded, so I ended up coming here instead. I sat at a spacious table and ordered a beer along with a sunny-side-up hamburger, salad, soup, and the drink bar. I also wanted to try the Angus beef steak, but maybe next time. The beer I ordered was Asahi Super Dry, but the cleanliness of the beer mug was poor with too many bubbles. It seems like they wash it in the dishwasher along with the plates, which is a shame. The taste and temperature of the beer were fine, but the condition of the mug was disappointing. I enjoyed some salad from the salad bar as an appetizer while waiting for my hamburger, which turned out to be smaller than expected since it was a lunch portion. I ordered another beer and seasoned the potatoes and sunny-side-up egg with salt to enjoy with my drink. After finishing the soup, salad, and rice, I was full but still managed to have two helpings of the curry rice from the all-you-can-eat option. I leisurely read a book while sipping on three cups of coffee from the drink bar. It was a satisfying lunch experience, and now I'm ready to go home and rest before going out for drinks with my girlfriend in the evening. The total cost for one person was a little over 2000 yen, and I found out that beer is half off on Fridays, although unfortunately, today is Monday.

After finishing work, I went to a restaurant late at night with my colleagues. It had been a while since I had steak! I ordered a 180g sirloin with rice and soup bar, with soy sauce on the side. My colleague also ordered the same menu with onion sauce. A friendly waitress brought our dishes with a smile, and her service was great! The sirloin was surprisingly good, especially with the soy sauce. Maybe it tasted even better because it had been a while since I last had steak. It was cooked just right, medium rare, and the flavor of the meat was delicious. The price was reasonable too. The minestrone soup at the soup bar has always been a favorite of mine, and I had a lot of it this time too. It was satisfying. Due to my work, I often have late-night meals. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come back. I also had dessert, but I forgot the name.

I had the "Ootawara Hamburger" here. It was firm and juicy with a good amount of meat juice. I also liked the potatoes. I think this place used to be Victoria before? It's my first time at a Big Boy, so I was a little nervous (laughs). They have a curry bar and a salad bar. The curry was just okay. I wish the salad was a bit tastier. The soup bar had the classic corn soup, which made me somewhat satisfied. But what does it mean by "completely non-smoking"? Is this the norm nowadays?

I visited for lunch on Saturday and ordered the daily lunch special with a salad bar. The salad bar had a good variety of fresh options. Many family restaurants have issues with the freshness of their salad bars, but this one was okay. The soup bar had corn soup and seaweed soup. The corn soup was a bit sweet. Rice and curry were all-you-can-eat, so it was a good value. The curry was from a retort pouch, which was a bit disappointing. The hamburger steak exceeded my expectations with its meaty flavor. I tried it with the curry and it was delicious.
