I bought a one-day train ticket and walked with my friend. This place, right after getting off the train, is also recommended. My friend likes buttercream roll cakes. The lady here is always kind, and the roll cakes are easy to buy as souvenirs because they are sometimes pre-cut. I bought a half-size roll cake, some bread for tomorrow, and a delicious-looking pretzel. The pretzel has a rustic flavor with a great buttery taste that lasts a long time. While there may be other places that have tastier roll cakes, this place is overall very good.

Located near Horikawa-cho tram stop in Hakodate, this bakery and cake shop offers a wide variety of items. I visited on a weekday afternoon at the end of September. I was pleasantly surprised by the range of products available and ended up buying several breads and pastries after much deliberation. One standout was the "Kombu Bread," made with salted kelp and walnuts. It was unusual but the flavors worked well together and left a lasting impression. Among the pastries, the madeleines stood out with their rich, deep sweetness. Thank you for the delicious treats.

This is Laurie Suehiro-ya in Nakajima-cho, Hakodate City. It is located along the main street, so I stopped by on a whim. Each bread costs 100 yen to 100 yen, which is a reasonable price considering the recent rise in the cost of wheat flour. I purchased the Edamame and Cheese Punch Chocolate Corone. The dough was soft and chewy. It had a gentle sweetness and was delicious.

This is a bakery and cake shop located along the streetcar line with a historical feel. It seems they do not have a parking lot. I was intrigued by their pudding featured in a blue post and decided to purchase it. It was priced at 160 yen, quite affordable. The pudding was firm and had a nostalgic taste, which I found quite delicious.

I also need to introduce this place in Hakodate. I found this shop on a local information program's blog. I've been living here for quite a while, but I didn't notice it. The building itself has a sense of history and may not stand out much. Inside the shop, you can find bread and cakes that are unique to Hakodate. As you can see in the pictures, the cakes have a decent volume, including layers of whipped cream, and the prices are reasonable. The taste of the whipped cream is also good, and personally, I think it's satisfying. As shown in meemeemee's pictures, the ingredients used are pure and free of additives, so you can eat them with peace of mind.

Today I came to Hakodate for work, and I finished my work in the morning. Since I rarely have the opportunity to come to Hakodate on weekdays, I stopped by Nakajima Renbai and also visited Laurel Suehiro-ya, which is closed on Sundays. The location of the shops is easy to find, right in front of Horikawa-cho tram stop. The inside of the shop is new and clean. Most of the cakes are priced at 300 yen or less, so I chose four different kinds. The chocolate cake I had was not too sweet, with a gentle flavor of cocoa and a creamy chocolate flavor. The New York cheesecake tart was delicious, with a rich cheesecake on top and a refreshing cheesecake cream. The Castella cake slices and bread looked delicious at affordable prices, so I would like to come back again.

There is a bakery that feels like it has been around for a long time. I had no idea about it until recently, even though I passed by it on my bicycle. It seems that if you don't recognize something, you don't see it after all. Setting that aside, a kind woman greeted me as soon as I entered. She seemed older than me. Her customer service made me feel relieved. It was around 4 o'clock, but the cream donuts I was looking for were still available. I also bought a potato bread, and my shopping for the day was done. It only cost me 180 yen, which was wallet-friendly. I ate the bread the next morning. Since it was a donut, I regretted feeling a bit heavy afterwards. However, the cream-filled cream donut was surprisingly delicious for 80 yen! The potato bread was also delicious when I warmed it up in the oven. The potatoes were large, and it didn't feel like it was only 100 yen. I definitely want to revisit this kind bakery. Visit on March 28, 2013.
