The other day, I saw a review of the Katsu Curry at Marukatsutei in Toyotomi Town by my respected reviewer, Dekoyan. It made me suddenly crave Katsu Curry. But Toyotomi Town is quite far, so I started looking for a place nearby to satisfy my craving. Then, I saw a review of the Katsu Curry at Katsuya Sapporo Kita 23-jo by another respected reviewer, Higashiyama. I thought, "This is it!" and came here right away. I sat at the counter and ordered the Katsu Curry (Ume). The freshly fried Katsu was crispy and delicious. The curry, which seemed to lack solid ingredients, had a unique retort curry flavor, possibly due to the use of fat spread. The curry was spicy and salty, but with the hint of retort curry flavor from the fat spread. The cabbage on top of the rice was a bit of a hindrance, but it mixed well when eaten together with the curry. The kitchen here has made efforts for customers to watch their food being prepared, with attention to detail in every corner. The person in charge of plating is like the leader of the kitchen, and the fryer is a specialist in their craft. Overall, my craving for Katsu Curry has been satisfied, and I enjoyed observing the operations at Katsuya. I will definitely come back here for more tonkatsu in the future.

Office workers have limited options for lunch, so for dinner on a weekday, I went to Katsuya. I arrived at 7:50 pm and there were 4 groups of 6 customers already there, with 2 groups of 3 customers arriving after me. There were 6 staff members, 2 male and 4 female. I ordered the Rosukatsu and Karaage set for 880 yen. Since I was driving, I couldn't order beer. The food arrived in about 5 minutes. The Karaage was even better than the katsu. I would prefer the katsu to be sliced a bit thinner. Overall, it was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

The limited edition Ra-yu Negi Katsu Don from Katsuya. This is it! The best cost performance! It's great to go to a tonkatsu restaurant, but eating at Katsuya is not bad at all! It's actually good! There are also other side dishes like fried horse mackerel, so I'll try those next time. Thank you for the meal!

Negi Negi Ra-yu Pork Cutlet Bowl (Ume Plum) for 759 yen (tax included) is a limited-time dish available from August 18, 2023 (Friday). The Ume Plum option I ordered comes with an 80g pork cutlet, and there is also a 120g bamboo shoot option for 924 yen (tax included). The dish features green onions on top of the cutlet and on the rice. In my personal opinion, I felt that the balance of green onions, chili oil, and bonito flakes could have been better. Additionally, I also ordered two items from the a la carte menu. These were a Potato Croquette for 99 yen (tax included) and a Fried Horse Mackerel for 165 yen (tax included). The croquette had a spicy kick from black pepper, while the fried horse mackerel tasted great with the tonkatsu sauce from the restaurant.

I was doing odd jobs from the morning, going back and forth between the garden and the Joyful Ake. It was already past noon, but I had forgotten to buy something, so I decided to go to a certain ramen shop on the way. However, the parking lot was full. So, I headed to Joyful, and saw a "Katsuya" sign... I had never been in there before. The parking lot was almost full here too. And there was only one seat available inside. It must be the busy Obon season. I was unsure what to order, but the smell of the sauce on the pork cutlet bowl the person next to me was eating caught my attention, so I ended up ordering the same. I didn't pay much attention to the operation, but it took a while for the food to come out, so maybe they fry it after you order. It had been years since I had eaten a pork cutlet bowl with sauce, so it was a taste of nostalgia. There is also a Katsuya next to my workplace in Noboribetsu, so I think I'll go there occasionally.

During the Bon holiday in the middle of summer in Sapporo, I was worried that some restaurants might be closed for the holiday. However, I found a place that was still open and not too crowded. I ordered the pork cutlet set meal, which was on sale for 627 yen including tax (normally 792 yen). The pork cutlet was thick and juicy, and the rice and miso soup were also delicious. Overall, it was a great meal at a reasonable price. By the time I finished eating, the restaurant had filled up with customers.

When I went in the evening, it was extremely crowded! However, there were about an equal number of people dining in and getting takeout, so the seats were not completely filled and I was able to sit at the counter safely. The "Katsudon (Bamboo)" was on sale for a limited time, with a discount of 150 yen - so it cost 594 yen including tax. I was so happy! The manager-like person, an older sister, and an older brother, about 4-5 people working efficiently. They were so busy! The quick and efficient movement was impressive! They were so busy attending to the customers who had ordered before me, that I missed being called a few times (I'm not shy at all, haha), but they eventually noticed me! The person who seemed like the manager came over and apologized for the delay, but I wasn't bothered at all - maybe they sensed it with their intense gaze! Haha. The cold tea was a nice touch! They offered it to me about 3 times, as if they thought I would chug it all down in a short period of time! Haha, but I appreciate the thoughtfulness. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal! Bye bye!

Today, I went out with my junior and had a long-awaited lunch at Katsuya, which offers great value for money. It was just before the lunch rush, so we were able to be seated without waiting. When I looked at the menu at Katsuya, I felt a strange rush of adrenaline, as is usually the case when I visit a meat-focused restaurant. Today, I felt like having miso soup, which I don't usually drink, so I ordered the pork miso soup set (with loin). It's truly amazing that they can offer such high-quality tonkatsu at this price. The miso soup was delicious, with tender daikon and carrots soaked in the flavorful broth of pork and miso. It was so tasty that just the miso soup with rice and pickles could make a satisfying meal. It was a long time since I had such a delicious tonkatsu set meal.

I feel like the taste of the katsudon here has become the base for me because I used to come here quite often before moving. Since there are many roadside locations, I had been staying away from it. I decided to visit after a long time. The parking lot seems to be shared with the Marugame Seimen next door, and it was almost full. Even though it was a bit late for dinner, I managed to find an open spot and entered. Cold tea is a welcomed treat in the summer. This might be the first time since the pandemic, so it's been a few years? The pickles were served after the meal was brought to the table, which was a change. I ordered the Bamboo Rice and Light Broth Set B with a small pork miso soup and a hot spring egg, as a little luxury since it's been a while. After taking a bite, I thought, yes, this is it. The flavor is just right. I like to sprinkle plenty of shichimi on top. It was my first time trying the hot spring egg on top. It could go either way with or without it. The pork miso soup had tender ingredients and was a bit light in flavor for restaurant standards. The konnyaku was larger than usual. The slightly crumbling potatoes were also good. Although chain restaurants may lack a special feeling, I think it's generally a safe choice for a meal.

I have a regular craving for katsudon, but I'm quite picky about it. While I can't have my favorite katsudon in Sapporo, the one at "Katsuya" comes close and is like a lifeline for me. They have various limited-time items, but their signature katsudon (with plum) is the best. Priced at 490 yen before tax, it's a great deal for such quality. The pork cutlet is tender and not too fatty, with a crispy coating. But what I love most is the sweet sauce and the way the egg is cooked. I enjoy the perfect mix of egg yolk and white, with the white just cooked enough. It was delicious as always. Thank you for the meal.

The pork cutlet bowl (with umeboshi) and an additional pork cutlet bowl with 2 pieces of fried chicken for 150 yen is a great deal. The total price for both is 490 yen, but with a discount coupon, it becomes 100 yen cheaper. It's cheaper than convenience store food. I think it's amazing to get a pork cutlet bowl at this price. It's understandable that the taste may vary depending on the restaurant.

I visited for lunch. It was my first time at this place. I rarely pass by this road, so I didn't even know when it opened (・_・; This time, I ordered the "Pork Cutlet Set" with a large serving of rice. The pork cutlet was tender and delicious ♫ Three pieces weren't enough (-。-; Maybe because I got a large serving of rice, but I want to come back to eat again. Thank you for the meal٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

End of the year on a Saturday. I had to go out for shopping and errands. It was a bit hectic, so I decided to have a quick meal at a restaurant where I could have brunch and lunch together. I suddenly felt like having Katsudon after a long time, so I rushed into this restaurant.
I ordered:
- Katsudon (plum) for 539 yen
- Tonjiru (small) for 132 yen
The quality was satisfying for the price. The Katsu was crispy and the egg, onion, and broth were just right. The tonjiru had a good amount of meat without being too fatty or greasy.
My husband ordered the Loin Katsu set for 759 yen. I tried a piece and although it seemed slightly overcooked, the meat itself was flavorful and delicious. It would have been nice to have miso soup instead of tonjiru, but using the pork scraps to make the Katsu is understandable.
This restaurant's value seems to lie in a different aspect compared to Katsudon specialty shops or soba restaurants. It's a convenient option when you feel like having Katsudon without the high prices of specialty shops or the blandness of convenience store bentos. The daikon pickles served as a palate cleanser were a nice touch and became my favorite.
I hadn't eaten here in a while, but my husband occasionally stops by during his work rounds and always receives a 100 yen discount coupon at the register (with an expiration date). Using this coupon makes the cost even more reasonable, which is appreciated. We paid a total of 1230 yen for both of us.
They also served complimentary hojicha, which was a nice touch (although some branches offer water instead). I realized that I didn't really need the tonjiru, so next time I might opt for just the Katsudon to make it even more affordable than a convenience store bento. I will definitely visit again when I crave Katsudon. Thank you for the meal.

Located in the Shinkawa area of Kita Ward, along the Shinkotoni-dori, is "Katsuya" restaurant. After seeing the restaurant featured on a TV program, I had a sudden craving and decided to have dinner there. The restaurant has a spacious parking area and a large, bright, and clean interior with counter and table seating. It was bustling with customers, including those getting takeout. I couldn't decide between a set meal or a rice bowl, but this time I ordered the "Katsu Don (Plum) for 490 yen excluding tax" and "Tonjiru (small) for 120 yen excluding tax." The dishes were ready in about 7 minutes. The tonkatsu was tender, and it paired well with the sweetness of the egg and the richness of the broth in the katsu don. I think it's a delicious katsu don. Considering the quality and portion size, the price of 490 yen is quite reasonable. Some may not have high expectations for a national chain restaurant, but I recommend it for those looking to enjoy tasty tonkatsu at a good value.

After work, I stopped by Katsuya Sapporo Shinkawa store to have dinner. The parking lot is in front of the store. Inside, there are counter seats and table seats. I ordered the "Special Katsudon" (650 yen) and "Miso Soup (small)" (120 yen). The Katsudon was delicious, with a generous portion of pork cutlet and perfect seasoning. The miso soup was comforting and tasty. Great meal!

This is Shinagawa. I had rotating sushi, three cups of coffee, and ramen before coming to Shinagawa. The food wasn't anything special, but surprisingly, the three cups of coffee did the trick. But as I wandered around, it's strange how you get hungry again. I stumbled upon Katsuya! I always thought there were a lot of Katsuya locations, but there are only 10 in Sapporo. It's a rare find, so I decided to go in. When I come to Katsuya, I usually get the pork cutlet bowl, but this year's theme is curry, so I decided to try the pork cutlet curry. Pork Cutlet Curry Bamboo - 790 yen + tax. The crispy and hot pork cutlet with cabbage goes well with the slightly spicy medium-hot curry. It's quite easy to eat. The pickled radish also goes well with this curry. Other than the cabbage, you can eat without chewing much. Pork Cutlet Curry is like a shake in a drink form. Pork Cutlet Curry, slurp slurp~ Now, it's time to go home for dinner! Thank you for the meal. 2020 goal: 100 curry restaurants. Review #20 of the year.

A certain convenience store in Sapporo's Shinkawa area has turned into "Katsuya" without me realizing it, and it has been like that for a few months now. I've been curious about it for a while, and when I went there during lunchtime the other day, the parking lot was full! It's a shared parking lot with the neighboring udon restaurant, so there were a lot of customers from there as well, so I had to give up. I went at a kind of awkward time, not quite lunch or dinner, so I was able to enter smoothly this time. I ordered the shrimp fry and pork cutlet set, and it was ready quite quickly after ordering. Maybe because it wasn't crowded, it was even faster? The shrimp fry came with tartar sauce. There were sauce, sesame dressing, shichimi, and mustard on the table. I want to eat the cabbage with soy sauce though. I want to enjoy the pork cutlet with salt too... But well, considering the price, maybe this is how it is? The fried food was crispy and delicious (°▽°). They also offer takeout, so it might be nice to buy some side dishes and enjoy them at home with some drinks.

When it gets hot, the symptoms worsen, it is a designated rare disease by the government. Unfortunately, there is no medication that suits me yet. This review is based on my condition and consultation. Likes and comments may be delayed, so thank you in advance. [June 2019] "Katsuya" is a nationwide chain of affordable tonkatsu. This Sapporo Shinkawa branch is a new store that opened in December 2018. I went for a late lunch with my usual companion after heading straight from the usual hospital. (laughs) This store is located in the Shinkawa area of Kita-ku, Sapporo, along Shin-Kotoni Street. Please check the exact location of the store on Tabelog. I visited for a late lunch around 2:30 pm on a weekday. The store is located on the same premises as "Marugame Seimen" and shares a parking lot. When I entered the store, it was spacious and relaxed in a good way, not typical of "Katsuya." It feels different from another tonkatsu restaurant. (laughs) I ordered the "Rosukatsu set" with a change to "large" for the miso soup. My usual companion ordered the "Hirekatsu set" because they don't like fatty meat. After waiting for 7 minutes, the two sets arrived. Rosukatsu Set Miso Soup (Large) Rosukatsu The Rosukatsu looked like a 120g piece of meat, not a layered cutlet. It was fried quite well. It came with shredded cabbage. Miso Soup (Large) The miso soup had quite a few ingredients other than fatty meat this time. The large size had a satisfying amount. It wasn't piping hot, but it was warm. Rice The rice was about a medium serving. It was just right for me, but younger people might find it small. Price: ¥745 (tax included) Large Miso Soup: ¥43 (tax included) Total: ¥788 (tax included) Hire Set Hirekatsu The Hirekatsu came with three pieces. It was fried crispy and the meat was tender. Shredded cabbage was also included. Miso Soup (Small) The miso soup had quite a few ingredients other than fatty meat this time. The small size was normal. It wasn't piping hot, but it was warm. Rice Same as above Price: ¥853 Freshly fried tonkatsu is always delicious. It's nice to be able to have a Rosukatsu set for around ¥700 even outside of lunchtime. The reasonable price makes it easy to visit. At a specialty store, it would cost around ¥1400. We no longer need extra cabbage or rice refills. The set already has plenty of volume for me and my usual companion. I wonder which tonkatsu menu I should try next time. It would be more convenient if the next time's ¥100 discount coupon had a longer expiration date. (laughs) It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

This is a new store of Katsuya \(^▽^)/ Located on Shin Koto-nishi Street, just a short walk from Shin Doori. It's right next to Rokkatei. The parking lot is shared with Marugame Seimen next door, and there are quite a few spaces available. However, on this day, it was Marugame's special day (something was free), so there was a long line extending onto the road. I regretted coming at this time, but I was already craving katsu. Katsuya has two separate counter seating areas with a total of about 15 seats. There are also table seats for 4 people and 2 people, totaling around 10 tables. The layout is different from other Katsuya locations I know, with the kitchen visible in front of the counter seats. I decided to wait and ordered the limited-time Tomato Tamago Chicken Katsu set meal. Although it was different from what I imagined, it was delicious. I also received a 100 yen discount coupon, which I used and received a new one. I will definitely visit again soon. Thank you for the meal.
