I'm in Kushiro for work and don't have much time to eat at the restaurant as usual. I go to "Lunch Box" along Hoshigaura Odori and after looking at the menu, I decide to order the "Norikara Bento @480 yen (tax included)". I don't usually eat bento boxes, so I'm not sure, but the prices for items like potato salad (100 yen), macaroni salad (100 yen), white fish fry (70 yen), and skewered cutlets (100 yen) seem a bit expensive, don't they? There are chairs and tables inside the restaurant, so I wonder if it's okay to eat in. I wait for 6 minutes and then eat in my car. The bento box includes 3 pieces of fried chicken, cabbage salad, potato croquette, red sausage, simmered kelp, and pickled vegetables (two types: cucumber and radish). There's seaweed on top of the rice and bonito flakes underneath. The fried chicken is hot and crispy with a subtle soy sauce flavor, which is good. The simmered kelp is a nice palate cleanser, and the red sausage is a pleasant addition. The rice, which seems to be local rice, is a bit firm and cooked just right, which I like. The portion seems quite generous, and I'm completely full now. Thank you for the meal.

Visit date October 11, 2019. Both myself and my companion finished work in the morning. We had separate errands to run in the afternoon and then met up. We had planned to eat out for dinner, but the soba we had for lunch was still dancing in our stomachs... Also, we have to wake up early tomorrow. So, we decided to snack at home and go to bed early. We visited Lunch Box. It has been a long time since I last visited. I think it used to be located around Tottori Dori 7-chome. After moving to Hoshigaura, I think I visited once. It was a long-awaited visit. We arrived around 16:40. There were no customers before us, and only one customer after us. We ordered: - Zangi (fried chicken) 200g for 190 yen - Ebi Fry (3 pieces) for 300 yen - Calamari Rings Fry (5 pieces) for 250 yen - Ebi Chili as a side dish for 500 yen The waiting time until the food was ready was about 10 minutes. The Zangi had a nice flavor throughout the meat. The batter was not too thick and had a light seasoning. The Ebi Fry had a crispy batter and a good sweetness from the shrimp. The Calamari Rings Fry had thin squid rings and a slightly oily taste. The Ebi Chili had large shrimp with tails, a mild spiciness, crunchy onions, and a flavorful seasoning. It was a delicious Ebi Chili. I noticed that the customer after us also ordered the Ebi Chili bento. Perhaps it's a popular choice. The bento options seem convenient as well, especially with the option to choose no rice. Thank you for the meal.

I am alone in Kushiro today because there is a fireworks festival in Abashiri. As a fireworks expert, I need to hurry back. I wandered around a bit before eating ramen. I even went all the way to buy mochi at Daikumo, and on the way back, I found a bento shop. It wasn't on my list, but I didn't write it in my notes. I couldn't find it on my list, so I went in and indeed, I had never been there before. I asked the lady if I had been there before, and she looked puzzled. It wasn't busy as it was not yet 1 pm. I didn't know what to order, but I ended up getting the "Fried Lunch without rice" for 420 yen after a 140 yen discount. It was a mistake not to look carefully at the side dishes. The couple who owned the shop were watching TV. When I got home, I reheated the food in a frying pan. The squid rings were a bit stretchy, like cotton threads. The fried hokke was normal with no fishy smell. The shrimp fry was good, with only a little bit left for my shrimp-loving wife. Overall, it was a delicious bento shop, but I only ate this without the rice.

Before the Bon holiday, I had a pile of documents to deal with before my day off, so I didn't want to waste time cooking. I decided to stop by a restaurant with a wide variety of menu options and ended up choosing the seafood bento with seaweed and spicy cod roe. The bento included ginger stir-fried squid, boiled shrimp, grilled salmon, fried oysters, calamari rings, and white fish fry. It was delicious and satisfying. I ended up waiting about 10 minutes for my order, but it was worth it as it gave me the energy boost I needed!...Wait, after eating, I'm starting to feel a bit sleepy...lol
