I stopped by this place while on a drive. I had the regular size beef suki-don, Kyoto-style pickles, and Kyoto-style pork miso soup for 780 yen. Unlike the beef bowls from other chain restaurants, this one had a sukiyaki-style with konjac noodles, cabbage, and wheat gluten, which made it unique and delicious. This was my first time trying Kyoto-style pork miso soup, but I couldn't tell what made it different from regular miso soup.

It had been a while since I last visited Nakau. The staff didn't say anything when I entered or left (no "welcome" or "thank you"). I ordered a parent and child rice bowl and a small cold udon. When the food arrived, I was surprised to see that when I tried to pick up the udon noodles, they all came up in one clump. I had to spend some time separating them before I could eat. As for the parent and child rice bowl, it was advertised as being soft and tender, but it was actually hard and burnt. I could hear chatting and laughter coming from the kitchen. Although the atmosphere was lively, I didn't feel like finishing my meal and ended up leaving. Thank you for the meal.

I used it for breakfast before work. The opening hours vary depending on the day of the week. The ticket machine can be tricky if you're not used to it. I ordered the Bacon and Eggs, Beef Small Bowl Breakfast Set for 580 yen. I sat down and handed over my ticket, and my meal was served without much of a wait. The rice portion was generous. The bright yellow sunny-side-up eggs were cooked to perfection. The beef small bowl and miso soup were quite flavorful. I left feeling full and satisfied even though it was only morning.

It wasn't that I was bad at it, but rather I felt overwhelmed by the lack of experience. I couldn't keep up with the information and felt flustered. A staff member came to collect my ticket. Once seated, the ordered items arrived promptly without any wait. I ended up ordering a chicken soboro bowl and cold bukkake udon instead of the hot udon I wanted... But it was still tasty. Most importantly, I found comfort in having a cheap and satisfying breakfast. I'm grateful for that. I might just get hooked on morning meals♪

I planned to go in the morning, but the uncertainty of the morning business hours made me go in the evening instead. The ankake sauce didn't look very appetizing, as it requires a lot of skill to make it look good. The crab had a slight fishy smell, but it became less noticeable as I ate. Would I eat it again? Probably not. Making ankake sauce for dishes other than soup is quite difficult.

The parking lot seemed to have an adequate number of spaces behind and next to the store, but it might be insufficient during peak times. The interior of the restaurant is not very spacious, with a U-shaped counter and 7 table seats. Japanese pop music with the company jingle was playing in the background. I appreciated that they had a lunch menu, so I ordered the "Parent and Child Donburi with Udon and 1 piece of Karaage set (700 yen)" and waited quietly. The cold genmaicha tea was delicious. The udon was soft and slightly thin, which may appeal to many people. The clear broth had a seafood aroma, but I found it slightly fishy. The toppings included tenkasu, green onions, and kamaboko. The parent and child donburi was as advertised, with a semi-soft egg and a good balance of sweet sauce, tender chicken, and vegetables. The sauce was on the sweeter side. The karaage was larger than a typical bento size and had a chewy meat texture with a strong garlic or ginger flavor. Overall, I finished the meal smoothly and was satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I noticed a sign for katsuo tataki don (seared bonito bowl) when driving past Nakau, so I decided to visit the restaurant. I parked my car in the parking lot next to the store and entered. I glanced at the katsuo tataki don poster before entering. I then went to the ticket machine, selected the "katsuo tataki don small" option, received my ticket, and sat at a vacant counter seat. I handed my ticket to the staff and waited for my order. The donburi arrived in 2-3 minutes, but I was disappointed to see that there were only 4 slices of bonito, which was fewer than shown in the poster. I mixed wasabi soy sauce, lightly dipped the bonito, and then enjoyed it. The marinated bonito in a slightly sweet sauce was quite tender. I then quickly finished the rice with the bonito. The poster showed regular and large servings, but it would be helpful to have a photo of the small serving as well.

I parked my car in the parking lot next to the store and entered. I went to the ticket machine, selected "Oyakodon" in small size and "Chicken Dumpling Soup" on the touch panel, received the tickets, and sat at the available counter seat. I handed the tickets to the staff and waited for my order while sipping on cold tea. In 1-2 minutes, my order arrived. I tried the Oyakodon first, it had a comforting taste and the chicken was tender with a relatively light flavor. Then, I tried the Chicken Dumpling Soup, unfortunately, it was lukewarm. The soup had a light chicken broth flavor and the chicken dumplings were quite soft. I also had some Kyoto-style pickles as a palate cleanser, which had a unique seasoning that might be divisive. There was a poster on the wall recommending their cold udon, so I look forward to trying it on my next visit while it's still hot outside.
