I have been checking out this small restaurant that can only accommodate one person. Ambiance: The interior is spacious with a small raised area or a counter. It's not completely separated, and there seem to be many regular customers, creating a warm atmosphere. Even though I was a newcomer, both the regulars and the staff treated me in a friendly manner, giving a sense of stability. Food: There are some dishes that may not be available depending on the day, but overall, everything was delicious. The beer was average. Summary: It has a calming and warm atmosphere where you can feel the human touch. It seems like a perfect place to casually drop by alone.

Finally, I was able to visit one of the restaurants I wanted to go to. This place offers all-you-can-drink for groups of three or more. For those who enjoy drinking, it's a great deal. I recommend the medium fatty tuna or lean tuna. Unfortunately, they were out of lean tuna that day, so we ordered the medium fatty tuna along with mackerel simmered in miso, chicken skewers, and pork skewers. The medium fatty tuna was perfectly fatty and delicious. The mackerel simmered in miso was different from what I expected, as it wasn't filleted into three pieces. It had been simmered thoroughly, so the flavor was rich and you could even eat the bones. This dish is definitely a popular item at this restaurant and it was delicious. We also ordered grilled beef tongue and rolled omelette as extras, and everything we tried was delicious. We ate until we were full and the total bill for three people was 11,000 yen, which is quite reasonable.

A few days ago, I went around 19:30 but the store was closed, so I visited again! Luckily, it was open this time. I heard that the landlady was absent, so they closed when there were no customers. I started with a draft beer for 450 yen to quench my thirst. The man next to me was enjoying a bottle of Manzan sake. The appetizer, which was like simmered pork, was sweet and delicious. They also brought a basket full of snacks. I thought they would have tuna here, but it was priced at 800 yen...or more? I asked, and they said it could be 1200 yen depending on the customer. Luckily, I was charged 800 yen. The lady said that they might give me a discount because of that. The difference between lean tuna for 700 yen and medium fatty tuna for 800 yen was only 100 yen. There was some sinewy parts, but the fat was delicious. Soon, a regular female customer arrived, and they started chatting with the other regulars, leaving me feeling a bit left out. Since I couldn't join the conversation, I decided to leave.

Once you cross the shopping park and reach beyond 4th Street, the number of people suddenly decreases. This place is located next to Kushitori, a bustling spot for young people, creating a contrasting image. I visited around 5:40 PM, just 10 minutes after opening. There were no other customers, only the owner and two female staff members. They were all friendly, welcoming me and directing me to a table as there were reservations at the first four tables. I ordered a draft beer for 450 yen, and the complimentary appetizer was chilled tofu. The recommended menu item was the "honmaguro" (tuna) as they source it directly from a tuna supplier, ensuring fresh and reasonably priced dishes. The owner also suggested a sashimi assortment including honmaguro (medium fatty tuna), tsubu, and nanban shrimp for 1,000 yen. When the sashimi arrived, I was surprised by the quality for the price. The honmaguro was incredibly tender and fatty without being overwhelming. The tsubu and nanban shrimp were also very fresh. The four reserved tables were all occupied by solo customers, mostly older individuals who seemed like regulars. I also joined in the conversation later on. I had two glasses of "Otoko Yamahai" cold sake for 400 yen each. I ordered additional items, including salted hormone skewers (280 yen for 2) and simmered mackerel in miso (600 yen), which was delicious. The mackerel was fatty and the seasoning was just right, with a hint of sesame adding a nice aroma. This dish paired perfectly with the sake. As I sent a message to my friend to start without me, I hurried to the next restaurant where my companions were waiting!

I visited a restaurant where a former colleague from my previous workplace who was on a business trip to Asahikawa recommended. The restaurant was featured in a magazine for their "real tuna" dish priced at 600 yen for two servings. The tuna was indeed delicious, and it's a must-try here. I also tried the "Ramen Salad" for 450 yen, which was just average with sesame dressing. My colleague opted for the "Oden" for 450 yen, which tasted like a homemade dish but was quite cheap for the portion size. The skewers were priced at 130 yen each, and they were comparable to the nearby restaurant "Kushitori." They also serve Asahikawa's local sake, "Otoko Yama," for 350 yen per glass. Overall, the restaurant offers affordable prices and a cozy atmosphere for enjoying drinks. I will definitely come back here when I crave tuna again.

Shopping Park Street in Asahikawa. A newly opened store last year. The brand new interior has counter seats and a raised seating area. The raised seating area was fully occupied after 9 p.m., showing how popular it is. The menu is as shown in the photo. There aren't many items, but they seem to focus on skewers. Prices are relatively affordable. I was intrigued, so I ordered oden and simmered hamburger. The oden was quite good. The daikon radish soaked up the broth nicely. The simmered hamburger is huge!! It's cut into four pieces, making it perfect for sharing. The flavor is rich and makes you crave rice. I ended up just having beer though (laughs). The kitchen is visible behind the counter, but unfortunately, you can't see them cooking at all. It would be nice if you could see at least some of the cooking process. It's a good place for casual and affordable dining and drinking.
