Located on the 10th floor of Marui Imai Sapporo Main Store in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, this restaurant specializes in pasta and pizza. The lunch menu offers three options (A, B, C) with a side salad included. On a Sunday afternoon around 2 pm, there was no waiting line at the entrance as I was seated promptly. The restaurant has a window with a view of the north side, where you can see the Sapporo City Hall and the beautiful autumn foliage in Odori Park. The tables were mostly occupied by elderly couples, families, and shoppers. Each table had a green and white or red and white cloth with partitions for COVID-19 safety measures. I ordered the B lunch set, which consisted of spaghetti with bacon and eggplant in tomato sauce for 1298 yen. The meal started with a simple salad of lettuce, onion slices, and corn with soy sauce dressing. The pasta portion was generous and cooked al dente, with a flavorful olive oil and garlic sauce. The tomato sauce was not too acidic and very tasty. The meal also came with grated cheese and Tabasco on the side. I also ordered an iced coffee for 220 yen, which had a nice roasted flavor. Overall, it was a popular and welcoming restaurant with a variety of pasta options and delicious flavors.

Marui-san's pasta shop. They also have menu items like pizza. They offer lunch sets with original pasta options A, B, and C along with a salad. I ordered the Mushroom Bolognese Cream for lunch. The creamy Bolognese sauce with meat and mushrooms was delicious. The noodles were just the right thickness and texture. The restaurant is spacious, and if you sit by the window, you can see outside, creating a nice atmosphere.

It's a popular Italian restaurant with a nice view of Odori Park from the window. I like the pasta set for lunch. The pasta has thin noodles that go well with any sauce and have a good texture. It's tastier than fancy high-end restaurants. The staff are a bit straightforward and the interior design is a bit old-fashioned. It's on the 10th floor of Marui so I often stop by when I'm in Odori.

Located in the Marui Imai department store on the 10th floor in the Odori Park area, this Italian restaurant was where I decided to have lunch while shopping at Marui Imai. The interior had table seating, not very spacious, but you could see the view of Odori Park from the windows. Since it was an early lunch, there weren't many customers. The menu offered around 20 types of pasta and 4 types of pizza, but I chose the "Arrabiata (1,155 yen)" listed at the top of the menu. It was ready in just over 10 minutes. The Arrabiata was a seafood pasta in olive oil, and I found the garlic flavor slightly strong, but the pasta was cooked al dente and delicious. It tasted even better with a squeeze of lemon for a refreshing touch. The portion size was decent, but I personally felt it was a bit lacking, making the price seem a bit high. The casual cafe-like atmosphere makes it a good choice for when you want to enjoy Italian food in a relaxed setting.

Located on the 10th floor of Marui Imai Sapporo Main Store, this restaurant offers pasta and pizza. They have three daily lunch specials with salad included. You can add a drink for 220 yen. I tried the "Bolognese with soft-boiled egg" and it was delicious. The restaurant is called "Chao" and is situated at 1-2 Minami 1 Nishi 2, Chuo-ku, Sapporo.

Marui Imai Sapporo Main Store 10th floor, Ciao. Since lunchtime had passed, I ordered a la carte. Bolognese Caesar Salad Bolognese has a refreshing taste with a tangy tomato sauce. The Caesar salad is full of crisp vegetables. Facing Odori Park, you can also enjoy the view from the 10th floor, including the TV tower.

I visited Chao at Marui for the first time in a while. I ordered the tomato cream pasta, which had thin noodles that cooked quickly and was served faster than I expected. The mozzarella cheese was delicious. The set salad had lettuce, corn, and a common French dressing. I ordered an iced café au lait for an additional charge. It had a normal, typical taste. The seat by the window had a nice view. The staff seemed a bit business-like, but not particularly bad in customer service. I would like to try the pizza next time. Thank you for the meal.

My wife came back, so we had lunch at a fancy restaurant (laughs). The carbonara was a large serving, maybe 1080 yen plus 216 yen? Since we don't usually come to this kind of fancy place, it felt a bit slow for the food to come out. Well, if they were boiling the dry noodles, it would take time. When it finally arrived, surprisingly, the portion was quite big. The bacon was thick like a log. It's a cream-based sauce with cheese and egg yolk, so it really fills you up (laughs). The noodles were also thin. It's nice to have this kind of meal once in a while. Ciao!

In February 2019, I visited "Ciao" on the 10th floor of Marui Imai Sapporo Main Store in Chuo-ku, Sapporo. This restaurant specializes in pasta and pizza. I used to visit this place years ago when it was located on the basement floor of the same department store. The kitchen was visible through glass windows, creating a lively atmosphere in the small restaurant. It was always crowded, with long lines forming outside on weekends. However, it closed down due to renovations. A few years ago, it reopened on the 10th floor. I ordered the "Arrabbiata" pasta and Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was much larger than I expected, with crisp and delicious vegetables. The Arrabbiata pasta, which I used to love, was a bit different from what I remembered. It was lighter and more like a soup pasta. Despite the slight difference, the view from the 10th floor was beautiful, and the salad was tasty. I might try a different pasta next time.

Recently, I've been hunting for places with few reviews to earn T-points. Surprisingly, this place seemed to have not many reviews, so I decided to check it out. I went to a restaurant located on the 10th floor of Marui Imai. While pasta seems to be their specialty, I opted for pizza this time to change things up. As a cheese lover, I couldn't resist trying the four cheese pizza. The crust was thin and crispy, more like a side dish than a main. Be careful as the edges are crispy and tend to crumble when you bite into them. The flavor was dominated by the strong taste of blue cheese, which I personally enjoyed as a blue cheese addict. However, the other cheese flavors were a bit subdued. The view was great, so it would be nice to sit by the window if possible. They also accept card payments.

Before the renovation, there was a pasta restaurant on the basement floor of Tokyo Daimaru. Many people used to have a meal there before boarding the Shinkansen. It gradually closed down, and now it seems there are only locations in Sapporo and Fukuoka. It's a strange coincidence to come across it in Sapporo. The tableware is the same as the Tokyo Daimaru store, but the noodles seem to be a bit thinner. The carbonara sauce is also a bit less rich.

Why are they cleaning when there are customers? The noodles are thin and the shrimp and spinach cream spaghetti has chewy shrimp.

During lunchtime, I was indecisive about where to eat and ended up going to Marui's restaurant street. I remembered a restaurant I had visited a while back. Upon entering, there were a few groups of customers. I was seated at a window-side table for two. The menu mainly consisted of pizza and pasta. I chose carbonara and iced caffe latte. The carbonara had thin noodles with bacon, and the taste of egg and cream was decent. The drink seemed like an iced coffee with milk, probably made with a paper pack coffee. It's understandable since it's not a coffee specialty shop. What bothered me was that there were three staff members standing in front of the seats, making me feel uneasy. It wasn't too crowded, so they seemed bored. It probably wouldn't have bothered me if I had sat at a different table.

Today I revisited this place. The noodles here have a texture, chewiness, and smoothness that I really like. I heard they use Barilla's 1.4mm noodles, so I tried it at home but it turned out completely different, so I asked the staff for tips. They said, "We dry the boiled noodles once before mixing them with the sauce." Ah, I see! That's why it's impossible to replicate at home. This place used to have a branch in a commercial facility where my company is located, but it closed in June, so I came to what I believe is the main store. I have a dairy allergy, especially to cheese, which is my archenemy. The sauces here are mainly divided into olive, cream, and tomato, and if you order anything other than cream, there's no hidden cheese, making it a safe place for me. Furthermore, the noodles here are exceptional. They are extremely thin and cooked to perfection, reminiscent of the smoothness of the soba noodles I used to eat at Ike-no-Hata Yabu Soba. Today, I had the bacon and spicy onion tomato sauce dish, plus a salad and iced tea for 1,350 yen (I think). While the service may feel a little off, I am satisfied and pleased.

Chao, an Italian restaurant, was visited for the first time in November 2012. The lunch menu was available until 3 pm, and luckily we made it in time. The restaurant is located on the 10th floor of the Marui Imai Sapporo main store in the central area of Sapporo city. It was a late lunch visit on a weekday, with few customers. We ordered the "Mozzarella Cheese in Tomato Sauce" and the "Mushroom in Japanese-style Sauce" pasta dishes, along with an iced cafe au lait for lunch. The pasta was well cooked and had a nice tomato flavor with plenty of mozzarella cheese. The salad that came with the meal was fresh and generous. The iced cafe au lait was served in layers and had a good taste. The prices were reasonable, making it easy to enjoy a pasta lunch for under 1000 yen. Overall, the pasta was delicious and the experience was satisfying.

The impression was that the quality of the store inside the department store was not great. I visited on a day when the weather was extremely bad due to a late snowfall in Sapporo. I didn't want to go outside, so I decided to eat here at Marui Imai. I thought pasta would be a safe choice. However, it was just too salty to eat! The oyster pasta was the recommended menu of the day, so other pasta dishes might be different, but the saltiness was overpowering. I chose the powdered cheese from the chili-infused olive oil and powdered cheese that came with it. I sprinkled a lot to try to balance out the flavor and managed to finish it. The pasta was very thin. I prefer spaghetti that is about 1.7mm-1.8mm in thickness or thicker noodles, so it didn't suit my taste. I thought it was paired with an oil-based pasta, but reading other reviews, it seems that was not the case, so I wanted to mention it. The service was average. I went around 2 pm, and there were mostly solo diners around. They were considerate in not seating customers next to each other and refilling water without being asked. I won't be visiting again. For the price, there are plenty of other options around Odori Park. When I went, they didn't offer a lunch menu, so I ordered pasta, Caesar salad, and iced cafe au lait separately, which cost me nearly 1,800 yen.
