The weather was not great, but it is a very good golf course! The restaurant is relatively affordable and serves high-quality food! This time, I had the rich shrimp miso ramen!! The broth is rich and the shrimp flavor is incredibly delicious!

The golf season in Hokkaido seems to be coming to an end, but I decided to have my first round at Hokkaido Brooks Country Club in November, considering the possibility of snowfall. I played with a group that included Mizenomizu, and Brooks is definitely an athlete's course. After the round, I enjoyed the famous Mapo Tofu Donburi, which wasn't too spicy but delicious. I wonder how many more rounds I can play this year before the season ends. Looking forward to my last round and getting the latest Ping driver!

On Saturday, I played golf even though it looked like rain. I was able to finish the front nine, but the back nine was a washout. That's just how it goes sometimes. For a late lunch, I had a Genghis Khan set meal. The combination of Genghis Khan and rice was perfect, and I enjoyed it a lot. Thank you for the meal!

This is a golf course located in Tomakomai City, Hokkaido. It is very conveniently located, within a 30-minute taxi ride from New Chitose Airport. Before hitting the course, we had lunch. The lunch we ordered this time was as follows:
- Stone kiln Mabo Yakisoba (with zasai, small rice, and soup)
This golf course seems to be proud of its dish with Sichuan pepper-flavored mapo tofu. The stone kiln Mabo Yakisoba is yakisoba with their special mapo tofu poured over it in a hot stone kiln. It's hot, but not too spicy. The scent of Sichuan pepper is moderate, making it a mapo tofu that seems to be well-received by everyone. This time, we ended up playing in the rain, but thanks to the mapo tofu, it didn't feel too cold.

This is a golf course located near Tomakomai Higashi Interchange in Tomakomai City. On this day, it was a competition with lunch included, so I had the special beef curry from the competition menu. Whenever I'm at a golf course, I always end up ordering curry. The curry had a full-bodied flavor with a good balance of broth richness and tender meat. It was a delicious beef curry. The only downside was that the portion of rice was a bit small. I would love to eat this delicious curry again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal!

I wanted to eat something to commemorate my visit, but it was already written twice (laughs). I can't leave the table now, so I look at the menu. After looking at the menu several times, I decided to order the Sichuan-style spicy mapo tofu rice. It was served promptly. It's not as spicy as it claims to be, but I would be okay with it being a bit spicier. I'm not a big fan of the spiciness of the Sichuan pepper, but regardless of the spiciness level, the basic flavor was solid. It was delicious. I regret not appreciating the sesame seeds sprinkled in the soup as something fancy. Thank you for the meal.

Last round of 2020. When leaving Sapporo, there was snow on the ground, but unsurprisingly, there was no snow in Tomakomai. This is the last round of the season here. I wonder if finishing with a caddy will make my clubs cleaner? The weather was pretty good for this time of year, I think. But my score was not good. One penalty stroke is always a no-go. I'll have some food before heading home. I ordered the Napoli-tan that caught my eye on the menu. It came with a soft-boiled egg on top. The powdered cheese and Tabasco go well together. It's delicious. It's a world of difference from the Napoli-tan at the Tobetsu golf course. The salad and soup are also delicious. If I can visit again next year, I'll go with this. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the Hokkaido Brooks Country Club for the first time thanks to a special discount plan for local residents. I ordered the stone oven mapo yakisoba from the laminated menu at the restaurant during the half-time break. The staff was a bit intimidating in taking orders, but the dish was served piping hot and had a slightly spicy taste which I enjoyed. The price of 1,650 yen may be a bit high even with the golf course discount, but it was a nice treat for my first visit. The course was a pleasant walk, and I wonder if it's because of the good quality grass?

It's been three years since I last visited Brooks Country Club. The course and the Clubhouse are both great. Had delicious sesame tantanmen noodles for lunch in Tomakomai. #HokkaidoBrooksCountryClub #SesameTantanmenNoodles #TomakomaiLunch #TomakomaiGourmet #HokkaidoGourmet #TomakomaiGolf #HokkaidoGolf

Golf course lunch is Sichuan-style mapo tofu rice! [Brooks Country] Hokkaido Tomakomai City On a Sunday early morning, I went to the Hokkaido Brooks Country Club near Tomakomai Higashi Inter for a competition. It's been a few years since I last played golf. Starting at 7 am and playing 18 holes in one go in Hokkaido is tough (laughs). In mainland Japan, it's common to play half the course, take a break for a meal, and then play the second half. Even so, with a good course, a caddy, and a meal included, it costs 14,000 yen. It's a competition, so it can't be helped... I took a break to eat while scoring a lot of strokes.
Sichuan-style spicy mapo tofu rice 1,180 yen
Among the various noodle dishes and set meals, what caught my eye the most was the mapo tofu rice. After playing golf and feeling tired, eating a rice dish can be tough, so I usually order noodle dishes. But this time, I was craving something spicy. The dish is simple, but the Sichuan-style flavor adds a touch of authenticity and just the right amount of stimulation. Don't underestimate the lunch at a golf course (laughs). It's served in a bowl style, making it easy to eat and I finished it quickly.

I went to Hokkaido (from Ibaraki Airport) for golf around Chitose for two days. For the second year in a row, I visited Brooks Country Club Links Course, which I really like. The employees, including front desk staff, restaurant staff, and sales staff, all have a sense of elegance and hospitality. After finishing the first round, my husband had the "Makari Herb Pork Fillet Cutlet Meal," which was delicious and tender. I had the "Zangi and Cold Udon Meal," which was also delicious. It was a clear day, and on the terrace, many groups were enjoying Genghis Khan (grilled mutton) and beer. We decided that we would try it next year!

Once a year, the much-anticipated Hokkaido golf tour. This time, we visited Brooks and the day before we went to The North Country Golf Club. The course where the Sega Sammy Cup Golf Tournament was held recently. In Hokkaido and Okinawa, it is common to have morning and afternoon rounds of golf, so restaurant use is not very common. Especially on this tour, the time schedule is tight, so there is not much room for dining at a restaurant. However, this time we had some rare free time. Perhaps it was due to the fire on the Korean Air plane that happened at Haneda the day before? I wonder what would have happened if that fire had occurred two hours earlier when we were there? So, on our third Hokkaido tour, we had our first meal at a restaurant. I was considering the deluxe lamb teppanyaki set, but we were planning to eat after golf, so maybe mapo tofu? But that's not really a Hokkaido specialty. After much thought, I decided that if we're in Hokkaido, it has to be miso ramen! I've never ordered miso ramen at golf courses in the Kanto region (^_-)-☆ After waiting for about 5 minutes, the deluxe miso ramen arrived. Let's taste it!! It looks like miso ramen! The soup has a mild miso flavor, the noodles are the standard curly noodles, and the toppings are just regular chashu and menma. It was a delicious miso ramen, nothing extraordinary, just a good bowl of miso ramen (^_-)-☆ Huh? Two consecutive rounds of golf course ramen. But seriously, a week after the Kanagawa Golf Competition, I was on this tour. I really am a ramen-loving old man.

I went on a golf trip to Hokkaido with my friend. The ANA Open was being held at Sapporo Golf Club Rakuatsu Course, so it was the perfect season for golf. However, it was unexpectedly cold. The golf wear I brought was not enough to keep me warm. I regretted not bringing at least one thin Heattech layer. For those who watched the final day of the ANA Open, you would know that the wind was really strong. It made the cold even worse. We played in the afternoon after having a meal. I had Genghis Khan set meal, which had decent meat without any unpleasant smell, but the sauce lacked a punch. It needed more garlic. My friend had miso ramen, which was creamy and average. The smoked mackerel was a good match with cheese and went well with beer. The Hokkaido wind, sticky rough, and lush fairways made the game challenging. Plus, there were no carts, so it was quite a workout for the legs and back!

A guest from Tokyo came to visit, so I had to play golf with them. I'm not very good at golf and don't have much time to practice. Despite my hesitations, I decided to play at a prestigious course, the Kounjun Classic. The course was challenging with strong winds and difficult roughs and hazards. The food at the course was also important, especially for discerning guests. I enjoyed a delicious tonkatsu meal before the game, made with high-quality pork from the local area. The tonkatsu was satisfying with a good balance of meat and fat, and the side dishes like potato salad were also tasty. In conclusion, golf was tough, but the tonkatsu was delicious.

I visited this place for the final round of the season on 09/11/17. It had been a while since I played a round with a caddy, and I got a good deal since the off-season was approaching. Unfortunately, my score was not great, and it was quite cold, so I decided to warm up with a meal right after. I chose the "special Sapporo miso ramen" without really knowing what made it special. The ramen that arrived was just a regular miso ramen with simple toppings like bamboo shoots, chashu, boiled egg, chopped green onions, and nori. The soup had a strong artificial miso flavor, and the noodles were probably Nishiyama brand. Overall, it was not particularly special despite being labeled as "special." On the other hand, my friend's "duck nanban soba" had overcooked noodles, and when we complained, the meal was comped. Thank you for the meal.
