In Otaru City Midori, a popular bakery called "Pan Yorutono" opened on September 14, 2019. Despite its location away from the city center, it quickly gained popularity with long lines forming at opening. Within just four years, it relocated to a newly built standalone store called "Chou Usui" located about 100 meters from the national highway towards the sea side. The surrounding area is still underdeveloped, with the parking space in front of the store and the sidewalk construction incomplete. There are no prominent signs, just a small sign next to the entrance with the store's name. Inside, only a few items are displayed, with a limited selection due to the store relocation and equipment change. I purchased the "Campagne Fruits (1/4) @700" and the "Croissant @240 (excluding tax)". The croissant had a perfect crispy crust and a chewy texture inside, with a mild butter flavor. It was enjoyable, especially when reheated. The Campagne Fruits had a visually appealing presentation and a rich taste with fruits and nuts. I regret not choosing the plain option due to its heaviness. Despite the high price, the addictive taste will likely make me return. I hope they expand their menu soon. It was a delicious experience, and I look forward to visiting again.

It may seem expensive, but one slice is satisfying. If you're alone, a quarter is enough. Bought walnut and Seibel. They last long, so I can enjoy them slowly. The tangy flavor goes well with the saltiness of ham, cheese, and even condensed milk.

There are many wonderful dining establishments in the Hyouzui district, and Yorutono has finally joined the ranks. It is located a short distance down the hill in front of Yukimichi. Nearby, you can also find Matano and Pocket Time. Such lovely cafes! I popped in for a quick visit during my lunch break since it's so close by. The shop doesn't have a sign, so it's easy to miss, but I noticed the flowers in front and realized it must be the place. I was expecting it to be crowded, but I was the only customer. Good, it's a weekday after all. Even so, there were only four types of bread left. I chose the Fruit from among them. They had a half-size remaining, so I had it cut in half and purchased a quarter-size (700 yen). It's quite substantial! Very dense and heavy. Just one of these filled me up for lunch. It had a strong scent of liqueur and was packed with fruit and nuts. I occasionally buy Fruit from other shops, but this one might be my favorite. I'll definitely be back. Thank you for the meal!
